Framed: Defeating Thoughts
In this message from the “Winning the War in Your Mind” series, we’re reminded that the biggest battles we face happen in our thoughts. Drawing from 2 Corinthians 10:3–5, this sermon challenges us to take every thought captive and reframe the way we see our circumstances. We explore how cognitive bias shapes our thinking, why negative thought patterns can control our lives, and how to develop a “thought filter” rooted in truth. Through powerful stories and biblical insight, we learn that while we can’t control what happens to us, we can control how we frame it.Real transformation comes when we replace lies with God’s truth—found in His Word—and walk in the victory we already have in Jesus.

The Big Invite
God has strategically placed people in your life - your Oikos - who are watching your faith journey and waiting for an authentic invitation to experience Jesus. The Bible shows us that the gospel spreads most effectively through trusted relationships, not strangers. Andrew reached his brother Peter, Philip found Nathanael, and each person shared Christ within their existing sphere of influence. Your dining table can be as powerful as any church building for creating authentic conversations about faith. You don't need to convert anyone - your job is to extend invitations and build relationships while the Holy Spirit does the transforming work.

Building Bridges
God has strategically placed 8-15 people in your relational world that He wants to reach through you. The story of Zacchaeus shows us that Jesus prioritized building bridges over making cases. Instead of condemning the despised tax collector, Jesus invited himself to Zacchaeus's home, demonstrating that relationship must come before repentance. When we genuinely care for people and enter their world through hospitality and common ground, we create opportunities for transformation. People are rarely argued into heaven - they're loved into it. This week, consider extending hospitality to one person God has placed in your life, remembering that your role is to be a bridge that connects others to Jesus.

Who's On Your Front Row
God has strategically placed 8 to 15 people in your relational world - your oikos or household - who are watching your life and asking spiritual questions. These individuals are uniquely positioned for you to reach with the gospel. The early church grew rapidly through this simple principle, as seen in Acts 16 with the Philippian jailer whose entire household came to faith. You are more equipped to reach these specific people than anyone else because of your existing relationships with them. The key steps are developing spiritual awareness to see them, making a list of pre-Christians, prodigals, purposefuls, and potentials in your life, and praying for them daily. This relational approach to evangelism is how God designed the church to grow.

Whose Church is it?
The early church experienced explosive growth not through programs or buildings, but through relationships. The Greek word 'oikos' describes your extended relational network - the 8-15 people who have front-row seats to your life. These family members, neighbors, coworkers, and close friends are watching to see if your faith makes a real difference. Jesus intended His church to be launch pads for believers to go on mission, not comfortable landing pads. You don't need special gifts to reach others; you simply need to live authentically in front of those God has positioned in your life. Your mission field isn't on the other side of the world - it's the people already watching you every day.
