  17. 39

    Week 1

For many of us, life is most enjoyable when it's easy. James assures us that when we do face trials, we can count it as a joy because it builds our character, and Jesus considered the cross before him as a joy as well. Griffen Molenburg opens up this series with a dialed-in look of the words of James 1 and how our faith in Jesus is supposed to be active, not because our works save us, but because our faithful action is a response to us being saved by grace.

  18. 38

    Week 2

Paul spent a lot of his life building up his Jewish reputation: circumcised, a teacher of the Law, and righteous in the eyes of those who knew him. But when he came to know Jesus, every gain that Paul had acquired became meaningless to him because the greatest gain was knowing Jesus and the power of His resurrection. For the things that we gain in this life, do we consider them to be loss because knowing Christ is the greatest treasure?

  19. 37

    Week 1

In this sermon, Griffen Molenburg leads us through Philippians 2, a word from Paul that points us to Jesus Christ, our chief example of humility, and how we are to embrace that humility as we become lights in this world for His glory.

  22. 34

    Chapter 1

In 1 John 1, the apostle John assures us of this Word that was from the very beginning, this word that contained true life. With this light, we are to walk alongside and have fellowship with it. Central Youth director Griffen Molenburg looks at three main points we can gather from these 10 verses:•God is light•You can't fake fellowship•Confession brings cleansing

  23. 33

    Why do you doubt?

In the conclusion of this serious, senior student Jack Kelderman reads the account of Jesus walking on the water towards the disciples and Peter getting out of the boat to walk towards Him. After Peter loses His focus on Jesus and He pulls him back up, He asks him the question, "why did you doubt?" How can we combat the doubts about who Jesus is in our lives?

  24. 32

    What Do You Seek?

In the gospel of John, the first recorded words of Jesus is a profound question: 'what do you seek?' Griffen Molenburg examines this question by Jesus and encourages three considerations that we are to have: consider the claim, consider the invite, consider the transformation.

  25. 31

Why Do You Call Me Lord?

Central Youth leader Carson Doak gives a message on a question that Jesus asks in Luke 6: "Why do you call me Lord, Lord, and not do what I tell you?"

  26. 30

Do You Want To Get Well?

In the gospel books, we see Jesus ask several questions that left a life-changing impact on different people. In the first week of this new series, Griffen Molenburg visits the question that Jesus asks the paralytic at the Pool of Bethesda, "do you want to get well?"

  27. 29

    Week 3

Former Central Youth student Will Goemaat encourages us to go and make disciples, the parting statement Jesus gives to His disciples before He ascends back into heaven.

  28. 28

    Week 2

In Matthew 20, Jesus has an interesting conversation with the mother of James and John, and this text shows us three conditions: the condition of humanity, the condition of discipleship, and the condition of the gospel. Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve. As followers of Him, we are to model the same heart of servanthood towards others.

  29. 27

    Week 6

Griffen Molenburg concludes the series on Galatians by teaching on the seeds that we sow in our lives.

  30. 26

    Week 5

Youth leader Carson Doak breaks down Galatians 5, seeking how we are to live fruitful lives empowered by the Holy Spirit.

  31. 25

    Week 4

Former youth student Gus Bunnell shares a message on Galatians 4, where Paul uses imagery of Mount Sinai and Jerusalem to convey that we are no longer slaves to this world, but that we have been set free in Christ.

  32. 24

    Week 3

In the book of Galatians, we see that we are set free by Jesus Christ and the grace that He extends to us. Charlie Goemaat, one of our youth students, breaks down Galatians 3 into 3 main points: that we are saved by grace, that the Law doesn't justify us, and that when we come to Christ, our labels are changed forever.

  33. 23
  34. 22

    Week 1

Paul assures us that there is no other gospel than the one of Jesus Christ.

  35. 21

Week 3: I Am the Resurrection and the Life

Jesus Christ meets Martha and Mary at the tomb of their dead brother, Lazarus, and gives them the hope that their brother will rise again. "I am the resurrection and the life. Everyone who believes in me, though they die, yet shall they live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die."

  36. 20
  37. 19

    Week 3

In this series on Unshakeable Faith, we're looking at examples in the Bible where people had a faith in the Lord that was not based upon their circumstance, but on who God is and their unwavering devotion to Him. Carson Doak, a senior at Central Youth, talks about the life of Paul and how he exemplified a deep, immovable faith in the Lord.

  38. 18

    Week 2

Life is not rid of struggle or challenge. That's what this whole series is about; having a faith that is so strong that, when the deepest challenges come, we don't waiver, but we stand firm. One of the best examples of that comes from the life of Job, a man who was upright and truly feared the Lord. When Satan tests him and leaves his life in ruins, how does Job respond? Devin Dailey, a Central Youth leader, tells the story of Job and how, because of how he responded, we can have an unshakeable faith.

  39. 17

    Counting The Cost

As we conclude our series on the parables of Jesus, Griffen Molenburg looks at one of Jesus' toughest teachings. If we are to follow Him, what does that look like to us? More importantly, what does it cost us? Jesus assures us that following Him comes at an extreme cost. That cost? Giving Him our entire lives.

  40. 16

The Parable of the Lost Son

When we think of God as our Father, how do we view Him? Jesus depicts the passion of God's love through this story of the lost son, who left his home, spoiled all of his inheritance, and came back home with the expectation that he would become one of his father's servants. Instead, he found his father running towards him and met him with a wholehearted embrace. That's the same love that our Father in heaven meets us with.

  41. 15

The Parable of the Lost Sheep

We begin a new series on the parable teachings of Jesus. Parables are creative illustrations and stories that Jesus used to deliver a point He was trying to make. To start the series, we're looking at the parable of the lost sheep. Jac Munson gives us three main topics that we can gather from the passage to bring a little more clarity to the passage: self-righteousness vs. humility, the deep love of the Father, and the need for repentance.

  42. 14

    Week 4

In this message, Will Goemaat wraps up our sermon series on 'The Power of Prayer'. We've been talking about the power and importance of prayer, and Will concludes with the importance of the posture of your heart when you pray.

  43. 13

    Week 2

When we think of prayer, we often think of the physical act of speaking to God. We approach Him with thanksgiving, we present our requests, and we lift up the heavy things on our hearts and the lives of those around us. How often do we think of prayer as just listening? In 1 Samuel, we see Samuel in this conversation with the Lord, and in the most pivotal moment, we see Samuel say, "speak, Lord, for your servant is listening." Griffen Molenburg shares the importance of listening to God through the mode of prayer.

  44. 12

    Week 1

How does prayer impact our lives? Hailey Swan, one of our Central Youth leaders, shares her testimony and the significant role that prayer has played in her story.

  45. 11

    The Divine Playbook

Much like a game, we can either play two roles: we can be a spectator, or we can be a player. Having a faith in Jesus Christ and living it out excuses us out of our seats and puts us right in the game. Griffen Molenburg concludes the Spiritually Fit series talking about being spectators vs. players.

  46. 10

    Perseverance and Endurance

Life is a lot like a race. The harder you sprint, the shorter you'll last. In our faith, how are we able to persevere through trials and difficult moments? How does our faith help us to last through those challenges? Elena Garcia, a senior in Central Youth, breaks down Hebrews 12, talking about how endurance plays a part in being spiritually fit.

  47. 9

    Habits and Discipline

When we think about fitness, we naturally gravitate towards our physical health. We engage in workouts and training to get in the best shape so that we can compete or perform at the best level possible. But do we ever think about our spiritual fitness? Will Goemaat, a senior at Central Youth, shares about how habits and disciplines greatly influence our spiritual fitness.

  48. 8

    Who is the Lamb?

A Christmas message at Central Youth

  49. 7

Week 3: How Do We Battle Sin?

Sin is an ongoing battle that we constantly fight in this life. How can we have the power to stand against it? Gus Bunnell breaks down the armor of God that we are to put on, so that we don't fall victim to sin, but that we stand strong against it
