His 2018 Clemson Tigers have often been considered one of the greatest college football teams of all time. He is also the winningest head coach in Clemson football history.On September 8, 2022, Swinney signed a new contract extension that keeps him the head coach of the Clemson Tigers through the 2031 football season.Swinney is a Christian.
