What has Jesus done for us. Jesus gives us an example of how he served us on the cross and how he continues to serve us through the word and sacraments.

In Christ, God feeds us with the manna of His Word and the water of His forgiveness, satisfying our eternal hunger and quenching our spiritual thirst.

Jesus is risen and has fixed the problem of death and has restored our relationship with our Father in heaven.

Jesus, the lamb of God that carries the sin of the world, dies for sinners like me.

This is a parable which teaches us to be on guard against work righteousness, and cling only to God’s grace and promises through Christ Jesus. We see in this parable a warning against two attitudes both of which are sinful. On the one hand the sinful, wanton wastefulness of the younger son which indulges in sin is contrary to God’s word. On the other hand the puritanical attitude of the elder which despises all fun and even despises other sinners.

There are only two times when Jesus praises someone’s faith, both are gentiles. Those of us who have had the gospel since birth often take it for granted and fail to treasure it as we should. This woman who was born outside of God’s people truly treasured the gift she received in Jesus Christ.

Jesus has power even over death.

Jesus has power even over the storms. Our life is filled with storms but we can rest in Jesus.

The world is place of darkness which desperately needs the gospel. We are unworthy and insufficient to fulfill that need of preaching the gospel. Yet, Jesus calls us anyway. Through His promises and His power we are to do this great task. The fish are not caught by our wisdom or cunning but through Jesus’

Jesus comes to proclaim that we are released from sin. With Jesus the proclamation of the gospel always comes first. Those who will not accept Him as a savior from sin have no part in Him. Jesus told Peter unless He washes his feet, peter has no part with Him. We often like to hear

In His first miracle at Cana in Galilee, Jesus showed that He is God. Through God’s Word and physical means—water, bread, and wine—God shows us that Jesus is our Savior.

God’s wrath came upon the people of Israel because of their sin, but His mercy came through a bronze serpent on a cross. So also God’s wrath comes upon this world because of our sins, but His mercy and forgiveness comes through Jesus who hung on a cross for our sins

In the tabernacle God dwelt with His people. In Jesus God dwells with us. Many of the aspects of both the tabernacle and our churches are a reminder of our sin, God’s holiness, and the rest that God gives us in Jesus

The Law kills, but the Gospel revives. “For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:17). Law/Gospel The Ten Commandments define God’s Law. Jesus, through His incarnation and by His suffering and death for my sins, defines God’s love and mercy toward me.

As God saved the Hebrews through the water of the Red Sea. He saves us through the washing of water in Holy Baptism, conquering Satan, our greatest enemy.

The Passover was a look back on the great salvation which God accomplished for Israel to bring them up out of the land of Egypt. It was also a looking forward to the coming of the Messiah. Christ is our Passover Lamb, whose blood was shed for our forgiveness, life, and salvation.

Through a series of horrific plagues, God pun ished the Egyptians for their sinful treatment of God's people and freed His people from bondage. Through His horrific suffering and death on the cross, Jesus takes the punishment for our sin and frees us from sin's bondage.

As God had Moses remove the sandals from his feet, God, in Christ, removes our sins from us, making us fit to approach God and stand in His presence.

Through Moses, the Lord saved His people from slavery in Egypt. Through Christ, God saves all people from the bondage of sin and death.

Joseph revealed himself to his brothers and forgave them. Our Lord Jesus Christ reveals Himself to us and forgives us in His Holy Word and Sacraments.

God used Joseph to save His people, all Egypt, and other nations from famine. He sent His Son, Jesus, to save all humanity from sin, death, and the devil. The Lord was with Joseph and, through him, saved Joseph’s family and others. God promises to be with us in every situation, and through His Son, Jesus, & descendant of Joseph’s brother Judah, God saves us from our sin.

Joseph was hated by his brothers, who threatened him with death and sold him into slavery, but he was rescued by God. God’s Son, Jesus, was also hated and was killed for our sin. He is our deliverer from sin, death, and the power of the devil.

Jesus will come again to judge the living and the dead. We do not know when, therefore we ought to watch and be always ready.

Jesus prays in the garden that he might not have to go through the suffering, but submits to God’s will.

Jesus shows John what heaven will be like.

Peter is convinced that he will never deny Jesus. But in his pride falls victim to Satan’s temptations. Jesus encourages Peter and the other disciples to recognize their own weakness, and when they do fail to trust in his forgiveness.

Men care about money and look at appearances. God judges the heart.

Despite their sin, God fulfills his promise to bring his people back to Judah.
