Throughout his traumatic childhood of abandonment and cruelty, Steven Spellman knew there was something else to live for, some better life. As a young adult, his life was a contrast:  selling marijuana, doing crime to put himself through college. As it spiraled downward, he just wanted to escape what he called a "life worse than death." He was shot during a robbery attempt at 19. As he lay dying, he received Jesus, but asked to not live. Isn't it like God to have other plans? Lawyer and CEO Stephen Casey is compelled by love. He has pushed past the nervousness, the social awkwardness, and the anxiety of asking to pray for complete strangers. In this episode, he helps you see how you can do the same. It’s just a matter of doing, of practicing. Boldness is like a muscle you develop over time. Stephen dispels the fear of feeling like you fail if the person doesn’t receive Christ in the moment. Using a sports analogy, he suggests just “moving the ball forward.” It’s Holy Spirit Who brings the harvest anyway.

IT specialist and author Raj Guendoo has heard about miracles and healings all his life. He tore his hamstring and calf muscle while running, which was later validated by his physician. After two prayers by our host Scott and Raj’s son, he left his crutches and walked about half a mile, a week later he walked for miles. He was skeptical at first, but the total healing was unmistakable. Business owner and house church pastor Calvin Allen speaks to the heart about how deeply God loves us first--and not because we are great. Out of that love, we can do what Jesus did while one Earth:  love people, heal the sick, point out the Father, say what He is saying. Calvin had a remarkable experience of interpreting someone speaking in tongues in the moment to a woman he just met. The effect on the listener clearly spoke Spirit to spirit. Her pain, both physical and emotional, was healed right there. On another occasion, Calvin had an impression of a name of a person to give a message to. Repeatedly in Scripture, Jesus is described as “moved by compassion, He…” This motivation alone is an adequate guide to loving the people we interact with in our daily lives.
