Who Is This Babylon [Podcast #005]
The Exodus Motif in Revelation Who is This Babylon? Revelation chapter 11:8 speaks particularly of Jerusalem, i.e. the city which is spiritually called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. This is a clear reference to the Exodus motif and the bondage of Egypt. It alludes to Paul’s reference in Galatians 4:21-31 where Paul speaks of the two covenant mothers, Hagar, the Egyptian and Sarah, the freewoman. This is a very critical study and helps to not only understand the message of Revelation but the entirety of New Testament. Allusions to Deuteronomy 32 find a particular prominence in the book of Revelation. Please let us know if you enjoy having these podcasts available in iTunes. A question we pursue is why God used the terms Sodom and Egypt to describe Jerusalem? Also why does The Holy Spirit use the term Egypt to describe Babylon? The word Egypt suggested ideas and concepts to the Jewish mind that Rome did not. Get the answers to why Rome was called Babylon and why it does not meet the weighty evidence presented for Jerusalem. The Living Body Broadcast 011413 Mathew 24
Since so many agree (not just Full Preterists) that one’s interpretation of Matthew 24-25 affects how they will see the rest of eschatology played out in the NT a crucial understanding of Jesus’ teaching here is crucial. We, I and William Bell tackle this alleged “difficult” passage that “scholars have disagreed on” with clarity and sound exegesis all the while demonstrating how other views begin their building/”exegesis” on a faulty or wrong foundation. Were the disciples “confused” in associating the destruction of the Temple with Christ’s coming and the end of the age or are futurists the ones that are confused and reading things into the text that are not there? Tune in and pass it on!

The Living Body Broadcast 010713
Michael Sullivan addresses 5 key points of Matthew 16:27-28, showing the context to be the consummated kingdom of God rather than an inaugural kingdom as taught by Sam Frost in a recent article. Sullivan addresses inconsistencies in the attempts at assigning a yet future fulfillment of text. Additional focus is centered on the judgment context of Matthew 16:27-28 and Revelation 5 is voiced by scholars from John A.T. Robertson’s Word Pictures of the New Testament, G.K. Beale and D.A. Carson’s Commentary of the New Testament Use of the Old Testament and more. Correlations of Revelation 5 and Isaiah 45:23 with key judgment passages in the New Testament cannot be denied. Further the Exodus motif, and victory songs of the Old Covenant shed light on the imminent judgment context. This is an excellent study and part 2 of a series of 3 to be completed in Mike’s next broadcast. To download podcasts on iTunes use this link: itpc://blogtalkradio.com/fulfilledradio.com.rss
