What do a broken RV door, tornado warnings, and a freezing night have to do with the road to Emmaus? More than you might think! In this episode, I share a real-life story from a recent camping trip that didn’t go as planned—and how it unexpectedly connected to the Sunday Gospel from two weeks ago. (Luke 24:13–35). The disciples walked with Jesus and didn’t even recognize Him… and sometimes, we do the same. I'll talk about what it looks like to walk through frustrating, confusing, or disappointing moments—and how God is often right there, even when we don’t see Him. This weekend’s Gospel (John 20:19–31) hit me in a way I couldn’t shake. The apostles were hiding behind locked doors—afraid, uncertain, and carrying everything that had just happened. And instead of a lecture… Jesus shows up and says, “Peace be with you.” Then there’s Thomas—the one who needed proof. And then there’s us… the ones who didn’t see, but are still called to believe. We also connect this to Divine Mercy Sunday and the message of Saint Faustina Kowalska—a reminder that Jesus meets us with mercy, not judgment. Why am I Catholic? Not just because I was raised that way… but because I chose it. I also share a deeply personal moment of surrender in Adoration during my battle with body dysmorphia and an eating disorder… and how that became the beginning of healing.
