When the church lost the holy spirit

Leviticus 10:1 NIV [1] Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense; and they offered unauthorized fire before the Lord, contrary to his command.

We all know someone who used to be on fire for God — serving, leading, praying — and now they’re nowhere to be found. In this episode, we unpack what it really means when someone backslides, and how Jesus calls us to respond.

Some verses in the Bible stop us in our tracks, and 1 Corinthians 15:29 is one of them: “Why are people baptized for the dead?” What does Paul mean? Was the early church baptizing on behalf of those who passed away? Or is this a phrase we’ve simply lost to history?

Malachi 3:10 is a Bible verse that says, "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it". This verse is a divine invitation and challenge to God's people to return to Him by giving a tithe (one-tenth of their income or produce) to the Temple, with the promise of overflowing blessings in return. Does it apply today?

After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever1 Thesalonians 4:17
