When Obedience Makes Things Harder | Moses & The Plagues (Exodus 5–12)
This week on Girl, Ready Your Bible, we continue our journey through the life of Moses in Book of Exodus 5–12—and let me tell you… things did NOT go how anyone expected.Moses obeyed God. He went to Pharaoh just like he was told. But instead of things getting better… they got worse.Pharaoh made the Israelites’ lives harder. The people complained. Moses questioned God.Sound familiar? In this episode, we talk about what it feels like when obedience doesn’t lead to immediate breakthrough—and how God is still working even when everything looks like it’s falling apart. We walk through the 10 plagues, Pharaoh’s constantly changing heart, and how God was never reacting—He was moving with intention the entire time.Even when it looked messy. Even when it felt delayed. Even when no one understood what He was doing.✨ And while we touch on the 10th plague, we’ll be diving deeper into that powerful moment next episode. If you’ve ever wondered, “God, why is this getting harder instead of easier?”—this episode is for you.✨ 3 Key Takeaways1. Obedience doesn’t always lead to immediate ease. Sometimes things get harder before they get better—but that doesn’t mean you missed God.2. God is working with a bigger purpose than you can see. Every plague wasn’t random—it was intentional, revealing His power and fulfilling His promise.3. Delays and resistance don’t cancel God’s promise. Pharaoh’s back-and-forth didn’t stop God’s plan—and neither will what you’re facing.

“But God, Not Me… Right?” | When You Feel Unqualified (Exodus 3–4) | Moses Series pt2
What if the only thing standing between you and your calling… is your belief that you’re not enough? In Exodus 3–4, Moses comes face-to-face with God in a moment that should have changed everything—a burning bush, a direct calling, even learning God’s personal name: Yahweh. And yet… he hesitates. He questions. He resists.Sound familiar? In today’s episode, we’re unpacking the doubts, fears, and excuses that kept Moses stuck—and the incredible patience and faithfulness of God that met him there anyway. If you’ve ever felt unqualified, overlooked, or unsure if God could really use you… this episode is for you.Because the truth is: God doesn’t call the confident—He calls the willing.💭 LISTENER REFLECTION QUESTIONWhere in your life is God calling you forward—but fear is making you hesitate?🌸 PRAYER Lord, You see every place where I feel unqualified, unsure, and afraid. But thank You that You don’t call me based on my ability—you call me based on Your purpose.Help me to trust that You are with me. Give me courage to take the next step, even when I don’t feel ready.I don’t need to have it all together—because You are enough.Amen.Affirmation: ✨ God is with me, and that is enough. ✨ I am chosen, even when I feel unsure. ✨ I can walk forward in faith, not fear.

The Humanity of Jesus: The Power to Stay
The Humanity of Jesus: The Power to StayJesus understands you more than you think. In this episode, we explore the humanity of Jesus—not just that He suffered, but that He felt. He experienced joy, grief, betrayal, and even the heartbreak of a prayer that was answered “no.”But the most powerful moment? The cross.Jesus had the authority to leave. He could have stopped the suffering. He could have called down angels. He could have chosen comfort. But He didn’t.He stayed. Not because He was powerless—but because He was focused. Focused on you. Focused on redemption. Focused on the bigger picture. And that same Spirit that gave Him the strength to stay… is living in you.📖 Scriptures Referenced (NLT)John 11:35Matthew 26:38Luke 22:48Luke 22:41-42Matthew 26:53Galatians 5:22-23Hebrews 12:2John 14:16-17Romans 8:11💡 Key TakeawaysJesus experienced the full range of human emotionHe understands your pain, grief, and disappointmentEven Jesus prayed a prayer that was answered “no”The cross was not just sacrifice—it was self-controlJesus had the power to leave, but chose to stayYou are not powerless—the Spirit of God lives in you💬 Reflection QuestionWhere is God calling you to stay… when everything in you wants to leave?🌿 3 POWERFUL AFFIRMATIONS“I am not alone in my struggle—Jesus understands me, and His Spirit strengthens me.”“I have self-control through the Holy Spirit, even when it’s hard to stay.”“I trust God’s bigger picture, even when I don’t understand my current situation.”🙏 PRAYERFather God,Thank You for sending Jesus—not just to save me, but to show me what it looks like to trust You fully.Thank You that He understands my emotions, my struggles, and even the prayers I’ve prayed that haven’t been answered the way I hoped.Lord, help me to remember that I am not doing this on my own. Your Spirit lives in me. Strengthen me in the places where I feel weak. Give me the self-control to stay when it would be easier to walk away.Help me trust Your plan, even when it doesn’t make sense. Mary Magdalene — The Faith That Stayed
What does real faith look like when life falls apart? In this episode of Girl Ready Your Bible, we’re diving into the story of Mary Magdalene—one of the most devoted followers of Jesus, and one of the most misunderstood. She wasn’t the loudest. She wasn’t the most recognized. But she was the one who stayed.Mary stayed at the cross when others ran. She stayed in the silence after Jesus died. She showed up in the dark… not expecting a miracle, but simply because she loved Him.And because she stayed—she became the first to witness the resurrection. If you’ve ever felt like your faith is shaky, quiet, or just barely holding on… this episode will remind you:You don’t have to have it all together to stay close to Jesus. In This Episode, We Talk About:The truth about Mary Magdalene (and what Scripture actually says)What it means to stay with Jesus in painful and confusing seasonsWhy faithfulness in the dark matters more than we realizeHow Jesus meets us personally—even in our griefWhat it looks like to carry your own “I have seen the Lord” storyKey Takeaways: ✨ Faith that stays matters more than faith that shines ✨ You don’t have to understand everything to stay close to Jesus ✨ Jesus knows your name—and meets you right where you areScripture References: Luke 8:2–3 Matthew 27:55–56 Matthew 27:61 Matthew 28:1–10 Mark 15:40 Mark 15:47 Mark 16:9 Luke 24:10 John 19:25 John 20:1–18Reflection Question: Where is God inviting you to stay with Him—even when it feels hard, quiet, or unclear?Connect with 522Gals: If this episode encouraged you, share it with a friend who needs this reminder 💛 And don’t forget to subscribe so you never miss an episode of Girl Ready Your Bible.Get your free download - Growing in Faith Journal that pairs with this episode. https://www.522gals.com/downloadJoin our Facebook Community Group to talk about this episode, connect with, grow and encourage other gals on this faith journey! https://www.facebook.com/groups/girlreadyourbible522gals

Esther | Don't Miss Your Moment
What if the place you’re in right now isn’t random? This week on Girl Read Your Bible, we step into the powerful story of Esther — a young orphan girl who becomes queen, not by accident, but by divine orchestration.Right now, during the Feast of Purim, Jewish families around the world remember how God preserved His people through one woman’s courage. And here we are, thousands of years later, still learning from her faith.Esther’s story reminds us:You don’t have to strive for influence — favor follows character.God’s hand is working even when His name isn’t mentioned. There are moments in life that require bold obedience. You can miss a God opportunity if you refuse to move.We talk about:Esther’s grace and faithful courageMordecai’s unshakable faith (“relief and deliverance will arise…”)The power of fasting and prayer before stepping into hard thingsAnd the weight and beauty of Esther 4:14 — “for such a time as this”Esther didn’t wallow in being an orphan. She didn’t shrink when she became queen. She didn’t panic when the pressure came. She prayed. She fasted. She acted. And history changed.Maybe you are standing in a moment that matters more than you realize.📖 Scripture of the WeekEsther 4:14 (NLT) “If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place… Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”✨ 3 Key Takeaways1️⃣ Favor Follows FaithfulnessEsther didn’t chase influence — she cultivated character. Grace, humility, obedience, and wisdom positioned her for promotion.2️⃣ God Is Working Even When You Don’t See HimThe book of Esther never directly mentions God — yet His hand is everywhere. Silence does not mean absence.3️⃣ Timing Matters — Obedience Is UrgentMordecai believed deliverance would come. But Esther still had a choice. There are moments in life when hesitation costs opportunity. Obedience often requires courage before clarity.🌿 3 Affirmations (Perfect for Social or a Download Card)💛 I am positioned by God on purpose. 💛 I will not shrink back when courage is required. 💛 I trust that God’s hand is guiding my story.🙏 PrayerFather,Thank You for the reminder that I am not here by accident. Just like Esther, You have positioned me intentionally in this generation.Give me courage when the moment feels heavy. Give me wisdom before I act. Give me faith to believe You are working — even when I cannot see it.Help me not to miss divine opportunities because of fear. Teach me to pray first, fast when needed, and move when You call.If this is my “such a time as this” moment, make me brave enough to step forward. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

How Jesus Cleanses, Restores, and Brings You to Life | Daughter, Your Faith Has Made You Well
There are moments when you feel like the woman in Mark 5.Unclean. Unworthy. Unseen. She had suffered for twelve years. Twelve years of isolation. Twelve years of trying everything and finding no relief. According to the law, she was considered unclean, which meant separation—from people, from community, from normal life. And yet, she did something bold. She reached for Jesus.Quietly. Desperately. Faithfully. She believed that even touching His garment would be enough. And it was.Jesus didn’t rebuke her. He didn’t shame her. He didn’t ignore her.He called her Daughter. In that moment, everything changed. She wasn’t just healed physically. She was restored completely...............At the very same time, another daughter was waiting.Jairus’ daughter. Only twelve years old. Her situation seemed worse. She wasn’t just suffering. She was dying. And then came the news every parent fears: She was gone. But Jesus said something powerful: “Do not be afraid; only believe.”And He raised her to life. This is the beauty of Jesus. He meets you in your uncleanness and makes you whole. He meets you in your lifelessness and brings you back to life.Under the old covenant, uncleanness separated people from God. But Jesus fulfilled the law and made a new way. Through Him, we are not just cleaned—we are resurrected into new life. You may feel like the bleeding woman today—ashamed, weary, and desperate.Or you may feel like Jairus’ daughter—lifeless, numb, and without hope. But Jesus responds to faith in both places. He still restores. He still resurrects. And He still calls you Daughter.THREE MAIN TAKEAWAYS1. Faith doesn’t require perfection—only reaching for JesusShe was unclean. She wasn’t supposed to be there. But faith reaches anyway.Jesus honors faith, not perfection.2. Jesus stops for the individualHe was on His way to save a dying girl. But He stopped for the suffering woman. You are never an inconvenience to Jesus.3. Jesus doesn’t just cleanse you—He brings you to lifeHe made the unclean woman whole. He raised the dead girl to life. This is the gospel: Not just improvement. Blessed is she who... Mary (the Mother)
Have you ever felt God asking you to trust Him in something that didn’t make sense?Mary did.She was young. Unknown. Unprepared. And yet when God spoke, she didn’t hesitate in unbelief—she leaned in with faith.Elizabeth said it best in Luke 1:45: "Blessed is she who believed."Mary didn’t just believe once. She believed when the angel spoke. She believed when she gave birth in uncertainty. She believed when she didn’t understand. She believed when she watched her son suffer. And she stayed faithful until the end.In this episode, we explore every moment Mary appears in Scripture and what her life teaches us about having a quick heart to believe—even when life feels unclear, painful, or unexpected. If you’ve ever struggled to trust God fully, this episode will remind you:You don’t need all the answers. You just need belief.

Abigail: Wisdom That Changes the Story
Abigail’s story in 1 Samuel 25 is a reminder that wisdom can be just as powerful as strength. She lived in a difficult household, married to a foolish and harsh man. Yet Abigail refused to let her circumstances define her character. When conflict threatened to turn violent, she chose courage over fear, wisdom over pride, and humility over defensiveness.Instead of reacting emotionally, Abigail acted intentionally. She gathered provisions, approached David with respect, took responsibility for peace, and trusted God with the results. Her wise response didn’t just prevent bloodshed — it earned David’s respect and God’s favor.Abigail shows us something powerful: We don’t need control over every situation — we need control over our response. There will be moments when emotions run high. When others act foolishly. When tension feels unavoidable. In those moments, God invites us to pause, pray, and choose wisdom. You can be a woman of discernment. You can be a peacemaker. This episode reminds us that blessings and words matter—because they carry life, identity, and legacy.✨ 3 TakeawaysWords Have Power Isaac’s blessing wasn’t just a ritual—it was a prophetic declaration that shaped generations. Our words, too, carry power to speak life or destruction.Deception Leads to Division Jacob’s choice to deceive his father fractured his family. When we chase blessings our own way, we often miss the peace that comes from trusting God’s timing.God’s Plan Still Prevails Even through deceit and brokenness, God’s plan for both Jacob and Esau moved forward. His promises are not undone by human failure—He works all things together for His glory.📜 Key Scripture for the Week“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” — Proverbs 18:21 (NIV)🪞 3 Journal PromptsThink of a time when someone’s words deeply impacted you—positively or negatively. In this episode of Girl, Read Your Bible, Nicole shares from the heart about the importance of church and community. If you’ve been out of church for a while—or if you’ve ever been hurt by people in the church—this conversation will remind you why gathering with other believers still matters.Nicole talks about how no church is perfect (because it’s full of imperfect people), how to find one that truly fits your needs, and why prayer should always be part of your church experience. Whether you’re church shopping, returning after years away, or just feeling disconnected, this episode will encourage you to seek connection and spiritual growth with grace and courage.✨ In this episode, we’ll talk about:Why church is still essential to your spiritual growthHow to find a church that aligns with your values and needsThe importance of prayer and communityHow to move past unrealistic expectations of “perfect” people🎧 Listen now and be encouraged to reconnect, rebuild, and rediscover the joy of community with other believers.💛 3 TakeawaysChurch isn’t perfect—but it’s powerful. Worship and teaching are important, but prayer is where hearts connect. A church that prays with you and for you is a place that will help your faith thrive.📖 Key Scripture“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” — Hebrews 10:24–25 (NIV)✍️ 3 Journal PromptsWhat are some past experiences that have shaped how I feel about church today? From Blindness to Boldness | John 9
In today’s episode, we’re diving into John 9, where Jesus heals a man born blind. This miracle is more than physical healing—it’s a picture of spiritual sight. The Pharisees couldn’t see who Jesus truly was, while the blind man not only received his vision but also came to believe in Christ as Lord. We’ll talk about:Why, Jesus said, the man was born blind- not because of sin.How the healing caused division among the Pharisees. What it means to move from spiritual blindness to sight. The courage it takes to stand in your testimony, even when others don’t believe you.Key TakeawayJesus not only opens physical eyes but also the eyes of the heart. When He gives us spiritual sight, our testimony becomes a light that others cannot deny.Scripture of the week: We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. - John 9:4Note from Nicole:Friend, maybe you feel unseen, overlooked, or like your story doesn’t matter. But just like the man in John 9, your life is an opportunity for God’s work to be displayed. When Jesus opens your eyes, you see who He really is—and your testimony shines light into the darkness around you.So today, walk in the confidence that you are seen by Jesus, healed by His grace, and sent out to tell others of His power.

Stephen the First Martyr & Finding Comfort in Loss
In this episode of Girl Ready Your Bible, we open Acts 6:8–7:60 to study the life and death of Stephen—the first martyr of the church. Stephen’s bold faith, unwavering testimony, and vision of Jesus at the right hand of God remind us that even in the darkest moments, God’s light cannot be snuffed out.I share this story as a source of comfort in light of the recent loss of Charlie Kirk—a modern-day martyr who stood courageously for truth and his beliefs. Just as in Stephen’s day, evil continues to try to silence light, but God uses what is meant for harm to accomplish His greater purpose.Join me as we reflect on faith that endures, courage that costs everything, and hope that cannot be defeated.Key TakeawaysStephen’s Example of Faith: Even in trial, Stephen’s life was marked by grace, power, and boldness. His face “shone like an angel” because he was filled with the Spirit, not fear.Martyrdom Then and Now: The story of Stephen reminds us that persecution has always been part of following Jesus. Our modern-day martyrs carry that same torch of truth.Evil Cannot Overcome the Light: Though it was not God’s will for Stephen—or Charlie—to be killed, He still turns evil into an opportunity for the gospel to spread and faith to deepen.Comfort in Loss: Miracles don’t always come in the way we expect. But the miracle is this: even in suffering and loss, Jesus is present, seen, and glorified.A Greater Purpose: God redeems tragedy for His kingdom. What the enemy means for evil, God uses for good.Scripture ReferenceActs 6:8–7:60Reflection Questions & Journaling PromptsWhen have you felt like Stephen—standing for truth even when it was unpopular? How did God meet you in that moment?Stephen saw Jesus standing at the right hand of God. What does that image mean to you personally when you face trials or loss?Where do you see evil trying to silence light in today’s world? How can you be part of carrying God’s light into those places?Think of a loss or disappointment in your life. How has God used it (or how might He use it) for a greater purpose? What does it look like for you to live with bold, Spirit-filled courage today?
