This episode is short and sweet, but it is still so special to Sara. Christina, one of Sara’s youth group members, is pretty reserved and shy. So, you can only imagine the excitement Sara felt when Christina agreed to talk on the show, even for just a few minutes. Sara also didn’t feel well and couldn’t hang very long anyway.In the time they spent chatting together, Sara learned that Christina’s favorite part of Scripture is Genesis 1, where she enjoys reading about Creation.

Above all those things, she’s a follower of Christ who has truly been emboldened by His Spirit in the last few years. Jackson is an 8th grader this year and says he loves the entire book of Psalms because it’s the first book he remembers studying as a young kid. He has a positive mindset that most other kids his age haven’t reached yet, which is the result of only trusting the Lord.

Sara’s Mom, Debi, is this week’s guest! Mom goes into a little detail of her upbringing in church and then shares her favorite Scripture from Psalm 121. She says this passage reminds her to be thankful for the connection she feels with the Lord when she is outside amongst nature and His Creation. She absolutely loves the outdoors, and this passage was “made for her” because it tells her that God is her protector and that He will not use His Creation that she loves so much to harm her.

In this episode, another one of Sara’s youth group students gets to share their favorite Scripture! Whitney Hale is a sweet, young girl who gives 110% to everything she’s involved in, especially when it involves serving the Kingdom. As a new believer who accepted Christ just a few short months ago, she has such a beautiful perspective on things that some of us older believers have lost sight of.

Deuteronomy 31:8 & Psalm 46:5 with Linnea Estep | Episode 14
Linnea has been Sara’s comfort person since she was 3 years old. Growing up with Linnea as her youth group leader, Sara got a wonderful mentor and role model that she is forever grateful to God for. In this episode, “Nay” shares two verses that have given her strength in the midst of sorrow and grief, and also gives God praise for the strong women in her family that God has used to impact her along with these pieces of Scripture.Sara forgot to ask her the color question (if you know you know) at the beginning of the episode, but her answer would be purple because she “is a mix of blue and red”.

2 Corinthians 12:9&10 with Jon Milton | Episode 13
This episode is definitely the most unique one yet. You may notice that this episode is long, but do not let that stop you from listening! Sara’s brother, Jon, decides to read from 2 Corinthians 12 and then tells about many times God showed him that He was working in the weaknesses of his life and of the world. This Scripture tells us that He is stronger than all of the evil and wickedness in the world, and that his strength is made perfect in them. How comforting is that? Jon, who has both a Pentecostal and Catholic background, has some perspectives on Scripture that Sara had never really considered before as a Baptist, which made recording this episode so interesting and fun!

Mamaw Joan has been a big part of Sara’s life since the day she was born. Although she may not be her biological grandmother, she is a chosen one. Mamaw Joan shares a lot of memories from her childhood in this episode along with the impact her mother left on her life, which is so sweet when you hear the story of why this verse is her favorite.
