The Danger of Hypocrisy (Luke 12:1-3)

In this message from Luke 12:1–3, Pastor Steven begins a new sermon series, “Hidden Spiritual Dangers,” by focusing on Jesus’ warning to “beware… the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.” He explains that hypocrisy is a hidden heart danger that can quietly grow, damage a believer’s testimony, and deceive spiritually. Using illustrations like clutter hidden in drawers and mold spreading in a house, he highlights three consequences: hypocrisy spreads like leaven and influences others; hidden hypocrisy will be exposed because nothing covered or concealed will remain secret; and whispered hypocrisy—private words, gossip, and criticism—will one day be made public. He urges the church to reject hidden sin, remember God sees and hears all, repent, and live honestly in the light of God’s truth rather than managing appearances.

    Christ's Love For His Church

This Ephesians 5 sermon on Christ’s love for the church will help you understand church unity from a biblical perspective. If you are searching for clear biblical teaching on the church, this message explains how Jesus Christ loves the church, sanctifies His people, and secures the future of the body of believers. In this message, you will see how Christ’s sacrificial love for the church is not based on performance, but on His finished work. This Bible preaching message walks through Ephesians 5:25–27 and shows how the church as the body of believers is deeply loved by Christ and cared for through sanctification by the Word of God. This sermon also addresses spiritual growth through trials, enduring faith through adversity, and strengthening the church family during difficult seasons. As an independent Baptist church, we believe in clear KJV preaching and biblical doctrine on the church, helping believers remain faithful in times of testing. You will learn about the bride of Christ, the importance of church unity, and the role of the Holy Spirit in sanctification. This message is a call to faithful church commitment and a reminder that Jesus Christ is still building His church. If you are looking for Baptist preaching in Calgary or searching for a Bible preaching church that teaches biblical church doctrine, this message will encourage you to stay grounded in God’s Word and committed to the local church. 00:00 Introduction 09:51 Way #1: Christ’s Sacrificial Love 16:05 Way #2: Christ Sanctifies His Church 21:54 Way #3: Christ Secures the Church 23:20 Final Encouragement

    When Religion Hides Corruption

You can look spiritually clean on the outside while hiding a corrupt heart within, and Jesus directly confronts that kind of religious hypocrisy in Luke 11:37–44. This message exposes the danger of outward religion that masks inward corruption, where performance replaces repentance and appearance replaces genuine transformation. As you listen, you will be challenged to examine whether your faith is built on what others see or on what God knows. Religious hypocrisy is subtle—it allows you to do right things without loving God, and it can even lead others in the wrong direction while everything appears spiritually sound. Christ does not call you to polish your image, but to surrender your heart.
