We hear it all the time: “Mind-body-soul balance.”But what does that actually mean—and more importantly, how do we live it? In this episode of the Gratitude & Growth podcast, I share how I spent years jumping from one modality to the next—mindset work, spiritual practice, somatic healing—before realizing that true transformation doesn’t come from picking a lane. My 4 Commandments: How I Know I’m Being Who I Want to Be

How do you know when you're becoming the person you want to be? In this episode, I share something deeply personal—the four commandments I live by. These aren’t rules I found in a book. They’re truths I’ve discovered over years of self-inquiry, spiritual practice, and lived experience. These four behaviors—Be Grateful. Be Humble. Be Kind. And Live.—are how I measure alignment in my life. When I’m embodying these, I know I’m not performing or chasing. I’m grounded. Present. Me. Inside this episode, I talk about: ▪️ The power of gratitude to bring you into presence ▪️ How humility isn’t about shrinking—it’s about seeing the whole picture ▪️ Why kindness is one of the strongest spiritual tools we have ▪️ What it really means to LIVE—and why it takes courage ▪️ The mindset shift that changed how I show up for my life 💫 Looking for your free meditation? you can find it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0ZaTxQf0iE 💌 Get the G&G Weekly EditWant a weekly moment of reflection, inspiration, and grounded tools for your growth?  Subscribe to the G&G Weekly Edit — a soulful email from me to you, every Friday.  🌱 Explore More Free ResourcesVisit www.gratitudegrowth.com for free guides, inspiration, and more support on your journey to becoming who you want to be.

Honoring the Cycles & Seasons of Life

In this special season two finale, we’re diving into the importance of honoring the cycles and phases of life. Just like nature, with its seasons—spring, summer, fall, winter—we as human beings also go through our own cycles. Whether it’s the 28-day hormonal cycle, the ebb and flow of creativity, or the push and pull between masculine and feminine energies, everything in life has a rhythm. In this episode, I open up about my own journey of learning to honor the season I’m in, especially when it comes to slowing down and allowing myself time to rest. I share insights on how we often resist change because we’re clinging to control, ignoring our bodies and spirits, which are telling us to shift gears. I also talk about the balance between masculine and feminine energies—the doing versus the being—and how I’m learning to embrace the feminine energy of receiving and resting. I’ll be real with you: I’ve been denying myself a season of rest, even though my body has been asking for it. But now, I’m taking a step back to allow myself to slow down, to just be, and to trust that the creative sparks will still be there when the time is right. Thank you so much for joining me on this incredible season two journey. Although we’re wrapping up, the episodes from seasons one and two will still be available for you to listen to. The Importance of Self-Care & Rest

This week on the Gratitude & Growth Podcast we explore the essential roles of self-care and rest, two practices that are vital for maintaining balance and avoiding burnout. There’s a difference between self-care, which involves activities that nurture and rejuvenate, and rest, which is about shutting down stimulation to find mental clarity and peace. We live in a world that moves very fast, if we don’t take time to prioritize ourselves and our rest, we can get stuck on a mental hamster wheel -- and that hamster wheel isn’t always one of stress, worry, and anxiety. It can also be one of creativity, inspiration, and fulfilling work.  I’ve been on an incredible hamster wheel of inspiration and creativity lately, but I realized I needed to pause from that too. A lot of creators fear pausing momentum, but there is a balance to be found between creative action and periods of rest. When you allow yourself to rest and to take a step back, you move away from the tunnel vision and find even more inspiration. If you’re on a hamster wheel of stress, resting will bring you solutions to whatever problems you have at hand. Take a moment for yourself today—whether it’s a bubble bath, a walk, or simply a few minutes of quiet reflection. Embrace self-care and rest as essential practices for living a balanced and present life. And if you’re looking for a practical way to add more positivity, peace, and kindness to your own life, my eBook “21 Days of Gratitude: Simple Exercises for a More Positive Life” is now available on Amazon. Ian Tyson: Finding Gratitude in Grief

This week on the Gratitude & Growth Podcast I sit with Ian Tyson (@Iantyson) and talk about finding gratitude in grief. We have a very open and vulnerable conversation about the loss we have experienced in our lives (Ian losing his mom when he was very young and me losing my dad in my early 20s) and how gratitude has shown us a way of accepting and navigating it.  Ian is a motivational speaker for 30+ years, the author of “Hooray for Everything! The Optimist Manifesto” and, my favorite title, a Silver Lining Prospector.  This is the first time I’ve ever spoken publicly about the last three months of my dad’s life, and I’m very grateful to Ian for holding that container for me. I didn’t realize how vulnerable I would feel and I can hear it for myself as I listen back – there are parts of this episode where I talk SO fast -- and I’ve learned that’s a defense mechanism of mine. I actually tried editing the speed of the podcast in those parts, but I decided to leave it be and allow my own vulnerability to come through. For those of you who are going through any kind of grief right now – I hope you find hope and empowerment here. Connect with Ian on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/iantyson/Connect with Ian on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/IanTysonSpeakerConnect with Ian on his website: www.iantyson.ca  I’d so appreciate it if you would take a moment and leave a rating, a review and subscribe to the podcast. Setting Your Level of Tolerance & Still Practicing Unconditional Love

This week on the Gratitude & Growth Podcast I dive into our Level of Tolerance: what it is, how to set it, and how to maintain it while still offering others Unconditional Love.  This was something I struggled with for a long time – I always lowered my level of tolerance when I was put in situations with people that did not match it. My people-pleaser tendencies would come out and I would end up letting myself down (and lowering my level of Tolerance) because I thought that is what it meant to unconditionally love people.  This is not the case. You can Unconditionally Love people and maintain your Level of Tolerance at the same time. Discovering this balance gave me a great freedom to be myself and live life according to my own levels and no one else’s (hint: Boundaries play a great role here).  Life will always meet you at your Level of Tolerance, and sometimes it will test you to see if you will in fact maintain and fight for that level, or if you’ll consistently keep lowering it. And if you’re looking for a practical way to add more positivity, peace, and kindness to your own life, my eBook “21 Days of Gratitude: Simple Exercises for a More Positive Life” is now available on Amazon. Through her work, Dr. Kovacevic aims to develop an objective, quantifiable approach to diagnosis and to empower individuals to take control of their mental well-being and unlock their full cognitive potential. This episode was fascinating for me because I got to finally dive into the science behind positive thinking, gratitude, and our brain’s incredible ability to adapt and change. The science behind what happens to our brains when we think and focus on mainly negative thoughts and patterns vs. when we focus and think on positive mental patterns. We talk about how to keep your brain healthy, how to prevent certain illnesses, and sneaky things our brains are addicted to (like STIMULATION).   You can find more information about xSensa Labs and the incredible work they are doing here: https://xsensalabs.com/ I’d so appreciate it if you would take a moment and leave a rating, a review and subscribe to the podcast. It helps this inspiring content reach even more people!  And if you’re looking for a practical way to add more positivity, peace, and kindness to your own life, my eBook “21 Days of Gratitude: Simple Exercises for a More Positive Life” is now available on Amazon. Presence, Awareness & The Seat of the Observer

This week on the Gratitude & Growth Podcast I dive into Presence, Awareness & The Seat of the Observer. All these words and concepts we hear across the Mind, Body, Soul spectrum, the personal development world, the spiritual community -- that sound different, but I think are actually talking about the same thing! I talk about what Presence is for me, exercises I use to build my presence (or rather, just turn my mind off and enter the present moment), and my overall, never-ending, journey with it.  Are you always waiting for the future to bring you happiness or relief? Or are you always worrying about a scary or worse future? Are you always replaying moments from the past in your head (good or bad moments)? Do you ever live in the here and now?  Presence is the key to peace, and at the end of the day, the present moment is all that actually exists. It is also the most powerful and empowering moment in your life. Eckhart Tolle’s “The Power of Now” was the first book on spiritual enlightenment I ever read, and it has stayed with me for over a decade now. I return to it often. It is a book that woke me up to the fact that my mind is the root of my suffering, that my thoughts aren’t who I am, and that there is so much more to us than what our minds think we are.   And if you’re looking for a practical way to add more positivity, peace, and kindness to your own life, my eBook “21 Days of Gratitude: Simple Exercises for a More Positive Life” is now available on Amazon. Reflection & Intention

This week on the Gratitude & Growth Podcast I dive into Reflection & Intention. Two powerful concepts and tools that allow you to step into the version of yourself that you want to be. I take time to reflect and set intentions every day, and it has changed my life and the way my life unfolds. Most days, many of us spend more time scrolling than we do actually sitting with ourselves and checking in, asking the tough questions.  Reflection and Intention are keys to personal growth. They are keys to keep showing up for yourself, time and again. Trial after trial. Hardship after hardship. I encourage everyone to set aside a bit of time each day and do both of these actions – and watch how it transforms your life.     And if you’re looking for a practical way to add more positivity, peace, and kindness to your own life, my eBook “21 Days of Gratitude: Simple Exercises for a More Positive Life” is now available on Amazon. Brant Menswar: Your Black Sheep & Living with Deliberate Intention

This week on the Gratitude & Growth Podcast I sit with Brant Menswar and we dive into his book “Black Sheep.” Brant stands at the forefront of corporate transformation, masterfully equipping both organizations and individual trailblazers to navigate the current work landscape and ascend to new heights of performance. He is a best-selling author, certified in the Psychology of Leadership from Cornell University, named one of the country's top speakers, and is well on his way to achieving his goal of helping 500,000 people discover their non-negotiable values. Brant’s book had a big effect on me. One of Brant’s superpowers is he has the ability to take very large, profound ideas and make them attainable to and by anyone. His concept of establishing and living by your core values has had a big impact on my own day to day living. I cannot recommend his book enough – I read it in two days. And then I read it again. Keeping a Positive/Grateful/Abundant Mindset Amongst Negativity

This week on the Gratitude & Growth Podcast I answer Kearsten’s question. I asked on Instagram what you wanted to hear more about and she asked to hear “more on how to keep a positive, abundant mindset among negative people and the news.” This is a great one and super important in today’s world. It takes an awareness of your subconscious, what you’re filling it with, how you start and end your day, and everything in between! I lay out some specific tools and exercises I use to keep my mindset sharp. I’m also doing a GRATITUDE CHALLENGE for the month of May, beginning TODAY May 1st. Join me if you feel like you need a little boost of positivity in your life. You can find all the details in my Instagram stories. What I Do When Waves of Grief Hit Me

In this episode, I dive into what I do, moment-to-moment, when I get hit with waves of grief (in this case, over my dad). What happens to my body on a physical, mental, and emotional level and how I actually USE all the tools I talk about (mental discipline, the fact that everything is a choice, breathwork, etc.) to help me navigate, accept, and honor these moments but without indulging in them and spiraling and losing an entire hour/day/week to them. Introduction: My "Why"

Welcome to the Gratitude & Growth Podcast! I’m Sara Mitich, and this space is where I get real about personal growth, mindset, and the journey to a more peaceful, joyful life.A few years ago, I realized I was living by a rulebook that wasn’t mine—stuck in stress, fear, and doubt. I was fed up. So, I did the work. I studied myself, dove deep into growth, and found tools that helped me shift my life. And as I shared what I was learning, I saw it impact others in a powerful way. This podcast is my way of passing that on. I’m not here as an expert who has it all figured out—I’m a human, just like you, doing my best every day. Gratitude & Growth are the two things that changed everything for me, and I hope they’ll do the same for you.So, welcome. And thank you for being here.🎧 Listen now and let’s grow together. For more on everything Gratitude & Growth and Sara Mitich visit www.gratitudegrowth.com
