Last words from the cross - "Father forgive them"

In this first message from our “Last Words” communion series, we reflect on Jesus’ words from the cross: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” (📖 Gospel of Luke 23:34).Spoken in the midst of pain, not after it, these words challenge us to think differently about forgiveness. As we come to the communion table, we explore what it means to forgive others - not because they deserve it, but because we have been forgiven through Christ. This message gently unpacks what forgiveness is (and isn’t), how we can release hurt to God, and how the power of the cross enables us to let go, even when it’s hard.

Lessons from the mountaintop - 19th April 2026

This week we moved from the wilderness up to the mountain. Building on last Sunday’s message, we explored those powerful mountaintop moments in Scripture and saw how mountains are places of encounter, surrender, and worship. We unpacked Psalm 24 and wrestled with the question, “Who can ascend the hill of the Lord?” (yes Sue got dressed in full climbing gear!) and came to the honest conclusion that none of us actually can on our own… but through Jesus, a way has been made. Finally, we were encouraged by Jesus’ conversation with the Samaritan woman, and that God’s presence is no longer limited to a place - we can meet with Him anytime, anywhere, as we learn to worship in Spirit and in truth.

Easter Sunday - the curtain was ripped in two!

Did you know there was a curtain in the Easter story? The curtain in the temple separated the people from God’s presence - it was a real, serious boundary - and it was HUGE!And at the very moment Jesus breathed his last breath, that curtain was torn in two—from top to bottom. Why did that happen? What was God trying to say?Listen in.

Palm Sunday "selection day" - 29th March 2026

On Palm Sunday, we often reflect on the cheering crowds, the humble donkey, and the challenge to stay faithful - but what if there’s something even deeper? In this message, Sue shares a powerful connection between Palm Sunday and the Passover story in Exodus. As Jesus entered Jerusalem, He did so on the very day the Passover lambs were chosen - “selection day.” God was presenting His perfect Lamb to the world. This powerful insight invites us to see Jesus not just as a king to celebrate, but as the lamb chosen for us - and to consider what that truly means for us today.

Mighty Girls, Mighty God (Deborah): say what you see - 22nd March 2026

This week we met Deborah - the only woman in the Bible who was both a prophet and a judge. She listened to God, discerned what was happening, and boldly spoke truth.Inspired by the classic TV catchphrase "say what you see" , we were challenged by how Deborah used her voice for good, named reality as God showed it, and led with courage and wisdom. She simply "said what she saw" and we were encouraged to do the same in our lives.

Mighty Girls, Mighty God (Hagar): the God who sees me - 15th March 2026

This Mothering Sunday, we look at the story of Hagar - a woman often overlooked, yet the only person in the Bible to give God a name: El Roi, “the God who sees me.”While others in our Mighty Girl series have shown us examples to follow, Hagar’s story invites us to do something different - to see what she saw about God.In a world where many feel unseen, unheard or forgotten, this message explores the powerful truth that God sees our lives in full - the joy, the struggle, and the suffering.  It also wrestles with the difficult question of suffering, pointing us to the hope we find in Jesus: not just a God who sees from a distance, but a God who steps into our pain.

Mighty Girls, Mighty God (Ruth): just do the next right thing - 8th March 2026

In this second message from our Mighty Girls, Mighty God series, we explore the story of Ruth – a foreign widow whose quiet faithfulness placed her in the family line of Jesus. Her story reminds us that we don’t always see the whole picture of what God is doing and sometimes the most faithful thing we can do is simply the next right thing in front of us.

Mighty Girls, Mighty God (Abigail): when generosity stopped a sword - 1st March 2026

In this first message of our Mighty Girls, Mighty God series, we explore the story of Abigail from 1 Samuel 25. In a moment of anger and potential violence, Abigail’s wisdom and generosity changed the course of events. Listen in as Sue unpacks this remarkable woman's story and be inspired for your own life - to let generosity disarm hostility and to keep feelings and emotions in their proper place.

God loves you - 8th Feb 2026 @ Harvest Fields

And when His love truly lands , it doesn’t just comfort us - it frees us from fear, heals shame, changes our behaviour and anchors our identity. It also reshapes the way we love others. What a wonderful morning at Harvest Fields <3

    More than a decoration - 1st Feb 2026 @ Harvest Fields

Are we meant to be more than a decoration? This week Sue unpacks Ephesians 2v10 and reminds us that God has things for us to do and we're not just here to "look good"!Through the extraordinary story of Brother Andrew and the everyday faith of Peter in Acts 3, we’re invited to see how God uses ordinary people who choose obedience over passivity. This message explores the tension between faith and works, spectator Christianity Vs performance Christianity, and gently calls us to open our eyes to the good works that God has already prepared for us - right where we are, and sometimes far beyond our comfort zones.

The Persecuted Church - 25th Jan 2026 @ Harvest Fields

What does it really mean to be persecuted for your faith? This Sunday we circled back to the disciples and discovered how each of them went on to be persecuted for their faith. We then watched a video from Open Doors UK which shone a light on the persecuted church of today (you can watch this video at www.opendoorsuk.org). Much of the morning wasn’t recorded, as we then spent time praying for Christians around the world and sharing communion together.

Hard pressed but not crushed - 18th Jan 2026 @ Harvest Fields

Friction in life is not always a bad thing, but how do we cope when we’re hard pressed, perplexed, persecuted or struck down?Sue unpacks 2 Corinthians 4v8-9 with stories and vivid illustrations, reminding us that pressure doesn’t have to crush us. She encourages us to memorise these powerful verses - not just for the prized lollipop, but so that when life squeezes, confuses, opposes or knocks us down, we remember that God is with us and we are not destroyed.
