July 1 | What Freedom Really Means | Kids Devotional for kids Carpooling with Jesus
Hey Carpool Crew, Summer is wide open, and so is the big question every kid eventually asks: if I could do anything I wanted, what would I do? Today on Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin kicks off Freedom Week with Galatians 5:1, where Paul says Christ set us free. Free, it turns out, was never about doing whatever you want. It's about finally being able to do what's right. This Wednesday episode hands kids three things to try this week: pick one right thing nobody's making you do, pray three quick words when you feel the tug to do wrong, and ask the heart question, am I trying to earn God's love or do I already have it? About 5 minutes, kid-friendly, with a discussion question to land on together. Today's One Thing: Jesus didn't break your chains so you could run wild. He broke them so you could turn around and do the right thing. June 30 | Refilling Your Faith Tank | Carpooling with Jesus | Daily Christian Devotional Podcast for Kids
Hey Carpool Crew, Last day of June. Your kid has spent a month at camp, on the road, with siblings, in cabins, in hotel beds, at grandma's. They are probably running on fumes. Today on Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin walks kids through Isaiah 40:31, the verse with eagle wings in it. The kind that fills a kid up instead of just patching them up. You can't run the second half of summer on yesterday's energy. This Tuesday episode gives kids three real moves for refilling. The four-word prayer move. The plug-in-first move. The God-not-screens move. About 5 minutes, kid-friendly, with a discussion question to land on together. Today's One Thing: Whispering "God, fill me" is the move when your tank is empty. June 29 | Halfway Through Summer Check-in | Carpooling with Jesus Devotional for Kids
Hey Carpool Crew Parents, This week is the bridge. June is almost done. July is about to start. Your kid is basically at halftime of summer. Today's episode walks them into the locker room for a quick check-in instead of letting them coast or quit. Pastor Justin walks through 2 Corinthians 4:16 and gives kids a frame for honestly evaluating June without shame. Whether their first half was great or rough, halftime is not for quitting. It is for refilling. Three small ways to step into the second half on purpose. About six minutes long, kid-friendly, ready to talk about together. Press play in the carpool or at the kitchen table. Today's One Thing: Halftime is for refilling, not quitting. June 26 | Being a Good Cabin-mate | Carpooling with Jesus Devotional for Kids
Hey Carpool Crew, Night three at camp. The lights are off. Somebody starts ripping on the kid in bunk five for crying earlier. Three kids laugh. Your kid feels a sentence forming. They can join in. They can stay quiet. Or they can say one sentence that shuts it down. Today on Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin walks kids through Romans 12:10, where Paul tells believers in Rome to take the lead in honoring one another. The cabin is the perfect place to learn it. This Friday episode gives kids three real moves to try inside their cabin. The learn-every-name move. The shut-it-down move. The do-the-thing-nobody-asked move. About 5 minutes, kid-friendly, with a discussion question to land on together. Today's One Thing: Being the kid who shuts down the mean joke is what a real leader looks like. June 25 | When Camp Food Is Gross | Carpooling with Jesus Devotional for Kids
Hey Carpool Crew, The pasta is soft. The mystery casserole is hard to identify. The eggs look kind of green. Your kid sits down to a tray they did not pick, and their face starts to make the face before they can stop it. Today on Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin walks kids through 1 Corinthians 10:31, where Paul ends a long teaching about food with one massive sentence. Whatever you eat. Whatever you drink. Whatever you do. Do it for God. The "whatever" is the part most kids miss. This Thursday episode gives kids three real moves to try at the dining hall. The three-second-thanks move. The no-face move. The find-something-good move. About 5 minutes, kid-friendly, with a discussion question to land on together. Also tonight on the CWJ feed, a brand-new bonus episode of What Should I Do If, all about missing home at camp. Pair them. Today's One Thing: Even how you handle gross food can be a way to thank God. June 24 | Making Friends in 24 Hours | Carpooling with Jesus Devotional for Kids
Hey Carpool Crew, Camp is one of the wildest places on earth for friendship. By day three your kid will probably have an inside joke with somebody who was a stranger 24 hours earlier. But none of it happens unless somebody walks over first. Today on Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin walks kids through Proverbs 18:24 and gives them a vision for being the one who starts the friendship. This Wednesday episode gives kids three real moves to try at camp. The walk-over-first move. The good-question move. The remember-their-name move. June 23 | Trying the Hard Activity | Carpooling with Jesus Devotional for Kids
Hey Carpool Crew, The high ropes. The lake jump. The mountain bike trail. The horse. The deep end. Camp puts your kid in front of stuff that scares them a little, and they have about ten seconds to decide whether to try it or sit it out. Today on Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin walks kids through Philippians 4:13, the verse Paul wrote from a prison cell. The point most kids miss is that the strength is not yours. It is loaned. God hands it to you in the moment you need it. This Tuesday episode gives kids three real moves for the moment the activity is their turn. The verse-whisper move. The next-step-only move. The thank-God-after move. About 5 minutes, kid-friendly, with a discussion question to land on together. Today's One Thing: You don't have to be strong, you just have to keep going. BONUS | Joseph - When People Don't Get You | Episode 1 of 5 | Carpooling with Heroes of the Bible
Hey Carpool Crew! This week we're starting a five-episode journey through the life of Joseph, one of the most surprising heroes in the Bible. In Episode 1, we go back to the beginning. Joseph is seventeen, the favorite son in a complicated family, and God gives him a dream that nobody around him is ready to hear. The reaction is fast and brutal. By the end of Genesis 37, Joseph is sold by his own brothers and headed to Egypt. The dream God gave him is still alive. The people closest to him are not. For parents listening with your kids: this episode is a doorway into a real conversation about what to do when the people in your child's life don't celebrate what God is doing in them. We name the pain honestly and we anchor it in who God says they are. Today's One Thing: Sometimes the people closest to you won't understand what God is doing in your life. Stay rooted in who God says you are. Scripture: Genesis 37:5 (CSB) The arc: * Episode 1: When People Don't Get You (Backstory) * Episode 2: When You're Far From Home (Slavery and Potiphar's house) * Episode 3: Faithful in the Hard Place (False accusation and prison) * Episode 4: When God Lifts You Up (Pharaoh and elevation) * Episode 5: The Forgiveness That Saves a Family (Reunion and legacy) Carpoolingwithjesus.com Get involved with the Carpool Crew: follow @carpoolingwithjesus and tell us which Bible hero you want us to cover next.

Somebody else got the top bunk. Today's episode kicks off a brand-new Faith at Camp series for the summer drop-off season. Pastor Justin walks kids through Joshua 1:9, the verse God spoke to Joshua right before he led a whole nation into a place he'd never been. The word "wherever" is the part most kids miss. God is already at camp. He beat them there. This Monday episode gives kids three real moves to try the first day. The whisper-Joshua move. The look-for-the-other-nervous-kid move. The thank-God-He-beat-you-there move. About 5 minutes, kid-friendly, with a discussion question to land on together. Today's One Thing: Wherever you go, God is already there waiting. Today on Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin walks kids through Psalm 4:8, where David tells us he could sleep in peace anywhere because God came with him. The God who tucks your kids in at home is the same God in every room they'll ever sleep in. This Thursday episode gives kids three new-bed moves to try. The verse whisper. The same-God move. Hey Carpool Crew, Summer is packed with stuff worth being thankful for. The lake. The roller coaster. The cousin's wedding. The cabin. The pool. The road trip pit stop with the great milkshake. And almost none of it lands as worship in your kid's heart because nobody taught them to say thank you for it. Today on Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin walks kids through 1 Thessalonians 5:18, where Paul says give thanks in everything. Saying thank you for the trip is what turns a memory into worship. This Wednesday episode gives kids three real moves to try the next time they're on a trip. The favorite-part list. The photo move. The look-mom-and-dad-in-the-eye move. June 12 | Sharing Your Stuff | Devotional for kids Carpooling with Jesus
Hey Carpool Crew, Kids hoard. Not in a bad way. It is just where they live. Their stuff is their stuff. The new scooter, the controller, the trading cards. The instinct is to protect it. But when a friend asks to borrow something and the answer is yes, something between those two kids gets bigger. Today on Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin walks kids through Acts 20:35, where Paul quotes Jesus directly. It is more blessed to give than to receive. This Friday episode gives kids three sharing moves to try this weekend. The instinct yes. The offer-before-they-ask move. The use it up move. About six minutes long, kid-friendly, and a discussion question to land on right before everyone heads into the weekend. Today's One Thing: Letting someone borrow your stuff costs nothing and gives a lot.

June 11 | Standing Up for Someone | Devotional for kids Carpooling with Jesus
Hey Carpool Crew, Most kids freeze. Not because they are mean. Because they do not know what to say in the moment when a kid is being made fun of in front of them. So they laugh nervously, put their earbuds in, or look at their phone, and the moment passes. Today on Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin walks kids through Proverbs 31:8, where the Bible says to speak up for those who have no voice. Standing up does not have to be loud. It just has to be honest. This episode gives kids three real moves they can use this week. The four words that stop it. The move-and-sit. The tell a grown-up. About six minutes long, kid-friendly, and a discussion question to land before they head into the day. Today's One Thing: Sometimes loving like Jesus means speaking up when others stay silent. Scripture: Proverbs 31:8 (CSB) What should you do when a new kid shows up this summer? In today's episode, Pastor Justin shares a powerful lesson from Hebrews 13:2 about hospitality, which is a fancy word for making people feel welcome and helping them belong. Whether it's a new kid at church, summer camp, the neighborhood pool, or riding a bike down your street, God gives us opportunities every day to notice people who might feel left out. Jesus welcomed people everywhere He went, and He invites us to do the same. Sometimes it only takes a smile, a wave, or four simple words: "Hey, want to hang out?" Those small acts of kindness can make a huge difference in someone's day. Kids will learn practical ways to welcome new friends, step outside their comfort zones, and show the kind of love that Jesus shows us every day. They'll also be reminded to involve their parents when meeting new kids and building new friendships. Today's big idea: Welcoming a new kid is doing something Jesus does for you every day. This episode is perfect for families looking to teach kindness, friendship, inclusion, hospitality, and Christian character during the summer months. https://carpoolingwithjesus.com Listen & Subscribe Apple Podcasts: https://apple.co/4gUygJo Carpooling with Jesus: https://apple.co/3Zt7lvO Goodnight Psalms: https://apple.co/4nPQBJy Carpooling with Heroes of the Bible: https://apple.co/42UWrBm Subscribe on Spotify: https://bit.ly/SpotifySubscribe Spotify Plus: https://bit.ly/SpotifyPlus Facebook Group: https://bit.ly/CPWJFB YouTube: https://bit.ly/YoutubeCPWJ Instagram: https://bit.ly/carpooling-insta TikTok: https://bit.ly/TikTokCarpoooling Free Stickers: https://bit.ly/CarpoolingStickers Book a Shout Out: https://bit.ly/booktheshoutout Submit a Question: https://bit.ly/4bgCQir Carpooling with Jesus is a Christian kids podcast that helps families grow in faith through fun, practical Bible lessons. Hey Carpool Crew! Have you ever noticed a kid who always seems to be by themselves? In today's episode, Pastor Justin explores Romans 15:7 and challenges kids to see people the way Jesus sees them. The Apostle Paul writes, "Welcome one another, just as Christ also welcomed you." That's a simple verse with a powerful message. Kids will learn practical ways to include others, start conversations, and build friendships by showing the same kindness and welcome that Jesus offers each of us. They'll discover that small acts of friendship can have a huge impact. Today's big idea: You welcome others the same way Jesus welcomes you. June 9 | When Your Best Friend Moves Away | Devotional for Kids Carpooling with Jesus Kids Devotional
Hey Carpool Crew! What happens when your best friend moves away? In today's episode, Pastor Justin talks about one of the hardest parts of growing up: saying goodbye to a close friend. Whether it's a move across town or across the country, it can feel like everything is changing. The plans you made together disappear, and you may wonder if your friendship will ever be the same. Using Proverbs 17:17, "A friend loves at all times," kids will discover that real friendship is about more than living nearby. Long before phones, video calls, and text messages existed, God knew that true friends would find ways to stay connected, encourage one another, and care for each other no matter the distance. This episode helps children process the sadness of a friend moving away while giving practical ways to keep friendships strong. Kids will learn how sending messages, making phone calls, sharing funny pictures, and praying for friends can help maintain meaningful relationships even when miles separate them. Today's big idea: Real friendship doesn't end with distance. If your child is facing a move, missing a friend, or learning how to stay connected with people they care about, this encouraging devotional reminds them that great friendships can continue to grow even when life changes. https://carpoolingwithjesus.com Listen & Subscribe Apple Podcasts: https://apple.co/4gUygJo Carpooling with Jesus: https://apple.co/3Zt7lvO Goodnight Psalms: https://apple.co/4nPQBJy Carpooling with Heroes of the Bible: https://apple.co/42UWrBm Subscribe on Spotify: https://bit.ly/SpotifySubscribe Spotify Plus: https://bit.ly/SpotifyPlus Facebook Group: https://bit.ly/CPWJFB YouTube: https://bit.ly/YoutubeCPWJ Instagram: https://bit.ly/carpooling-insta TikTok: https://bit.ly/TikTokCarpoooling Free Stickers: https://bit.ly/CarpoolingStickers Book a Shout Out: https://bit.ly/booktheshoutout Submit a Question: https://bit.ly/4bgCQir Carpooling with Jesus is a Christian kids podcast that helps families talk about real-life challenges through the lens of Scripture. BONUS | Ep 1 | God Saw Rahab | Carpooling with Heroes of the Bible
Hey Carpool Crew! Who was Rahab, and why would God choose her to play such an important role in one of the Bible's most incredible stories? In Episode 1 of our five-part series on Rahab the Brave Believer, we travel to the ancient city of Jericho, one of the oldest fortified cities in the world. As Joshua prepares the Israelites to enter the Promised Land, two spies are sent into the city and find themselves at the home of an unexpected woman named Rahab. At first glance, Rahab seems like the last person anyone would expect God to use. She lived on the edge of society, carried a difficult reputation, and wasn't part of God's chosen people. Yet God saw something deeper. Join Pastor Justin as we discover how God often chooses people the world overlooks and why Rahab's story is still encouraging kids and families thousands of years later. Kids will learn: • Who Rahab was and where she lived • Why Jericho was such an important city • Why the Israelite spies came to Rahab's house • How God sees people differently than the world does • Why no one is invisible to God Key Scriptures: Joshua 2:1-3 1 Samuel 16:7 Discussion Questions: Has there ever been a time you felt overlooked? What would change about your day tomorrow if you really believed God sees you right where you are? Rahab's story begins with a powerful reminder: God sees people others ignore. While the world often focuses on popularity, success, appearance, or status, God looks at the heart. The same God who saw Rahab in Jericho sees you today. May 31 | Who Is Jesus to You? | Devotional for Kids Carpooling with Jesus Kids Devotional
Hey Carpool Crew! Summer is finally here, and today Pastor Justin asks one of the most important questions anyone can ever answer: Who is Jesus to you? In this special summer kickoff episode, we look at a moment when Jesus asked His disciples what people were saying about Him. Everyone seemed to have an opinion. Some thought He was a prophet. Others thought He was someone else from the Bible. But Jesus wasn't interested in what everyone else thought. He asked a personal question: "Who do you say that I am?" That same question still matters today. Kids will learn that faith isn't about borrowing someone else's answer. It's about discovering who Jesus is for themselves. Whether you're spending summer with family, at camp, with friends, or just enjoying a break from school, this episode encourages listeners to spend time getting to know Jesus personally. Today's Bible Verse: Matthew 16:15 (CSB) Big Idea: You decide who Jesus is to you. What Kids Will Learn: • Why Jesus asked His disciples who they believed He was • Why everyone has to answer that question for themselves • Simple ways to grow closer to Jesus this summer • How faith becomes personal and real Summer Challenge: • Start each morning by saying, "Hi, Jesus." • Read one chapter from Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John each week. • Be ready to tell others who Jesus is to you. May 29 | Stop Walking Past | Carpooling with Jesus Devotional for Kids
Hey Carpool Crew, Kids have a short list of who counts. The friends they sit with at lunch. The kids on their team. The group at recess. Everybody else gets walked past. Today on Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin walks kids through Luke 10:36 and the story of the Good Samaritan. The point lands different for kids than they expect. A priest walked past. A temple worker walked past. The Samaritan, who nobody thought would help, stopped. He bandaged the man on the side of the road. He put him on his own donkey. He paid for his room at the inn and told the innkeeper, "If it costs more, I'll pay when I come back." Jesus' question lands on all of us. Which one was the neighbor? This Friday episode gives kids three real moves to try this weekend. The stop-and-check move. The helpful-without-being-asked move. The "ask Jesus who I keep walking past" move. Hey Carpool Crew, Most kids keep score. Not on purpose. It just happens. The sibling who keeps doing the thing that bugs them. The friend who hurt their feelings again. The kid at school who said something mean and they can still feel it days later. Each one gets added to a quiet list in their head. And the longer the list, the heavier it gets. Today on Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin walks kids through Matthew 18:22, where Peter walks up to Jesus and asks how many times he has to forgive somebody. Peter guesses seven. Jesus says seventy times seven. The point isn't the math. The point is stop counting. Forgiveness doesn't have a number on it. This episode gives kids three real forgiveness moves to try this week. Hey Carpool Crew! Most kids think prayer is something fancy. Quiet church voice. Hands folded. Eyes squeezed shut extra tight. Special words they're not sure they can pull off. So a lot of kids skip it because they're not sure they're doing it right. Today on Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin walks kids through Luke 11:1, where Jesus' own friends asked Him, "Lord, teach us to pray." Jesus didn't hand them a complicated formula. He gave them a short, real, honest prayer we now call the Lord's Prayer. The point lands clean for kids. God is close. He's listening. You don't need fancy words to talk to Him. This episode gives kids three real prayer moves to try this week. The wake-up prayer. The middle-of-the-moment prayer. The two-sentence bedtime prayer. May 26 | Be With Jesus Before You Work for Jesus | Carpooling with Jesus Kids Podcast Christian
Hey Carpool Crew! Today's episode is built on Luke 10:41. Martha is hustling to make everything perfect while her sister Mary just sits with Jesus. Martha gets frustrated and calls Jesus out, but Jesus reminds her that being with him matters more than working for him. One Thing to Remember: Be with Jesus before you work for Jesus. Three ways kids can practice this week: In the morning, take 30 seconds to say, "Jesus, here's my day. Stay with me in it." Pick one car ride this week to play a worship song instead of scrolling. May 25 | Make Room for the Kid No One Else Is | Carpooling with Jesus Kids Podcast
Hey Carpool Crew! Pastor Justin kicks off the week with a shout out to Harper in Maryvale, Tennessee, and a challenge for the whole carpool crew: make room for the kid no one else is making room for. Today's episode walks kids through Mark 10:14, when the disciples tried to block parents from bringing their kids to Jesus. Jesus stopped everything, called the kids over, and reminded everyone that they were never in the way. One Thing to Remember: Make room for the kid no one is making room for. Three things kids can do this week: Find one kid sitting alone at lunch and ask to sit with them. Say yes the first time a younger sibling wants to hang out. Look for the kid not playing at recess and invite them in. Family Discussion Question: Why was it important to Jesus to tell the disciples to let all the kids come to him? May 22 | Stop and Say Thank You Out Loud | Devotional for Kids Carpooling with Jesus Kids Devotional
Hey Carpool Crew! In today’s episode, Pastor Justin shares the story from Luke chapter 17 where Jesus heals ten men with leprosy, but only one comes back to say thank you. All ten men experienced a miracle. All ten were healed. But only one stopped what he was doing, turned around, and thanked Jesus with a grateful heart. This episode teaches kids why gratitude matters and how easy it can be to rush through life without noticing all the good gifts God has given us. From family and food to friendship and help from others, Jesus invites us to slow down, notice blessings, and say thank you out loud. Kids will learn: Why only one healed man returned to thank Jesus How gratitude changes our attitude Why saying thank you matters to God and people Simple ways to practice thankfulness every day How to notice blessings we often overlook Scripture Referenced: Luke 17:15 (CSB) Today’s challenge: Before you go to bed tonight, think of one thing you’re thankful for and say it out loud. May 21 | Jesus Is Bigger Than the Storms Inside You | Devotional for Kids Carpooling with Jesus Kids Devotional
Hey Carpool Crew! In today’s episode, Pastor Justin shares the incredible story from Mark chapter 4 when Jesus calmed a massive storm with just three words: “Silence. Be still.” The disciples were terrified as waves crashed into their boat and the wind shook everything around them. But while everyone else panicked, Jesus stood up calmly and showed that even the wind and waves obey Him. This episode reminds kids that Jesus is not only bigger than storms outside the boat, but also the storms happening inside our hearts and minds. Whether it’s anxiety, fear, frustration, sadness, or stress, Jesus cares about every loud feeling we carry. Kids will learn: Why the disciples were so afraid during the storm How Jesus responded with peace instead of panic What to do when emotions feel overwhelming Why talking about your worries helps How prayer invites Jesus into hard moments Scripture Referenced: Mark 4:39 (CSB) Today’s challenge: When your thoughts or emotions start feeling loud this week, stop and take three slow breaths while praying: “Jesus, be still.” Then talk to someone you trust about what’s going on inside your heart. May 20 | Choose People Over Your Own Comfort | Devotional for Kids Carpooling with Jesus Kids Devotional
Hey Carpool Crew! In today’s episode, Pastor Justin talks about a moment in Mark chapter 6 when Jesus and His disciples were completely exhausted and desperately needed rest. But when they arrived at a quiet place, thousands of people were already waiting for them. Instead of getting frustrated or sending everyone away, Jesus responded with compassion. Even though He was tired, He chose to care for people anyway. This episode helps kids understand that kindness and love are often most important when we don’t feel like giving them. Whether it’s helping a sibling, listening to a friend, or pitching in at home, Jesus teaches us to put people before our own comfort. Kids will learn: Why Jesus chose compassion even when He was exhausted How to help others when you feel tired or frustrated Why kindness matters most in everyday moments Practical ways to serve family members and friends How following Jesus sometimes means putting others first Scripture Referenced: Mark 6:34 (CSB) Today’s challenge: Before saying “no” when someone asks for help this week, pause and ask yourself: “How can I help?” Then choose one kind thing you can do for someone else without complaining or making a big deal about it. May 19 | One Conversation Can Change Everything | Devotional for Kids Carpooling with Jesus Kids Devotional
Hey Carpool Crew! In today’s episode, Pastor Justin shares the powerful story of Jesus meeting the woman at the well from John chapter 4. But Jesus noticed her, talked with her kindly, and treated her like she mattered. Because she did. This episode reminds kids that small moments of kindness, attention, and conversation can make a huge difference in someone’s life. Sometimes all it takes is saying hello, asking someone to sit with you, or noticing the person everyone else overlooks. May 8 | Should Christians Follow the Rules? | Kids Devotional About Doing What’s Right | Carpooling with Jesus
Hey Carpool Crew! Today we’re talking about one of the smartest answers Jesus ever gave. Some religious leaders tried to trap Him with a tricky question about taxes, government, and Caesar… but Jesus stayed calm, thought clearly, and pointed everyone back to what matters most: honoring God above all. May 7 | Can We Really Trust Jesus? | Kids Devotional About Jesus Clearing the Temple | Carpooling with Jesus
Hey Carpool Crew! Today we’re talking about one of the most intense moments in Jesus’ ministry when He walked into the temple and flipped over tables! Why would Jesus do something like that? And what does it teach us about trusting Him? In this episode, Pastor Justin walks through John 2:18 and explains why Jesus cared so deeply about worship, people, and what was right. The religious leaders demanded proof that Jesus had authority, but Jesus pointed to the greatest proof of all: His death and resurrection. Kids will learn that we can trust Jesus not just because of what He said, but because of what He actually did for us. Today’s Big Idea: We can trust Jesus because of what He’s done for us. Bible Verse: John 2:18 (CSB) “What sign can you show us to prove your authority?” In This Episode, Kids Will Learn: Why Jesus cleared the temple What made Jesus angry in the temple courts Why the religious leaders questioned Jesus What Jesus meant when He said He would raise the temple in three days How Jesus proved who He is through His resurrection Why we can trust Jesus even when we have doubts Family Discussion Question: When you have doubts, what can you remember about what Jesus has already done? Parents: If your child enjoyed this episode, send Pastor Justin a message on Instagram @carpoolingwithjesus and share what stood out to your family. May 6 | Who Jesus Really Is | Devotional for Kids Carpooling with Jesus Kids Devotional
Hey Carpool Crew! 🚗 Pastor Justin here, and today we’re tackling a big question: Is Jesus just a really good teacher… or is He actually God? Today’s Big Truth: Jesus isn’t just a good teacher. He is God. In John 8:58, Jesus says something that caught everyone’s attention: “Before Abraham was, I am.” That might sound simple at first, but it was a huge statement. “I am” was the name God used for Himself in the Old Testament. So when Jesus said that, He wasn’t just saying He existed before Abraham. He was saying He is God. We break that down in a way kids can understand, including a simple school example that makes it click. Here’s why this matters for you today: Jesus knows everything about you Jesus has power over everything Jesus’ love for you is real and personal This isn’t just about knowing facts. It changes how you pray, how you trust Him, and how you live every day. When you talk to Jesus, you’re talking to God. When you feel scared, God is with you. When you follow Jesus, you’re following the One who made everything. Parent Action Step: Follow us on Instagram @carpoolingwithjesus for short clips, encouragement, and easy conversation starters you can use with your kids all week long. Family Discussion Question: Why do you think it matters that Jesus isn’t just a teacher, but actually God? May 5 | Born Again Explained | Devotional for Kids Carpooling with Jesus Kids Devotional
Hey Carpool Crew! 🚗 Pastor Justin here, and today we’re talking about something that might sound a little confusing at first… what does it actually mean to be “born again”? In John 3:3, Jesus says something that surprised a lot of people: you have to be born again to see the kingdom of God. But He wasn’t talking about starting life over as a baby. He was talking about something way deeper. Today’s Big Truth: Jesus gives you a brand new life on the inside. We walk through the story of Nicodemus and break down what Jesus really meant. It’s not about changing how you look on the outside. It’s about God changing your heart, your thoughts, and the way you treat people. We also share a real-life story about a kid named Tyler who messed up, felt it in his heart, and chose to talk to Jesus about it. What happened next? That’s exactly what “being made new” looks like. Here’s what you can do today: Be honest when you mess up Talk to Jesus about what’s going on inside Trust Him to change your heart over time You don’t just need better behavior. You need a new heart. And that’s exactly what Jesus gives. Parent Action Step: If this episode helped your family, share it with another parent today. A quick text or post can help another kid hear truth on their way to school. Family Discussion Question: What do you think it means to have a new heart on the inside?
