Ground Rule

This is the last episode of Season One! John sits down with his editor to reflect on some big takeaways from our past interviews, and talks about the rising wave of influence coming out of SE Asia. UPDATE: We will be taking a break for the summer, and we will be launching Season Two this fall!

Omar talks a little about his past as high profile DEA agent, shares some things that he's learned along the way, and gives some insight on what makes or breaks a missionary.

John connects with Tim, who is a banking professional in Singapore, and who is actively working to catalyze and facilitate gospel movements throughout Southeastern Asia. Tim shares pieces of his story, things he's been learning, and the incredible opportunity that God has given the Church in Singapore.

This week we shake things up a bit! John takes the hot seat, and is asked to share a little about his story and also his perspective of recent events within Charismatic Christianity. This will be our last episode of the year! Ground Rule will be paused until the first week of January.

John gets to interview Derek, who has years of experience leading as a Pastor, serving with YWAM, and speaking extensively across the world. Derek sheds some light on something he has been unpacking recently and explains the important connection between God as the Creator and hearing His voice.

John Kim gets the opportunity to sit down with Dennis Balcombe, who is a veteran missionary and Senior Pastor of Revival Christian Church in Hong Kong. Dennis talks about his personal journey of encountering God, and how following the leadership of the Holy Spirit disrupted his plans as a teenager and ultimately brought him to China as a minister of the Gospel.

This week's interview is with Matt Lockett, an experienced ministry leader and intercessor who has been based in Washington D.C. for the last 18 years. John and Matt talk about the importance of hearing God's voice and perseverance. Sharing through the lens of both a pivotal historic figure (Rees Howells) and his own personal experiences, Matt unpacks the role that suffering plays in the greater story of partnering with God's heart.

Amos, a Mongolian YWAM leader, talks to John about his testimony, the spiritual history of his country, and the role that he believes local youth have to play in the destiny of Mongolia.

Jackie talks to John about what caused her to leave everything she knew to go on a crazy journey, and shares her perspectives on ministry, hearing the voice of God, and walking in the love of Jesus.
