How to Know When You Have a Limiting Belief
(And How to Transform It for a Life Full of Possibilities) In our journeys through life, we often bump up against invisible walls, wondering why our dreams seem just out of reach. We put in the work, visualize the results, and stay consistent, yet the progress feels slow or stagnant. In many cases, these blocks aren’t external at all; they’re internal, hidden in the form of limiting beliefs. Identifying and releasing these beliefs is essential for aligning with the Universe’s flow, allowing abundance, love, and success to flow into our lives freely. What Are Limiting Beliefs? Limiting beliefs are unconscious assumptions or ideas we hold that restrict us from living to our fullest potential. They shape how we see the world, ourselves, and what’s possible for us. Often rooted in childhood, societal influences, or past experiences, these beliefs can feel like absolute truths, yet they don’t have to define us forever. For example: “I’m not good enough.” “I don’t deserve abundance.” “Success only comes with hard struggle.” “People can’t be trusted.” Each of these statements, though they may feel very real, is a perception – one that can change. “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” Wayne dyer How Limiting Beliefs Impact Manifestation In the realm of manifestation, limiting beliefs can act as unseen barriers between our desires and their materialization. Universal laws, like the Law of Attraction, state that we attract what we believe. So, when we hold onto ideas of scarcity, unworthiness, or fear, we unknowingly create more situations that affirm these beliefs. Imagine wanting financial abundance but secretly believing that money is hard to come by. Despite all the visualizing and affirmations, this underlying belief sends out a conflicting signal. It’s like planting seeds in soil that’s too rocky to grow anything – the foundation itself needs nurturing. Signs That a Limiting Belief Is Holding You Back Here are some common ways to recognize that a limiting belief might be affecting you: 1. Persistent Frustration Do you feel stuck or frustrated when it comes to a certain area of life, no matter how hard you try? If you’re pushing toward a goal but feel like you’re treading water, it could be that a belief is counteracting your progress. 2. Repetitive Patterns Are the same negative scenarios repeating? For instance, you keep attracting unavailable partners or jobs that don’t appreciate your talents. Repeating patterns can be the Universe’s way of showing that a limiting belief is in play. 3. Intuitive Nudges Often, our intuition whispers when something is holding us back. If you have a lingering feeling that “something isn’t right,” or a persistent sense that “there’s more for me,” you may be brushing against a belief that it’s time to release. 4. Emotional Triggers Certain situations or topics can cause an outsized emotional reaction. For example, if you feel overly defensive or emotional about money, success, or self-worth, there may be a hidden belief about these areas that needs attention. 5. Self-Sabotaging Behavior Limiting beliefs often lead us to act in ways that prevent us from achieving what we want. Procrastination, perfectionism, or giving up easily can be signs that a limiting belief is in play. 6. Your Language & Stories Pay close attention to the words you use and the stories you tell yourself and others. Do you often say, “I’m too busy for that,” “People always let me down,” or “I’m just not good with money”? These phrases may seem harmless, but they reveal the beliefs beneath the surface. Excuses, prejudices, and recurring “stories” can reinforce limiting beliefs and shape your reality, often without you realizing it. In the realm of manifestation, words have powerful energy, and the language you choose shapes the experiences you attract. 7. Your Visualizations and Affirmations Feel “Off” If you’re doing the inner work but visualizing your dreams feels forced or distant, there might be a hidden belief creating resistance. Authentic belief flows naturally; if it feels off, there may be a contradictory belief pulling against it. How to Release and Transform Limiting Beliefs Acknowledging limiting beliefs is a powerful first step toward freedom. Here are steps to dismantle them: 1. Identify the Limiting Belief Take a moment to journal or meditate on the areas where you feel most blocked. Write down the negative thoughts or assumptions you hold about these areas. For instance, if you’re struggling with love, your belief might be, “I don’t deserve a committed partner.” Awareness is the first step toward transformation. 2. Challenge the Belief Once identified, question its validity. Is this belief absolutely true? Where did it come from? By dissecting the belief, you begin to see that it’s not a fact – it’s an idea you’ve adopted. Practicing this step regularly helps weaken the belief’s hold over time. 3. Replace the Belief with an Empowering Affirmation After questioning the old belief, choose a new, empowering belief that aligns with your desires. If the limiting belief was, “I’m not worthy of love,” replace it with, “I am deeply deserving of unconditional love.” Repeat this new belief as an affirmation daily to rewire your subconscious mind. 4. Use Visualization Techniques Visualize yourself living the reality where your new belief is true. Picture yourself feeling loved, accepted, and abundant. Imagine how you’d feel, what you’d do, and how you’d act. Visualization is a powerful way to start shifting your vibration to match your new belief. 5. Take Inspired Action in Alignment with Your New Belief Taking small, inspired actions can solidify a new belief. If you’re replacing a limiting belief about money, take actions that show your belief in abundance, such as donating a small amount to charity or investing in yourself. Action is a statement to the Universe that you’re serious about this new path. 6. Engage in Imagitation for Manifesting Change One of the most transformative tools is Imagitation, which combines imagination with meditation. Here, imagine yourself living as your most empowered self, with your new belief fully integrated. Visualize specific scenes that embody your ideal life, allowing yourself to feel the emotions as if it’s happening now. This “preview” brings your desired reality closer to the present, making it feel both familiar and attainable. Trusting the Universe’s Guidance The process of uncovering and releasing limiting beliefs is not always instant. It’s an unfolding, a dance with the Universe where you align with its gentle, supportive guidance. When you take these steps, you’ll notice the energetic shifts within and around you – opportunities will appear, synchronicities will increase, and life will seem to flow with greater ease. Remember, the Universe is always in support of your highest path, sending you signs, nudges, and insights to guide you toward what’s possible. When you align with your true self, free from the grip of limiting beliefs, you become a magnet for your deepest desires. So, trust the journey, celebrate the small wins, and know that each limiting belief released is a powerful step toward manifesting a life filled with boundless possibilities. What Messes Up Your Manifestations?
https://youtu.be/o8z2T7WGI0E I’m sure you can relate to this: It’s a new year and you have new inspired dreams, desires, and goals! You feel big changes bubbling up inside and think to yourself, “This is MY year! I’m gonna rock it this time.” Three weeks later, your dreams are dashed and the wind is knocked from your sails. Nothing happened and you’re back to square one! History is bound to repeat itself. Oh, no! In this article, we’ll explore what is messing up your manifestations and what to do about it! I’m sure you know of people who manifest amazing things in their lives and you wonder just what is their secret sauce. You doubt your own abilities and ask the debilitating question, “Why can’t I do that?” Well, I’m here to tell you that you can do that! You are equipped with the same resources to manifest as everybody else. You literally can be, do and have whatever your heart desires. But first, you have to understand a few things, like the principles of manifesting and certain Universal Laws… but most of all, you have to get out of your own way! Let’s back up a bit and cover the 4 Steps to Manifest Anything: Ask Align Allow Take Aligned Action From what I’ve observed over the years is that most people get tripped up on Step #2: Align. It’s the step that throws most people off course and consequently messes up their manifestations. What is Alignment? Energetic Alignment is Step 2 in the Manifestation Process. It’s not a one-and-done step! Alignment takes self-awareness and daily practice. Let’s explore what Alignment is and how to maintain it. Alignment means becoming a vibrational match to the things you’re wanting. Since everything is energy, including you – your body, mind, and spirit are constantly broadcasting certain frequencies or vibrations out into the atmosphere. Your vibration or “vibe” is attracting back to you people, places, and situations that match your vibe much like a magnet – 100% of the time whether you are aware of it or not. We live in a Responsive Universe Let’s use an example. Let’s say you tell your spouse, your couples counselor, and anyone interested that you want your marriage to work and that you’re willing to do what it takes to improve it. But in your heart, you feel depleted, lost, and resentful towards your husband and in the deep spaces of your mind, you equate marriage to prison and yearn for a change. Well, you cannot fake alignment! Your inner broadcast always overrides lip service. Energy never lies and the Universe is always responding to your inner broadcast. So, you might as well come clean and own your deep desires instead of squashing them and manifesting even more misery – which often leads to illness and disease, which is the ultimate misalignment and assault to your very spirit. (Another topic altogether. I digress.) How to get into energetic alignment with your dreams & desires Getting into alignment and maintaining alignment requires self-awareness and daily practice. It doesn’t have to be a difficult task and should be treated with a gentle and compassionate approach. Once you gain momentum with this, it becomes easier and easier as you replace old habits with new ones that truly serve you. Clear Your Energy The first part of getting into alignment is to clear your energy. Think, “Out with the old and in with the new!” Check yourself. Does your desire feel realistic to you? Do you believe you can really lose that weight, for example. How’s your sense of worthiness? Do you feel you deserve what you’re asking for? If not, you’re starting the manifestation process uphill and it will be difficult if not impossible unless you do the inner work necessary. Clean up debilitating limited beliefs. Your beliefs are just thoughts you keep thinking. They are subjective and mutable. Don’t get so attached to them and allow them to dictate your story. You can change your thoughts and beliefs anytime – and it’s imperative to swap those crappy thoughts for ones that truly serve you. This takes self-awareness and the ability to observe yourself. Get rid of ANTS. Dr. Amen labels “automatice negative thinking” as ANTS. They are pesky, annoying and can take over lots of ground in a short time! Catch your ANTS and redirect your thinking to a different, more positive place. This too takes practice, but in time it becomes your new reality. It’s a necessary practice if you want to get out of your rut and manifest BETTER. Line Up Your Energy Now that you’ve made some room, it’s time to align your energy to the things you’re wanting to manifest. Act as if. Even if your belief isn’t completely lined up with your desire, pretend it is so. Imagine what your life would be like with that desire in place – a highly profitable business, an ideal romantic partner, children, marriage, amazing health, a reunited family, traveling to South America and hiking Machu Picchu… Maintain a healthy vibe. Feed your energy well with things that inspire you, like good music, positive TV, and uplifting books. Ground yourself regularly by being in nature or playing with your pet. Practice self-care on the regular and treat yourself with loving kindness. Make up mantras and affirmations that can shake you out of a funk fast! Something as easy as, “I own this day” or “I’m a love magnet”… you get the idea. Weed your garden. Become the constant gardener of your life! Nobody else will. Plant your garden (dreams and desires) with love, fertilize and water it expecting your inevitable harvest (manifestations). Occasionally pull the weeds as they pop up (doubts, limiting thoughts, old beliefs) and toss them in the trash. You’ll have weeds, but you’ve got bigger tools to deal with them – much bigger tools! Use them, gardener! Manifesting is not hard work, but it does take awareness and practice. “Efforting” will only further block your progress, so be easy with this. Once you understand and buy into the manifesting process, it will become so much easier! And then it becomes a lifestyle of wash, rinse, repeat! Remember your inner brilliance!

Manifesting Step 3: ALLOW
https://youtu.be/GnvkTUNBqaM Manifesting anything requires receptivity or allowing on your part. How can a manifestation come through if you don’t allow it? You may think you’re receptive, but are you really? There’s a high probability that you’re unconsciously blocking the very things you want. Just how receptive are you? Take my Receptivity Quiz to find out. Receptivity is also necessary for Step 4, Aligned Action, to happen. Aligned Action is rooted in intuition. Intuition is impossible without receptivity. Are you starting to see the importance of Allowing and how all of the steps are connected? (By the way, I use the terms allowing and receiving interchangeably.) Manifestation Blocks Let’s take a minute to explore the things that block manifestations before diving into the solutions. Personal baggage. This is the #1 manifestation block, bar none. Baggage is bondage, and it can include but is not limited to holding onto blame, judgment, resentment, and looking for occasions to be offended. This type of baggage keeps a person in the victim cycle where not much good can enter. This is where I lovingly coach my students to check themselves. We are evolutionary beings – works in progress – that require constant maintenance and lots of love. Micromanaging the manifestations. Control freaks beware! Manifesting is a collaboration with the laws of the Universe not an exercise of personal will and ego. Just as if you are planting a new wildflower garden, you don’t dig up the seeds every day to see how the plants are growing – disrupting their process – or stand over them yelling at them to hurry up. No, you prepare the soil, fertilize it, plant the seeds, water, and occasionally weed the area to allow space for the flowers to grow. Manifesting follows the same process! Impatience. The art of manifesting includes working with the many laws of the Universe, not just the law of attraction. When manifesting, it’s helpful to keep the law of gestation or divine timing in mind. Everything has a process and most of the moving parts are unseen. It takes patience and faith when it comes to manifesting. Let’s revisit the wildflowers. We plant the seeds in faith that flowers will be the end result. We don’t know for sure, but we know enough to proceed. That’s huge in manifesting and takes a degree of humility. And then we experience the unfoldment in due time! Unclear ask. You may have gone too general in your desire. Perhaps you want to manifest more money. How much more? Will a dollar do? To help the process along, get specific in your desires. They don’t have to be perfect so don’t sabotage yourself with paralysis. You can always pivot, go back to the drawing board and fill in the details as you experience contrast that redirects your desires. Flexibility is your friend in the manifesting process. The more you know, the more details you can include in your ask to make them more specific. But at the same time, don’t pigeonhole yourself. Here’s how. Let’s take the more money example and tweak it: I am so grateful now that I receive a monthly income of $10,000 or more! It’s specific and there’s room to be gifted with more. There’s no room. This is when we leverage what I call the vacuum law. The Universe abhors a vacuum and will always fill it. But if it’s already full, there is no room for the manifestation to land. It’s as if you don’t really believe that it will manifest, so you hold on to what you’ve got. This is a double block! The simple solution to this is to make room for the things you want. Make room for the new lover. Clear out your old clothes to make room for your new ones. Create the vacuum so the Universe can fill it up. It wants to. Otherwise, you’ll get passed over just because you don’t have the capacity. Limiting beliefs. The lack of faith will stop you in your tracks. You probably won’t even get the plane off the ground without an initial belief that you can. This one is tricky because many of these limiting beliefs stem from childhood, which means they have a long history and deep neuropathways carved in the brain. All is not lost, though! With self-awareness, curiosity, and practice, we can unravel the stories that bind us and repave our processors. We are adaptable like that. With loving kindness and patience, we can heal the past and clean up our wounds. As we feel better, we believe better. Self-care is mandatory for manifesting. Stuck on WHOs and HOWs. When you attach yourself to a certain WHO or HOW you’re literally stepping on the toes of the Universe and blocking your manifestations. Mike Dooley so brilliantly reminds us, “The HOWs are the domain of the Universe.” Your job in manifesting is to state the WHAT. For example, you want to get married in 2022. Currently, you’re not in a relationship, but you’re set on marrying your crush. You become a bit obsessed and focus on calling in the crush – and that’s perfectly fine and your choice! But what if there is someone more suitable for you that you don’t know yet? What if you simply focused on your WHAT and WHY? For example, I want to be married in 2022 to my ideal partner who appreciates self-growth, adventure, and fun as much as I do so I can play more, love and be loved, and continue this journey always exploring and growing together. That opens the space for unlimited opportunity and reveling in the mysterious domain of the Universe. How to Allow Manifestation There is an art to allowing. It begins with getting out of one’s way and being in a receptive mode more than not. There are many ways to activate your receptivity, but for this conversation, I’m going to limit it to the easiest, most effective way to flip your receptivity on and that is to practice GRATITUDE. Being in a state of gratitude is to be in a constant state of receptivity. Try to be worried and grateful at the same time. You can’t. Activating a sense of gratitude is the best medicine to shift your energy and start allowing the good stuff to flow. Gratitude Journal Exercise For your homework today, complete this sentence: I’m so grateful for these people, places, circumstances, and physical things in my life now! As you are making your list, you are remembering or imagining the pleasure and joy these things bring to your life. And as you do that, you are in a receptive place calling in more things to be grateful for.
