Send us Fan MailMotherhood transforms us in unexpected ways—sometimes humbling us right when we think we've got it all figured out. That's exactly what happened to Libby Gendron, dental hygienist, wife to her high school sweetheart, and first-time mom to her adorable son Xander. In this heartfelt conversation, Libby shares how she went from confidently believing she was "made to be a mom" to the humbling reality of actually becoming one. With remarkable vulnerability, she takes us through her traumatic emergency C-section birth story—a harrowing experience where her son's umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck and through his legs, leading to dangerous complications. The story is a powerful testament to a mother's strength and the importance of surrendering to circumstances beyond our control.Libby's journey through breastfeeding reveals another transformation—from painful struggles to what she describes as her "superpower," allowing her to calm her son in any situation. She speaks with refreshing honesty about the rewards and challenges, describing how something she initially found difficult became one of her most treasured connections with her son.Perhaps most compelling is Libby's passionate perspective on boundaries and intentional parenting. Drawing from her own childhood experiences, she explains why protecting her son fiercely matters so much to her—even when it creates tension with family members who don't understand. Her approach to everything from food choices to screen time reflects a thoughtful, researched parenting style that puts her child's wellbeing first.Throughout the episode, Libby returns to her guiding principle: "Let go and let God." This simple yet profound mantra has helped her manage anxiety, find peace in uncertainty, and embrace the beautiful chaos that is motherhood. Fall Bucket List, My New Job (at a Med Spa) and Life-Changing Realizations
Send us Fan MailThe leaves are changing, the air is crisp, and change is in the air—both in nature and in my life. After MANY months of waiting, I'm finally able to share some major news that's been bubbling behind the scenes! This solo episode (my first ever!) takes you through my family's fall bucket list—from cozy cabin mornings with coffee to multiple pumpkin patch visits that my family tolerates because they love me. I confess my Halloween costume woes (despite years of creative genius, I've never once won a costume contest) and share my vision for the perfect autumn. There's something about fall that invites reflection, gratitude, and new beginnings. The biggest news? I'm joining the team at Balance Med Spa in Broken Arrow! What started with a simple phone call to a building under renovation has blossomed into an incredible new career opportunity. After months of intensive training alongside my full-time nursing job, I'll be helping clients with everything from wrinkle relaxers and dermal fillers to hormone replacement therapy and laser treatments. Working with these kingdom-minded, supportive women has already been transformative, reminding me what it feels like to be confident in my own skin again.During this transition, God revealed something profound about timing and dreams. Sometimes He plants desires in our hearts not for immediate action, but for us to steward them patiently—praying into them and preparing for the right moment. This revelation brought unexpected peace in my chaotic season of working two jobs while managing family life and podcast commitments. Rather than rushing to fulfill every calling at once, I'm learning to be faithful where I am, trusting His perfect timing.Mark your calendars for September 30th—Balance Med Spa's grand opening! I'd love to see you there, show you around our stunning space, and help you discover services that might transform not just how you look, but how you feel about yourself. Bring friends, make it a night out, and let's celebrate new beginnings together! It would mean the world to me if you would like, subscribe leave a review and/or share with a friend if you enjoyed this episode! When doctors diagnosed her first daughter with hydrops—a rare, life-threatening condition with fluid building up in her baby's body—at 31 weeks pregnant, Konnor's journey into motherhood became one of medical uncertainties and deep faith. Doctors performed an experimental treatment using poppy seed oil that had only been tried once before at their hospital, with unsuccessful results. The miracle that followed changed everything. Now 35 weeks pregnant with her second daughter, Konnor found herself facing the impossible again: the same diagnosis doctors said had virtually no genetic likelihood of recurring. Yet within weeks of beginning community prayers, the condition mysteriously cleared from scans. These medical journeys have shaped Konnor's perspective on motherhood, faith, and what truly matters.Beyond medical challenges, Konnor opens up about balancing motherhood with her pursuit of cosmetology school, creating a career that allows flexibility to be present for her children while still contributing financially. She shares how becoming a mother transformed her priorities and deepened her relationship with God in ways she never anticipated. What resonates most is Konnor's intentionality about building a home where faith is woven into everyday moments—from playing worship music to praying multiple times daily with her spirited toddler Hallie, who now faithfully prays for her baby sister. Konnor's legacy of faith, passed down from her grandmother and mother, continues as she raises daughters who understand that faith isn't just a Sunday commitment but a way of life.Whether you're navigating your own medical uncertainties, juggling education with motherhood, or simply trying to find purpose in the beautiful chaos of raising little ones, Konnor's story reminds us that we don't have to do it alone. 17 | Hold Fast: Cradling Grief and Joy with Widow and Mama Mallory Moseby
Send us Fan MailThe weight of unimaginable loss meets the light of unwavering faith in this powerful conversation with Mallory Mosby, a young widow raising two daughters after losing her firefighter husband Harrison to cancer. Mallory's love story with Harrison was beautiful but brief—they fell in love quickly, married, and welcomed their daughters Kollyns ("strength") and Gracelee ("hope") in quick succession. Then cancer changed everything. Through pregnancy, delivery, and raising a toddler, Mallory stood beside Harrison during his brave fight, learning lessons about love and faith that transformed her forever. What stands out most in Mallory's testimony is her conscious choice to embrace joy even while grieving deeply. "I have two choices," she explains. "I can be bitter or I can choose joy." This isn't toxic positivity—Mallory openly acknowledges the loneliness of widowhood, the challenges of single parenting, and those mornings when grief hits unexpectedly hard. Yet she continues finding purpose in raising her daughters to know both their earthly father's legacy and their heavenly Father's love.Listen as Mallory shares about completing a marathon to honor Harrison's memory, how she's creating new family traditions, and what it means to have a relationship with God that evolved from occasional bedtime prayers to constant conversation throughout the day. Her journey reminds us that strength often looks like simply showing up with shaky hands, that grief and joy can coexist, and that even in our deepest pain, we are never walking alone.Whether you're navigating loss, raising children solo, or simply trying to trust God through difficult seasons, Mallory's story will remind you that hope remains alive even in life's darkest chapters.🎵 Check out the link below to listen to Hold Fast • So We May• Joseph McKeen https://youtu.be/loSER03Nzm0?si=_uMd7doZ3xEyBivc📺 Watch Don’t quit on Six https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1Ai6gNnFiQ/?mibextid=wwXIfrIt would mean the world to me if you would like, subscribe leave a review and/or share with a friend if you enjoyed this episode! 16 | Church Hurt, Cringey Photoshoots & Bingeworthy Shows: A Conversation with Elizabeth Hert
Send us Fan MailWhat happens when church trauma shatters your faith, but motherhood calls you to rebuild something authentic for your children? Today's raw conversation with my high school friend Elizabeth Hurt dives into exactly this tension.Elizabeth, now a mom of three spirited girls (Holland, Lennon, and Iverson), opened her heart about the devastating spiritual trauma her family experienced. The aftermath had her and her husband questioning everything they thought she knew about faith. But rather than abandoning belief altogether, she found herself becoming what she calls a "spiritual newborn" – stripping away the performance of religion to rediscover what genuine faith actually looks like."I just want my life to be the proof of Your love," Elizabeth shares, explaining how she's moved away from the checklist Christianity of her past toward simply loving like Jesus. This transformation hasn't been quick or easy, especially while raising three young daughters who need their own foundation. What resonated most powerfully was Elizabeth's approach to protecting her children while nurturing their spirituality. Having experienced "church hurt" firsthand, she's intentional about empowering her daughters with agency over their bodies and teaching them their voice matters. "That is your body," she tells them firmly, ensuring they know they can always speak up if something feels wrong. The conversation takes a beautiful turn when we discuss how motherhood itself becomes a path back to authentic faith. Elizabeth shares how seeing her cousin live out genuine Christianity without judgment became more healing than any sermon could be. Between motherhood chaos, rebuilding faith, and finding herself through creativity with her business Wooden Okie, Elizabeth reminds us that healing isn't linear but it is possible. Sometimes, the very things that broke us – in her case, religion twisted by human failure – can be reclaimed in healthier, more authentic ways.Whether you've experienced church hurt, are questioning your faith while raising children, or simply need to know you're not alone in the messy journey of motherhood, this conversation offers both validation and hope. 13 | Diapers, Worship, and Doing the Next Right Thing: A Conversation with Worship Leader Kristen Christy
Send us Fan MailWhat happens when the beautiful dreams we hold for motherhood collide with unexpected heartbreak? Kristen Christy knows this terrain intimately. As a worship leader, mother of four "earthside" children, and a woman who has walked through the valley of infant loss, she brings profound wisdom about finding joy even in life's most difficult seasons.Motherhood often feels like a delicate balancing act—juggling the needs of our children, our marriages, our work, and ourselves. But what if balance isn't actually the goal? Kristen challenges us to release the pressure of "having it all together" and instead embrace a life of open hands and surrendered control. Her refreshing approach of simply "doing the next right thing" offers freedom to mamas drowning in expectations.Kristen's faith was tested in ways she never imagined. The raw honesty she shares about questioning God's goodness while ultimately discovering deeper trust will resonate with anyone who has faced disappointment or grief. Her journey reminds us that our broken pieces, when surrendered to God, can become the foundation for unexpected beauty and purpose. One of the most powerful concepts Kristen introduces is "inviting the glorious into the mundane." Whether you're singing worship songs on a platform at church or whispering lullabies at 2 a.m., every moment becomes sacred when we recognize it as worship. This perspective transforms how we view the repetitive tasks of motherhood—the endless laundry, meal prep, and child training—revealing them as opportunities for deep heart work and divine encounter. With the unique perspective of raising both teenagers and toddlers simultaneously, Kristen offers encouragement that the seeds planted during those exhausting early years truly do bear fruit. Her story is a beautiful reminder that motherhood isn't just about surviving the chaos—it's about discovering joy in the midst of it.Follow Kristen Christy on instagram at https://www.instagram.com/kk.christy?igsh=OHpxbjltMzZpdGxqIt would mean the world to me if you would like, subscribe leave a review and/or share with a friend if you enjoyed this episode! 12 | Grace-Filled Motherhood: Bible Study, Discipleship, and the Beauty of Being a Helpmate – with Author and Bible Study Resource Creator Nicole Rehmert
Send us Fan MailWhat happens when life's hardest moments collide with God's deepest truths? Nicole Remert has lived this collision firsthand—from being separated from God in her teenage years, to hospital rooms where her son's life hung in the balance. As a wife, author, homeschooling mom, and the creator of Bible Study Resources, Nicole guides us through her transformation from party girl to passionate Bible teacher with stunning honesty. Her journey began when, at just 18 years old, she heard the gospel for the first time and discovered that God desired a relationship with her. This revelation changed everything. The heart of our conversation explores why scripture study isn't just nice but necessary—especially for exhausted mothers. "Christian mamas need to remind themselves of the gospel daily," Nicole shares. "We're saved by God's grace, by God's unmerited favor, and then we live in God's grace." This truth sustained her when her youngest son Braxton developed infantile spasms at four months old, beginning years of medical crises where scripture memory became her lifeline in terrifying hospital rooms.Nicole offers refreshingly practical wisdom on biblical womanhood, discipling children, and finding God's presence in the hardest seasons. Her approach to teaching theology to children involves not just knowledge but authentically living out her relationship with God. "More is caught than taught," she explains, describing how she wants her sons to see her genuine worship and prayers.Perhaps most powerful is Nicole's perspective on parenting a special needs child: "Having a special needs kid is such a powerful picture of the gospel. 11 | Wild and Free: Embracing Nature-Filled Motherhood with Rachel Olmstead
Send us Fan MailWhat happens when a childhood dream of motherhood is threatened by a medical diagnosis? How does healing our past shape the way we parent? And what does it mean to create a home where barefoot adventure and deep faith intertwine?Rachel Olmstead's journey into motherhood began with an unexpected challenge - diagnosed with pre-cervical cancer at 17, doctors warned that having children might be difficult. Years later, she and her husband navigated a year of trying to conceive, a period that stretched her faith while drawing her closer to God in profound ways. Today, she's mother to three beautiful children, each with their own vibrant personality, living a lifestyle she describes as "barefoot and nature-filled."This conversation explores how motherhood becomes transformative when approached with intention and grace. Rachel shares how coming from a broken home where she often felt unseen has shaped her commitment to creating space where her children feel heard and valued. She describes motherhood as a healing journey - not just for her children, but for her younger self.Rachel's approach to balancing homeschooling, photography work, and family life centers on being "fully where your feet are" rather than seeking perfect equilibrium. She embraces "grace over guilt," acknowledging that sometimes the dishes wait because connection takes priority. Her relationship with God serves as the foundation for everything, reminding her that she's not just raising children but discipling hearts. The most touching revelation? Each night, her children ask, "Mama, where are we going tomorrow?" - testament to the sense of adventure and wonder she's cultivated. Beyond muddy feet and creek explorations, Rachel hopes her children remember growing up where curiosity was welcomed, their voices mattered, and love remained the constant thread weaving through everyday chaos.Join us for this heartfelt conversation about finding joy in the wild journey of motherhood and creating a home where faith and freedom flourish together.Follow Rachel on FB, instagram and check out her photography! https://www.facebook.com/share/1BMHy7TbQq/?mibextid=LQQJ4dhttps://www.instagram.com/rachelolmsteadphoto_?igsh=MWphY3J2Njg4eHZxcg%3D%3D&utm_source=qrhttps://rachelolmsteadphoto.mypixieset.comIt would mean the world to me if you would like, subscribe leave a review and/or share with a friend if you enjoyed this episode! 10 | When The Devil Knocks: Finding God's Presence in Your Darkest Moments: A Conversation with Lisa Hutchinson
Send us Fan MailWhat happens when a teenage mom grows up alongside her child? Meet Lisa Hutchinson – nurse, single mother, and woman of faith who doesn't shy away from the messy parts of her story. In this deeply moving conversation, Lisa speaks with raw honesty about becoming a mother at 18 and the complicated journey that followed. She shares her battles with depression and suicidal ideation while raising her son Bladen, revealing how her darkest moments became pathways to greater faith and resilience.Lisa's candid discussion about mental health extends beyond her own experience to her teenage son's struggles with bullying and social challenges after returning to public school. Their parallel journeys through therapy illustrate the generational impact of mental health awareness and the courage it takes to seek help.Perhaps most powerful is Lisa's perspective on faith as both comfort and challenge throughout her life. Her beautiful analogy that "the strength God gives one person to fight a fire is different from what He gives another to grow a garden" offers listeners a fresh way to understand their own struggles without comparison. For healthcare workers, Lisa's honest reflection on nursing burnout during COVID will resonate deeply, as will her encouragement to consider change when a career no longer brings fulfillment. "If you're not happy, don't stay," she advises, challenging the notion that loyalty must come at the expense of wellbeing.Whether you're navigating motherhood, mental health challenges, career transitions, or faith questions, Lisa's story reminds us that perfection isn't the goal – persistence is. Her journey showcases the beauty that emerges when we embrace our full story, even the chapters we might wish to rewrite.Listen, subscribe, and join our community as we continue finding joy in the wild journey of motherhood together. If you or someone you love is struggling with mental health or suicidal thoughts, please reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. 09 | The Art of Co-Parenting with Grace: A Conversation with Kyla Burke
Send us Fan MailKyla Burke's journey through motherhood defies conventional expectations. As a school nurse, photographer, and mother of three girls, she navigates life's complexities with remarkable grace and unwavering faith. Her professional path took unexpected turns—from business school to nursing—inspired by watching compassionate healthcare providers care for her grandfather during his final years. What truly distinguishes Kyla's story is her approach to co-parenting. Where many see inevitable conflict, she's created collaboration. Without minimizing the challenges, she shares how establishing clear boundaries and maintaining respectful communication created a harmonious environment where her daughter thrives with four supportive parents. The family attends events together, celebrates milestones jointly, and uses positive language like "bonus mom" instead of "stepmom" to foster connection rather than division.Beyond family dynamics, Kyla reveals how she maintains balance through her photography business, Raising Grace Co. This creative outlet fills her cup differently than her nurturing roles, providing necessary renewal for her soul. Her perspective on finding joy amid chaos comes from her father-in-law's wisdom: "Every season has a purpose, a pain, and a privilege."For mothers feeling overwhelmed, Kyla's story offers both practical wisdom and emotional reassurance. She reminds us that our children are "the oldest they've ever been and the youngest they'll ever be"—a powerful call to presence even in difficult moments. Through faith, intentionality, and genuine connection, she demonstrates how to create beauty from life's most challenging circumstances. What will you take away from Kyla's journey? 08 | Permission to be Imperfect: A Conversation with Kendall Wellner
Send us Fan MailWhat if we stopped pretending that motherhood is always picture-perfect? Kendall Wellner, mother to 18-month-old Ellie, joins me for a refreshingly raw conversation about the beautiful mess of motherhood – from fertility treatments and pregnancy loss to those postpartum struggles nobody warns you about.Kendall's fertility journey took four years, multiple treatments, and walking through the heartbreak of loss before finally welcoming her rainbow baby. But that was just the beginning. With remarkable candor, she shares how she didn't feel an immediate connection with her daughter after birth – something many mothers experience but few discuss. "The first year was the toughest year of my life," she confesses, describing the anxiety, identity crisis, and unexpected emotions that blindsided her during postpartum. We dive deep into how motherhood transforms everything from your marriage to your faith. Kendall beautifully articulates how seeing her daughter helped her comprehend just a fraction of God's love for us: "When I looked at her...I was like, gosh, He loves me and her. I can't even imagine." This spiritual awakening became a source of strength during her darkest moments. What makes this conversation truly special is our shared conviction that honesty creates community. Whether discussing "mom fails" during tornado warnings or the guilt of wanting to return to work, we're challenging the perfect-mom narrative that leaves so many feeling inadequate. As Kendall reminds us: "It's okay if you want to be a working mom. It's okay if you are struggling or hate postpartum. It's okay if you don't want to breastfeed."Whether you're trying to conceive, in the thick of postpartum, or simply needing permission to be imperfect, this episode offers both solidarity and hope. 07 | The Life-Changing Power of Believing in Your Child- A Conversation with Amy Bray
Send us Fan Mail"My husband reminded me that I didn't need a ministry background—I just needed to trust that if God led me to this role, He would equip me." Amy Bray's reflection on stepping into early childhood ministry speaks to anyone who's ever doubted their calling. Over coffee and conversation, we dive deep into how one family's journey through autism defied medical expectations and created unlimited possibilities.Amy's story captivates from the start—married to her high school sweetheart for over 30 years, raising four remarkable sons including Luke, who has autism. When doctors painted a devastatingly bleak picture of Luke's future, Amy made a pivotal decision: "I accept that we have autism. But I do not accept that this will be his life." What follows is an extraordinary testament to advocacy, faith, and the power of believing in your child. Today, Luke works at a hospital, has competed in Special Olympics (even serving as a delegate to Washington D.C.), and is preparing for semi-independent living. The conversation weaves through hilarious "mom fails" (including finding small objects in ears during a doctor's appointment), the anxieties of parenting, and why Disney trips remain their family's sacred tradition—a place where adult children's "shoulders relax, burdens lift, and they have permission to be kids again."Through tears and laughter, Amy shares how their challenges transformed her entire family. Her other sons developed profound empathy, with one discovering his career calling working with special needs children. Most powerfully, she reveals how embracing the unexpected has shown her that "nothing is wasted" in God's plan, not even their hardest days. For any mother feeling overwhelmed by an unexpected diagnosis, career decision, or simply the weight of raising good humans—this conversation offers both practical wisdom and soul-deep encouragement. How might your biggest challenges become your greatest blessings?
