Its patented technology is designed to seal and stabilize the highly sensitive Nitroglycerin pills against degradation from light, oxygen, and moisture for at least six months, ensuring the medication remains potent and effective when it matters most. Clinically validated and peer-reviewed in publications like the Canadian Medical Association Journal, the smheartcard’s core purpose is convenience and immediate access. Join me in the next episode as I discuss with Dr. Jeff Mapp how Extra Mile Pediatrics is transforming lives through sustainable care. We'll dive into their unique model of revisiting children in underserved communities every six months. A story of dedication, hope, and a promise kept. Extra Mile Pediatrics is an NGO dedicated to providing repeated, quality pediatric healthcare to children in underserved communities in Guatemala and El Salvador. Their innovative approach to care focuses on sustainability and a holistic understanding of health. Instead of one-time medical missions, they build long-term relationships with the same communities, families, and local leaders. By returning every six months, they are able to track a child's growth and development over time, which is critical for identifying and treating foundational health issues. Their holistic model goes beyond the clinic by addressing critical factors like access to clean water, providing health and wellness education, and offering specialized services such as telehealth speech therapy. This commitment ensures that the positive health changes they create are not just temporary fixes, but a lasting foundation for a healthier future.Learn more about Extra Mile Pediatrics:• https://www.extramilepediatrics.com/• Social Media:https://www.facebook.com/extramilepediatricshttps://www.instagram.com/extramilepediatrics/• Follow me on social media:https://beacons.ai/medpathhos

The international medical student series: Stories from a 2nd year medical student in the Caribbean
Caribbean medical schools have gained a lot of popularity during recent years and have become increasingly attractive, and an alternative pathway of studying medicine in English abroad. These universities usually model their medical programs after American medical schools and allow their students the opportunity to practice medicine in the U.S upon graduation. In this conversation I’ll be speaking to Neisha, a 2nd year medical student at the American University of Antigua, located on the island of Antigua in the Caribbean. She’ll be sharing her story of what life is like, being an international medical student in the Caribbean and how she shares her medical journey with others.
