In this episode I take a call from Ivan, a dear brother serving a 20 year sentence. He came to faith after decades of a committed life to his gang lead him to face life without the possibility of parole. His whole life on the verge of falling apart when he finally decided to give his life to Christ.

Today I’ll be talking with an amazing brother behind bars. Ryan is an elder serving the body on his yard for now 3 years. On this phone call I’ll ask him how his self education and training for ministry, how he started serving as an elder and he’s even going to quote John 1:1-5 in Greek.

Today I’ll be talking to Andres on the phone. Andres is in prison learning Greek and I’ll ask him about the challenges inmates face when pursuing a biblical education, his own passion for learning about the Bible and he’s even going to quote the Lords prayer to us in Greek.

In tour first episode. I talk to a good friend Ryan who took the baton of teaching Greek in prison while he finishes serving his term. I ask him about the seemingly universal passion of inmates for biblical studies, the shockingly minimal resources for them to pursue these interests and what it’s like to teach advanced courses like Greek behind bars.
