Launching Men

This week we start 1st Corinthians and look at the issues Paul has heard about in the church and his words of correction.

This week we finish the book. We see some time has elapsed and the people have in many ways forgoten their promise to God. Nehemiah returns to once again point the poeple back to God.

In this Chapter Nehemiah establishes the lineage of the priests and Levites - and they are leading the celebration of dedicating the walls to God for what He has done through them.

This week Nehemiah realizes that a good city needs people living inside it, so the leaders set out to draw lots and populate the city.

This week we read in detail the covenant the people made to God and how we can apply that in our lives.

The people continue to realize their sin - and the sin of their ancestors and seek God for forgiveness.

This week we see the people turning to God with a hunger for what His Word has for them - and find some similarities to our lives in the process. 

The walls are built! This seems like another chapter of names... but is there more to it?

Nehemiah shows great wisdom and discernment when threatened.

This week we're looking at leadership lessons learned from Nehemiah as he deals with internal issues.

This week we're in chapter four and looking at how Nehemiah handles adversity.

The book of Nehemiah is a great example of what one mad with passion and dertermination can do when trusting on the direction and favor of God. This week we're looking at Chapter 1.

This week we're finishing up the book of 2nd Peter - looking at Chapter 3 and Peter's warning to the church about false teachers and the promises of what's to come.

This week we take a look at Chapter 2 as Peter continues to warn the church about false teachers. We examine what this means for us today and how we can talk to our son's about this topic.

This week we take a look at the highlights of 2 Peter Chapter 1. Peter warns about false teachers and lays out the building blocks for how Christians should live their lives.

This week we conclude our overview of 1 Peter by finishing chapter 5.

This week we're looking at Chapter 4 in 1 Peter as it relates to our opportunities to speak truth into the life of our kids. 

This week we dive into Chapter 3 of 1 Peter as we continue to read together.

This week we look at Chapter 2 and how we can use the truths in this chapter to continue discipling our son's through intentional but casual conversation. Key topics include getting all forms of evil out of our lives, loving others, and respecting authorites. 

This week we look at Chapter One for key takeaways as we look at having intentional casual discopleship with our sons!

This week we conclude the book of 2nd Timothy and look at a few key verses and thoughts. As always, there is a lot more here to dig into, but as we look at the high points, we focus on: Always be ready with the truth of the Word of God Stand firm in your faith even when others are abandoning you Take time to lean the voice of the Holy Spirit in prayer and reading the Word   Bonus: This week we look at a small verse in this chapter and tackle the question, "why are some prayers of faith answered and others are not".

This week we're looking at Chapter 3 in 2nd Timothy. This is another short chapter and easy read. A few concepts we look at in this episode: 1 - Verses 1-4 Paul outlines how people will act in the final days 2 - Verse 5 Paul talks about these people having a form of Godliness but denying it's power. We'll talk about what that means and how we can apply it in conversations with our sons. 3 - Verse 12 highlights that anyone wanting to live a Godly life will be persecuted. We dive into what this means and how we can discuss this with our sons for practical every day living. 4 - Verses 16-17 reminds us all scripture is God breathed.  Even though it's a short chapter, there is a lot here to think on and bring into everyday normal conversations with our sons as it applies directly to what they are going through!

Top ideas for conversastions with our sons: Teach (and receive) sound doctrine Don't shy away from hardship and struggle Work hard - run well Keep the main thing the main thing and don't get pulled into drama Be mindful of how we live so we can show ourselves approved workmen to God
