In this class we wrap up our discussion on chapter 7 and make some concluding observations about the 144,000 and the great multitude.

This week we explore the meaning of the 144,000 sealed individuals from the tribes of Israel in chapter 7, and we discuss the role of symbols in the book of Revelation.

In this class we discuss the purpose of imagery and symbolic language in the Bible, and we also begin looking at the 2 visions found in chapter 7.

In this class we return to chapter 6 to look at the seals 2-6. We look at some of the Old Testament passages that serve as a background to the 4 horsemen, reflect on the significance of the call of God's justice in the 5th seal, and discuss the potential ways to interpret the imagery we find in the 6th seal.

In this class we explore the next part of John's vision as the Lamb begins to break open the 7 seals. Our focus is primarily on the first 4 seals and their relation to the rest of the book and potential application to the present.

We return to chapter 5 and explore the reasons for the Lamb's exaltation to the right hand of the Almighty. We also discuss what the implications are for understanding this throne room scene to be fulfilled in Jesus' death, resurrection, and ascension to heaven.

Today we explore what the throne room scene in Revelation 4-5 teaches us about Christ's work on the cross and how it can impact how we read the chapters that follow.

Our discussion focuses on the 7 different letters for each church as found in chapters 2 and 3 of the book of Revelation. We also begin to talk about the relationship of the 7 letters to the rest of the visions found in the book.

Join us as we conclude our conversation about the letter to the Ephesian Church, explore the meaning of “overcome,” and begin to consider some big picture themes of the whole book.

We take a close look at the letter to the Ephesian Church in Revelation chapter 2.

We talk about the kind of letter that Revelation is and then reflect on the vision of Jesus in Rev 1:9-20 and how it reveals to us aspects of His nature.

After a quick review, we discuss some challenges with reading a book like Revelation such as defining the genre, in other words, the kind of writing we find in the book. In addition, we begin to read through the first chapter.

We explore Daniel 7 and the phrase “coming of the Son of Man,” and how it might relate to our understanding of End Times events.

This is the second session in our introduction to Revelation. We talk about our expectations and assumptions about the 2nd coming of Jesus.
