On this episode of the Discipled Podcast we sit down with Adam Sayler.  When Adam raised his hand to record his testimony for our community, one of the first things he said to me was "my life has been a series of miracles."  And boy was he right.  In fact, Adam's earliest memory as a child is a miracle.  God spared his life in a dramatic escape from a house fire at the age of three.  From that day forward, Adam's journey would persistently echo a resounding "but God".  The Lord made His presence known and established a firm foundation in Adam's life from a very young age, comforting him with a calm, reassuring presence that would carry Adam in peace through countless seasons of pain and adversity.  God would give Adam supernatural endurance, allowing him to beat the odds of a rare genetic kidney disease that should have killed him by his early 20's.  Instead of surrendering to the diagnosis, Adam would choose repeatedly to step forward boldly in faith, allowing God to have the final say in his future…a future that would involve a seventeen-year career in law enforcement and many other miracles along the way.  If your life could use an injection of hope and encouragement, you won't want to miss this powerful "but God" two-part testimony.  It's a remarkable story…we hope you'll join us. It's Valentine's Day!  And that means that it's Anniversary time for me and my beautiful bride Kelly.  Today we are celebrating 8 years of marriage and 12 years together.  About a year ago, as God began to reveal the Discipled vision to me, I felt a nudge from the Holy Spirit steering me towards capturing my wife's story as well as our testimony in marriage.  I felt strongly that she would need to be an intimate part of our mission, as she and I are one and we share in all the ups and downs of our collective journey in faith together.  So I planted a seed with Kelly in 2023 and PRAISE THE LORD I am now able to witness it come into bloom.  At 34 weeks pregnant, my wife (who told me that before we recorded her flesh would have chosen childbirth over a public testimony) courageously stepped out in faith to bare her soul and give our listeners an inside look at her personal journey in Christ as well as a unique view into our marriage and what it's been like to support me in my own walk.  We pray that this message will be of great impact to you and your families.  God has blessed us beyond measure.  To Him Be The Glory. Join us as we reconvene with Chris Riedy for Part 2 of an absolutely riveting testimony.  This is where the story gets really good.  In a hospital bed with a heart transplant looming, Chris was confronted with deep conviction while speaking with a visiting chaplain.  The message from The Lord was clear "either you choose to come back to me, or it's over."  Chris rededicated his life to Christ in that moment and he accepted a new mission, to introduce his wife to her Savior.  God redeemed Chris' life, blessing him with two new hearts, along with a renewed appetite for The Word and a passion for pursuing greater intimacy in his relationship with his faith.  In the days that followed, God would plant Chris in a new church that would invite powerful fellowship that would steer his wife and family towards the path of redemption, giving them the strength, hope and peace to endure any trial put in their path. In this episode, we sit down with Chris Riedy.  Chris is an amazing human being with quite a special heart (more on that to come!).  Chris grew up well rooted in the Christian faith.  His family was involved in the church and he became saved at a young age.  An active member of his youth group, Chris assumed the role of evangelist before many of us even understood the meaning of the word.  But by his late teens, Chris started to drift from his faith as an identity crisis began to take root in his life through sexual promiscuity and the introduction of a formidable idol, powerlifting.  In the years that followed, Chris would find himself in the throes of steroid use and alcohol abuse.  He would navigate several broken relationships and deteriorating physical health while trying to maintain a stable identity in his career and in his role as a father.  But despite his best efforts, there would be no escaping what was coming…if Chris was going to survive, he would need God to give him a new heart. We pick up Part 2 of Jonah's testimony from the friendly confines of in an inpatient mental health facility where Jonah's sanity is under question, but for the first time in a long time, he is clear – no drugs corrupting his focus, only a new awareness of God and a renewed sense of purpose.  He's alive, God's Will has prevailed and in the eyes of The Father, he recognizes for the first time that he is of great value.  Quite an amazing time for this message, given the blessing about to be bestowed upon Jonah's life.  God rescued Jonah, and He would continue to renew and transform his life, first through his body, then through his mind and finally through his heart as The Lord began to disciple him to ultimately carry the torch of fatherhood in his own family.  Led to lead - this is Jonah's redemption story. On this episode we sit down with Jonah Pulford.  Jonah is a man whose courage and resilience I admire greatly – his story is gripping and highly impactful.  In Part 1 of his testimony, we dig into the pressure cooker that drove Jonah as a child and as a young man, corrupting his identity and isolating him from the love and assurance that he longed for in a FATHER.  They say that pressure bursts pipes…and ultimately, following a devastating injury that derailed his athletic career, the pressure broke Jonah, leading him down a path of self-destruction highlighted by drug and alcohol abuse, and eventually an attempted suicide.  Jonah would make his best effort to check out of this life early, but God The Father, in His Perfect Love and Sovereignty would not allow it…there was far more to his story to be revealed. On this episode we pick back up for the second half of my personal testimony.  I've been born again, but in the months and years ahead it will be revealed that my journey in faith is only beginning.  Through seasons of ignorance, immaturity, wandering and flat-out disobedience, God will discipline me and prepare me for the call to discipleship, first in my home, and later as a servant leader of this amazing community of men of faith.
