Life inevitably brings storms - stress, family tension, relationship struggles, and uncertainty about the future. The story of Jesus calming the storm in Mark 4 teaches us that storms aren't always accidents but can be part of God's plan. When the disciples panicked and accused Jesus of not caring, He demonstrated His power by calming the wind and waves. Storms reveal what we truly believe about Jesus and who we turn to during difficult times. While we can't control every storm, we can choose to trust Jesus and remember that He's in the boat with us through every challenge.

Life often feels like a competition where everyone else seems ahead, but God has designed a unique race specifically for you. Hebrews 12:1 calls us to run with perseverance the race marked out for us, following the example of faithful biblical heroes like Abraham and Moses. Perseverance in faith means staying faithful when no one notices, choosing obedience when it's difficult, and trusting God's timing when others seem ahead. Comparison either leads to pride or discouragement, both of which rob us of joy. The goal isn't to finish first but to finish faithful through consistent prayer, loving like Jesus, and being intentional in spiritual practices.

What's your best excuse for not turning in your homework? How about this: unlimited phone battery or unlimited Wi-Fi connection? But most importantly...how are you recharging your soul?!

Are your closest friends pulling you toward God or away from Him? The people you choose to do life with will shape who you become. Even Jesus was intentional about his inner circle. Time to evaluate: Do your three closest friends encourage your faith or make it harder to live out your values? Your future self will thank you for the intentional choices you make today about the company you keep.
