Do you Want to Be Made Well?

In John 5, we encounter a profound question that cuts through religious ritual and false hope: 'Do you want to be made well?' At the Pool of Bethesda, where crowds of sick people waited for a superstitious stirring of waters, Jesus singles out one man who had been paralyzed for 38 years. This passage exposes how easily we substitute religion and superstition for a genuine relationship with the Savior. We see that Jesus doesn't heal us by fixing our lives; He heals us by giving us His. Subscribe to Life Community Church - Sermons on Soundwise

The Breath of God: The Power and Purpose of God's Word

At the heart of this message lies a profound truth: Scripture is not merely ancient text, but the very breath of God—living, active, and life-giving. Drawing from Psalm 119, the longest chapter in the Bible where 171 of 176 verses reference God's Word, we're invited to understand that just as God's breath brought physical life to Adam and spiritual life through Christ, His Word continues to breathe fresh life into us daily. The parallel between our physical need for oxygen and our spiritual need for God's Word is striking—without breath, we die; without His Word, we spiritually suffocate. This isn't about religious obligation or checking boxes on our spiritual to-do list. Rather, it's about recognizing that God's Word has the power to create, sustain, convict, and transform us. When we face the valley of death, the chaos of daily life, or the weight of personal tragedy, it's the promises embedded in Scripture that hold us together. The Light Promised

This powerful message confronts us with an uncomfortable truth: before we can experience the light of Christ, we must first acknowledge the darkness we're living in. Drawing from Isaiah 8 and 9, we're challenged to see how ancient Judah's struggles mirror our modern world—cultural confusion, fear-driven politics, spiritual compromise, and human self-reliance. Isaiah doesn't sugarcoat the reality: Judah had kept their 'high places,' those pagan altars they refused to tear down because it wasn't politically correct. Today, our high places look different—they're the screens we turn to for identity, the algorithms we trust more than revelation, the secret sins we hide in darkness. But here's the hope: God speaks light into existence before we even know we need it. Subscribe to Life Community Church - Sermons on Soundwise

Come and See - Then Go and Tell

The Ins and Outs of a Joyfull Life

In the opening of Philippians 2, the Apostle Paul presents Jesus Christ as our great example of humility, through which God accomplished so many glorious works culminating in the victory of our salvation. We read it, and we agree with it, but how do we go about practicing His example? How could any of us ever hope to be as humble and perfectly submitted to God like Jesus? How could any of us ever hope to measure up in character or accomplishment? It seems presumptuous to even try. But Paul is not asking us in his letter to “reach for the stars” in our desire to imitate Christ. Rather, he is showing us the divine pattern for how God’s power works IN us to accomplish His will—it happens not by imitation, but by incarnation. The Christian life is not a series of ups and downs, but a process of “ins and outs.” God works “In”, and we work “Out.” Christ works in you so the world can see Him through you. The Descent of Glory: Known By Our Love

At the heart of our faith lies a profound paradox: the God of the universe laying aside His glory to love us. This message delves deep into Philippians 2, exploring how Christ's humility should shape our own lives. We're challenged to release our pride and embrace a life of selfless love, mirroring Jesus' example. The Trinity dance - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit eternally glorifying each other - invites us into a beautiful relational dynamic. As we contemplate this, we're called to ask: How can we pour ourselves out for others as Christ did for us? This isn't just theology; it's a radical call to live differently in a world obsessed with self-promotion. By embracing humility, we open ourselves to experience the transformative power of God's love and to share it with those around us. Subscribe to Life Community Church - Sermons on Soundwise

The Power of Unity Through Humility

In a culture built on honor, everyone asks, "What's in it for me?" But this mindset is often an enemy of unity in the body of Christ. True unity begins when we remember who brought us together--Christ. And this unity flows from humility, not uniformity in our mind, heart, and hands. To Live Is...

Take a listen to this powerful message from the opening chapter of Philippians, where we see the Apostle Paul concluding that, "To live is Christ, to die is gain." If Christ defines our lives, then death is just the doorway to our greatest reward. When Christ is our greatest hope, shame in this life has no voice. A life for Christ is never wasted, never shaken, and never over--it only gets better. Subscribe to Life Community Church - Sermons on Soundwise

  32. 69

    Chains That Change Lives

The letter to the Philippians was written from a Roman prison cell. Paul wants us to see that even though our hands may be tied, God's hands are never tied. God used Paul's chains to advance the Gospel. Paul's critics couldn't stop the advance of the Gospel message, and Paul's crisis still honored Christ. God often uses prison cells as pulpits to preach the Gospel to others. Your setbacks may be setups for someone else's salvation! Subscribe to Life Community Church - Sermons on Soundwise

  33. 68

    The Joy of Gospel Fellowship

What steals our joy? Our joy is unstable because we often base it on circumstances, not Christ. As followers of Christ, we have a unique and durable source of joy to draw from in this life. In this opening study from the book of Philippians, we find that believers have joy through Gospel fellowship, Gospel confidence, and Gospel abundance. Joy isn’t found in fixing your life—it’s found in following Christ! Subscribe to Life Community Church - Sermons on Soundwise

    Prayer That Outlasts Drought

Who do we really trust when life gets hard? Self-reliance and self-definition are celebrated in our culture, but they are empty. When suffering or dry seasons come, the self collapses under its own weight. The story of Elijah helps us restore trust in God during dry seasons. God always provides--but often just enough to keep us coming back to Him. God leads us through empty places to grow deeper trust. Subscribe to Life Community Church - Sermons on Soundwise
