WMU Graduate with bachelors in music composition. I'm interested in writing music for a large variety of uses- video games, videos, film, installations, live shows, etc. I wouldn't say I have a particular niche and haven't found my sound- I consider my writing style to always be gradually changing. Currently songwriting and starting up a band in the Kalamazoo area!

  1. 7

    (Preview) Juniper

I recently moved into a new place with some friends. The house has a decent sized attic that I could finally fit my drums, keyboard, guitars and everything into. It's become a bit of a home studio for me. I'm trying to get better recording gear but here's a demo of what I've recently been writing and recording. I've only my electric guitar since March but it's getting a lot of use. (Drums are MIDI for now)

  2. 6

    Reticent

A quartet I wrote for my senior recital at Western Michigan University, for piano, clarinet, cello, and vibraphone. I began thinking a lot differently about pitch, scales, and rhythm as I wrote this piece. It pulls inspiration from Toru Takemitsu, as well as Radiohead. (MIDI recording made with Logic Pro)

  3. 5

    Steap (STEAM Collaboration)

This piece was a collaboration between me, an art student, and 2 science students. I wrote it in my last year at Western Michigan University, using inspiration from a data analysis from a tea sample that my group chose. Together, the art student and I wrote a piece to be performed with a lighting sculpture. It is for 4 percussionists grouped around the sculpture, and uses triggered fixed media as well. Some of the percussion instruments are doumbeks, dun-duns, singing bowls, shaker, bodhrans, and even conch shell. I have not gotten a live recording of this yet- it works much well in a space, performed with real instruments. I always told the audience before the piece started, that it's a piece to get lost in- to let your mind drift to wherever it may while the piece unfolds. This is the MIDI recording made in Logic Pro.

  4. 4

    Club BGM

Background music for a video game project that didn't work out. It was planned to be used for a club or bar level in a city.

  5. 3

    Utopia (III. Destruction)

Movement 3 in my duet for Guitar + Marimba/Vibraphone with electronics. (MIDI recording made with Logic Pro)

  6. 2

    Utopia (I. Formation)

Movement 1 in my duet for Guitar + Marimba/Vibraphone with electronics. Enjoy, Utopia. (MIDI recording made with Logic Pro)

  7. 1

    Utopia (II. Completion)

Movement 2 in my duet for Guitar + Marimba/Vibraphone with electronics. Enjoy, Utopia. (MIDI recording made with Logic Pro)
