This sermon focuses on Mark 7:1-23 where Jesus is noted to address the appearance of legalism. In this Scripture, Jesus annihilates the concept of legalism. God's Word is Sovereign over the laws and practices of men.

Today's sermon focuses on the ministry of Jesus and His disciples, and when Jesus walks on water. In life there is suffering, but we discuss that all things, even suffering, should be for the glory of God.

For our Easter service, we venture into the first Book of the Bible, Genesis, to dive into God's creation of earth and people. Even at the beginning, Jesus was present and evident. Jesus is alive and He is our Savior!

Today's sermon is a continuation of last week's sermon in which we talk about a daunting mission, a dangerous message, and a disastrous miss in this section of Mark.

For today's sermon, we start discussing the first of the two stories in Mark 6:7-29 in which Jesus sends out his disciples on a daunting mission. Through this mission, we discuss how trusting God reveals this truth: God is King, you are not.

As we continue through the book of Mark, Jesus gives up a few little parables that have a big impact on the life of a Christian. He ends this section with a plea. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

As we jump back into our sermon series on the book of Mark, we start in Mark 4. During this section of Scripture, Jesus discusses the parable of the four soils and what they mean. We pray that you will allow Jesus to soften your heart and know that God's grace alone gives us salvation.

In this sermon, we read Luke 1:5-38 where the angel, Gabriel, delivers the Word of God to both Zechariah and Mary prior to the birth of Jesus. We see that two types of people are revealed. Which one are you? Do you rely on the superficial things of the world for fulfillment? Or will you rely on the better promise, Jesus?

Many people wonder, "What is the will of God?" In this scripture, we see that Jesus's family is missing it, Jesus is on a mission, and Jesus hands us our mission. We end by discussing many of the examples of the will of God throughout scripture.

As we read through Mark 3:7-21, we see the "friends" of Jesus, the followers of Jesus, and the family of Jesus revealed through the Scripture. Which one are you more like? Have you completely surrendered your life to Christ?

Today we read through Mark 3:1-6 and discuss a healthy orbit with Jesus in the center of it all. As we read through the Scripture, we see there are two types revealed, a choice is offered, the unlikely is loved, and a decision is forced. Does your life revolve around God, or does God revolve around your life?

One goal in life for many people is to just be a better person. To do better in life, whatever that may look like. No doubt, that is a good thing. However, what is even better is doing life with Jesus. One place to start is surrendering your life to Jesus Christ and living with Him. Join us as we dive into Mark 2:18-28 where Jesus explains the expectations of fasting and Sabbath-keeping in addition to discussing how surrendering your life to Jesus displays God's new work in your life.

In this section of Mark, Jesus heals a paralytic and calls Levi to follow him. Through the Scripture, we see Jesus revealing He is the truth and loving sinners. As believers in Christ and sinners ourselves, this gives us hope. Jesus is the truth and He will never leave or forsake you. We can hope in Him.

Having things in life is good. Food to eat, clothes to wear, people to love - all good things in life. Following Jesus is better. Living for Jesus is better. As we read through Mark 1:29-45, we see Jesus heal, cleanse, and preach the gospel. The reason Jesus came was to sacrifice himself for us, to spiritually heal us. Jesus is better!

Pastor Ethan Riddle delivers a message for us focusing on 2 Corinthians 5:14-21. Join us as we discuss what reconciliation with Jesus means and how believers should be stewarding the Gospel of Jesus Christ through our everyday lives.

Today, we read through Mark 1:14-28 where Jesus begin His ministry, calls His first disciples, and heals a man with an unclean spirit. We discuss three main words throughout this scripture including: crisis, immediately, and authority. In addition, we discuss the following questions: Is there a "Jesus crisis" in your life? Where are you not in submission to Christ? Are you kindred spirits with the demon in Mark 1? Is delayed obedience the same as disobedience?

Why did Jesus have to be baptized? What is the one thing that pleases God? Where is "The Trinity" in the Bible? What divine pictures are in the text? These are all questions we attempt to answer as we read through Mark 1:9-15 in which John the Baptist baptizes Jesus, Jesus is tempted, and Jesus begins His ministry. In addition, after reading through this text, here are three questions to answer: Has Jesus been identified in your life? Are you being tempted? Has the gospel gotten ahold of you?

During this sermon, we start discussing the beginning of the gospel of Mark. This fast-moving gospel story opens with the discussion of the gospel, prophecies & preparation, the wake up of repentance, and baptism. We discuss the meaning of the gospel, who Jesus is, who John the Baptist was, and the meaning of baptism both to first century Jews and to us today.

Join us as we dive into reading and discussing the Gospel of Mark. The Gospel of Mark provides us with a lot of biblical truth into the life of Jesus. During this sermon, we discuss the supplemental passage at the end of the book of Mark in which Jesus gives the disciples the mission to GO and spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Join us as we read through Psalm 13. Everyone has a choice in life. You are either living for you, for the world, or for God. We have to choose that, not just one time as a child, but every single day.

Cell phones and computers are, by now, baked into our society. We use these devices for many things, but one use of this technology is communication. Letters, words, and phrases are chained together to communicate thoughts, concepts, and intent via text, voice, video, etc. For better or worse, we rely on this for daily life. But what happens if these technologies stop working? Most conversation would stop, essentially cutting us off from many friends and family, and leaving us feeling quite alone. One beautiful thing about our Lord, is that He embeds within the human soul all the technology we would ever need to communicate with Him, that is prayer. And if we are in Christ, the reception never faults. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.

Decisions... some make them quickly, decisively, and with purpose. Others take their time; they are more slow and methodical, or maybe just indecisive by nature. We make decisions every day. Some are small, and we think that likely, they do not mean much. Others are of a larger caliber with even larger consequences. There is one type of decision though, that transcends all human types and personalities. It impacts even the smallest of decisions and its consequences are enormous. That is, who do we trust?

Join us as we read through Psalm 10. Sometimes in life, we question where is God. Through this psalm, we see that God is here and that we need Him in every aspect of our lives.

The thought that man was not an accidental evolution of primordial stardust, but instead an intricately designed creation of God is amazing. Add to that, this Creator Jehovah God cares for man intimately and is genuinely interested in his life and eternity - just incredible! The Wonder of wonders, O how could it be? That God became flesh and was given for me! The Almighty came down and walked among men. The Wonder of wonders, He died for my sin.

People judge. We often judge. And we know the Lord judges. "Judgment" as it seems is a fabric weaved into our society and even the whole of life. The difference between how Christians judge and how unbelievers judge should be vastly different in fairness, equity, and reason. Perhaps though, the primary difference should be the fact that we judge ourselves accurately and fairly first so that, when we must judge others, we may judge with clear hearts and minds, and giving grace upon grace when sharing the truth. All the "what-ifs" of life can most certainly haunt us. Time is also unforgiving and moves on no matter what. As per cause & effect, we make decisions and then often feel the consequences of those decisions, and sometimes those are quite painful. Hopelessness, despair, and grief have plagued mankind since the fall and we have all had tastes of these unsavory characters in our own ways. So what do we do? Should we analyze, process, over-process, and dwell? Or should we perhaps turn to the Lord?

God's love is enormous, beautiful, and magnificently deep. However, it doesn't change the fact that he hates sin and punishes those who choose to live and die apart from Him. "There is no such thing as 'abstract evil' except in dictionaries and philosophy books" (Wiersbe). The church today must wrestle with these uncomfortable truths, always being faithful to Scripture and to the Lord who authored it. When it has all been said and done, may we be compassionate towards the lost but ultimately loyal to Christ no matter the cost.

Last week, our church stopped for a moment and just breathed in prayer and spent time with each other in the Spirit of the Almighty God - and what a beautiful experience it was. This week, we jump back into the Psalms as King David also reaches out in desperate prayer of reflection on his currently negative situation. Obviously, we today, also have difficult and trying times and experiences. It matters what we run to for comfort and who we trust during these seasons. May David's words be an example for us all as we navigate this thing called life.

"Help!" Sometimes, that is all we need to say. Life is often difficult, but during some seasons, this life that we are living seems downright impossible! In the first real prayer of the book of Psalms, the author conveys this tone of hopelessness, despair, and even anxiety. What we hope you will feel today is permission... permission to be raw, unfiltered, and honest with our Lord. If we can start here, with the trust of where we are, the Lord can help us.

Serving and knowing God through the person of Jesus is a blessing. And what a joy it is! However, in carrying out this beautiful honor, human beings must acknowledge authority of Jesus, and therein respect the rules and guidelines Scripture sets for us. We are free to live our lives, but life is so much better when we follow His rules and when we are guided by The Word and The Spirit. Genuinely, the "grace" of God is the opportunity to partner with Him prior to His return. Oh what love!

In this life there are two ways of being human - being godly or ungodly. Godly people live by faith while ungodly people live by sight. Godly people possess wisdom from above that helps them navigate life's uncertainties while ungodly people crumble when they are caught by surprise. Godly people bless others simply by their existence, while ungodly people tend to drain others. Our goal, obviously, should be to be godly people, full of faith, love, and joy, and being a blessing to all around us. That is the theme of our text today.

Crisis... This is where many meet God for the first time, and even subsequently thereafter. The writer of the Scripture passages we are reading today found himself in this state after pursuing what seems like every possible venture, and yet still experiencing desperation, hopelessness, and a loss for life's meaning. These feelings are not limited to unbelievers. When not focused on Christ, the saved can experience these same emotions. The good news is, because of Jesus, it doesn't have to be this way!

Our relationship with Jesus should be a priority in the life of a follower of Jesus. We should prioritize his teachings and make ourselves available to him so that we can live and look like Jesus. We can become just as distracted by well-intentioned overactivity as we can by cares, riches, and pleasures of this life. Our relationship with Jesus is the necessary thing in this life. To be a disciple of Jesus is to sit at his feet.

A mother's love is a distinct, sacrificial love noted specifically in the Greek language of the New Testament as "philoteknos." This word translated as "love" implies caring, nurturing, meeting needs, embracing, and befriending. A mother's love is always changing and morphing as children grow, yet Scripture informs us there is always a crucial role for a Godly mother from the stages of "bringing up children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord," (Eph. 6:4) to "the older women training the younger women how to love their husbands and their children." (Titus 2:5) Each phase along the way is vital to the development of your child, your home, and this church body. Thank you mothers for all you do!

The Lord's Supper and Baptism - the two biblical ordinances that Jesus left us. Today, we are partaking in both here at Hope Church Mill Creek. Let us take some time to observe what Jesus instructed to us before he left this earth. We will partake in Communion with our brothers and sisters in Christ both in this place and all around the world, while we also observe & rejoice with others taking their first big step in the Christian life.

We are so glad you are here with us today on Easter and we hope and pray that Jesus speaks to you through the kindness and generosity of our people. Thank you so much for being here. Followers of Jesus all over the globe celebrate the holiday of Easter because of the life, death, and resurrection of a man named Jesus. It is for us truly a holy day. The questions we'd like to answer today are, why did the resurrection happen and what did that accomplish?

Happy Palm Sunday to you! Even though we dealt with this part of Jesus' story during last Sunday's sermon, we still encourage you to say "Hosanna!" or "O save!" to Jesus whether you never have or you need His grace again for the 100th or 1,000th time. Remember, God resists the proud but He gives grace to the humble. Today, we go back to that final week where everything begins to physically fall apart in our Lord Jesus' life. He's abandoned, betrayed, abused, and broken by the very ones he came to save. But we know that through all this brokenness, God is still working.
