Growing up in Haiti, the church was supposed to be a place of guidance. While we did get great wisdom from our religion, we also found many inconsistencies: Judgment instead of compassion. Fear of hell instead of Christ’s message of love. Sermons on spiritual warfare while the daily behavior of church members told a different story.
