Healing From Invisible Abuse
On this episode of Conversations That Heal, I sit down with JaHana Holloway to have a powerful and honest conversation about abuse that goes beyond physical signs, emotional, psychological, verbal, and financial abuse. JaHana shares her story with deep vulnerability, taking us back to her childhood, where she ran away at just 14 and was coerced by an adult. She opens up about how those early experiences shaped her sense of self, leading to boundarylessness, low self-esteem, promiscuity, early motherhood, and a pattern of toxic relationships and trauma bonds. She walks us through the abrupt ending of her marriage in 2020, which became the catalyst for her healing journey. She speaks candidly about the gaslighting, hidden debt, and manipulation she endured forms of abuse that are often invisible to others. Her breaking point came through infidelity and financial deception, forcing her to confront the truth and choose herself. JaHana reminds us that healing is ongoing. She emphasizes the importance of trusting your intuition and listening to your body, setting firm boundaries, and doing the deeper work, inner child and shadow work, alongside therapy. She also shares about her poetry and journaling book, Metamorphosis, and her Hikari Healing Space, where she creates safe environments for healing through yoga, sound bowl therapy, and intentional circles for both women and men. This conversation is a reminder that not all wounds are visible, but they are real, and healing is possible. Survival Mode
In this episode of Conversations That Heal, I talk about survival mode, the way many of us learned to function just to make it through life. For me, survival started early. I didn’t have the option to fall apart. I had to be strong, responsible, and aware of everything around me. But what helped me survive then, followed me into adulthood. I share how survival mode can show up as overachieving, overextending, and always feeling the need to be in control, while quietly feeling exhausted and empty. If you’ve ever felt like you’re doing everything but still don’t feel at peace, this episode is for you. This is your invitation to slow down, choose yourself, and begin the journey of coming back home to who you truly are. You deserve more than survival. You deserve peace.

Choosing You: Healing, Grief, Self-Dating & Rediscovering Yourself | Q&A
In this Q&A episode of Conversations That Heal, I open the door for real, honest conversation by answering questions submitted by listeners at [email protected] I share what “choosing you” truly looks like in everyday life, through small, intentional decisions, learning to say no, and finally prioritizing yourself after realizing what it feels like to be poured out and depleted from putting everyone else first. I walk through how I process hurt, by acknowledging it, taking accountability for my part, and getting honest about what caused the pain. I also speak openly about my ongoing healing journey from molestation, and how forgiveness, self-forgiveness, and learning my triggers have been a part of that process. I even reflect on a difficult but necessary conversation with my mother. This episode also dives into grief, grieving the loss of my best friend and grieving the life I once imagined. I share how I’ve learned to allow myself to feel grief fully, without allowing it to keep me stuck. Travel has played a major role in my healing, and I talk about how experiences in places like Pretoria and Bali helped me reconnect with myself and cultivate a deeper sense of gratitude. I also offer practical ways to rediscover who you are, starting with reconnecting to the dreams you had as a child, and I break down what it really means to date yourself. From solo coffee dates and meals to traveling alone and journaling, I share how spending intentional time with yourself can be one of the most powerful forms of healing. Letter To My Younger Self
I wrote a letter to my younger self, and it changed something in me. Not the strong version of me you see today. But the little girl who felt unseen, unloved, and unprotected. I spoke to Diane. I apologized. I affirmed. I released. And for the first time, I made her a promise, I will never abandon you again. This episode is deeply personal, but it’s also an invitation. If you’ve ever carried shame from your past If parts of your story still hurt I want you to try this. Write the letter. Not for anyone else, but for you. Healing begins when we finally tell the truth to ourselves with love. Grief Is Not Only About Death
When people think about grief, they often think about death. But grief can come from many different experiences in life. We can grieve lost opportunities. We can grieve relationships that ended. We can grieve the version of ourselves that existed before trauma. And sometimes we grieve the life we thought we would have. In this episode of Conversations That Heal, Dr. Stephanie Jeffreys explores the many forms of grief that people carry silently. She reminds listeners that grief is not limited to losing someone physically, it can also come from losing dreams, connections, and chapters of our lives that we can never return to. Healing begins when we give ourselves permission to acknowledge those losses and move forward with compassion for ourselves.

They Are Not Your Responsibility
They Are Not Your Responsibility There comes a moment in healing when you realize that love does not require self-abandonment. In today’s episode of Conversations That Heal, we’re talking about one of the hardest truths to accept: they are not your responsibility. Not their healing. Not their choices. Not their emotional regulation. Not the outcomes of their lives. If you’ve been the fixer, the caretaker, the emotional anchor, or the one who feels guilty for choosing yourself, this conversation is for you. We unpack how trauma, survival patterns, and learned roles can quietly convince you that it’s your job to carry others, even when it costs you your peace. This episode is about releasing misplaced responsibility, breaking cycles of overgiving, and giving yourself permission to step out of roles you were never meant to hold. You can love people deeply without saving them. You can care without carrying. You can choose yourself without being cruel. If this episode resonates, I invite you to sit with what comes up, and when you’re ready, take the next step in your healing journey. I Don't Know
There’s a season of life no one talks about, the “I don’t know” season. The space where grief, life changes, failed relationships, and old wounds collide. The place where certainty fades and you’re left trying to figure out who you are now and what comes next. In this episode, I talk honestly about navigating the “I don’t know” season—the discomfort, the questions, the loss, and the quiet healing that begins even when clarity hasn’t arrived yet. Welcome to 2026
What if gratitude wasn’t just about thanking people for what they gave you, but also for what they couldn’t? In this episode, I share the thank-you notes I wrote for 2026… and they aren’t the kind you’d expect. I thanked people for not prioritizing me. For not showing up. For giving the bare minimum. For being exactly who they were. For not having the capacity to be who they told me they were. These thank-you notes weren’t written from bitterness. They were written from clarity. Because sometimes the greatest gift someone gives you is information. Information that frees you from expectations. Information that teaches you where to stop overextending. Information that invites you to choose yourself, without guilt. This conversation explores emotional maturity, radical acceptance, and learning how to release resentment without minimizing your own needs. It’s about using gratitude as a tool for healing, not self-betrayal. I invite you to join me in this practice. Comment your own thank-you note and share the topic of what you’re thanking someone for. Love, Loss and Navigating
On July 31, 2025, I lost my best friend of 45 years, Derika. Our mothers were best friends, and from the very beginning, she was more than a friend she was my sister. Her love, laughter, and presence helped shape the woman I am today. This special episode of Conversations That Heal is my heartfelt tribute to her life and the bond we shared. It’s a conversation about grief, love, and how healing continues even when our hearts are broken. As I honor Derika’s memory, I also want to remind others that grief is not something we “get over.” It’s something we learn to carry with grace, gratitude, and love. Thank you for listening, for healing with me, and for allowing me to share a piece of my heart with you.

Resilience Pays Off
In this powerful episode of Conversations That Heal, we’re joined by Carla A. Pinto — a New York attorney whose story is a testament to grit, resilience, and the courage to reinvent yourself. Carla took the bar exam not once, not twice, but eight times over four relentless years — without a single break. Each failure chipped away at her confidence, while workplace betrayals and crumbling relationships intensified the pressure. Behind her professional composure, Carla cried herself home every night, struggling under the weight of expectations, isolation, and self-doubt. Her breakthrough came when she finally surrendered — not to defeat, but to faith. She gave her burden to God, shifted her focus from passing the test to healing her spirit, and in February 2019, she passed the bar. But three years later, success didn’t feel like she imagined. She realized the career she had fought so hard for wasn’t fulfilling her anymore. That realization led Carla on a journey of self-discovery — and to the surprising world of modeling. What started as a side interest opened new doors, reminded her of her power, and helped her redefine success on her own terms. This episode is a raw, honest conversation about perseverance, identity, mental health, and the radical freedom that comes from letting go of society’s expectations. Key Takeaways: Never give up on your dreams — but make sure they’re still your dreams. Your mindset can either be your prison or your path to peace. You’re allowed to pivot, evolve, and build a life that truly makes you happy. The Power of a Mothers Love
In this deeply moving episode of Conversations That Heal, we sit down with Svetlana Serigny — a multilingual mother, chemist, MBA graduate, and passionate advocate for alternative healing — as she shares the extraordinary survival story of her son Marc. After experiencing profound personal losses, including the heartbreaking loss of twins at 29 weeks and a painful divorce, Svetlana found hope again through her “last chance” baby, Marc — born healthy after her fourth round of IVF. But her world shifted once more in 2016 when 4-year-old Marc, previously asymptomatic, suddenly collapsed on a playground from a cardiac arrest caused by undiagnosed Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome. What followed was a journey of heartbreak, frustration with traditional healthcare, and the incredible resilience of a mother determined to help her son heal beyond what doctors thought possible. From the failures of standard rehabilitation in France to the revolutionary benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) in Israel under the guidance of Dr. Shai Efrati, Svetlana reveals how she took Marc’s recovery into her own hands — pursuing cutting-edge therapies, studying tirelessly, and connecting with global communities of hope. Svetlana’s story is not only a testament to medical advocacy, scientific curiosity, and maternal instinct, but also a reminder that healing often begins when we refuse to accept limitations. Marc, once wheelchair-bound, now walks independently — defying every odd.
