Confidence is a game changer! It can change and empower. The kind of confidence we are talking about here is a by-product of our faith. It affects our attitudes and actions.

Ever feel like something is never done? There is nothing more disheartening than feeling this way in your spiritual life, of never feeling like you have done enough or are good enough for God to accept you.   The good news (the Gospel) is that Jesus has done it all (paid it all), and what He asks of you is to make the decision to receive this free gift by faith, which involves believing, trusting, submitting and relying on Him.  

The book of Hebrews begins to double down on how Jesus is the fulfilment of the Law of Moses, and how all those symbols pointed to the work that He would do on our behalf to purify even our consciences and provide eternal salvation.

Hebrews 7 gives insight into how Jesus is our great and eternal High Priest who can save us completely--to the uttermost!

We are living in troubled times and in the middle of a mixed up world! We tend to focus on what is wrong which gives us a distorted picture of life. Many people live their lives never considering the Good News God has given to us.

The focus now shifts to the hope we have in Christ. Biblical Hope is not just wishful thinking. It is a joyful anticipation based on our faith in Christ of the fulfillment of all God’s promises. It is what holds us steady during the storms of life.

It is absolutely necessary that we all take our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ seriously. It should be the number one relationship in your life. If you are not growing, you are probably losing ground in your walk with Christ. If you are not progressing, then you are regressing.

Jesus is our great High Priest. He can save your soul and transform your life, and also at the same time sympathize with all your struggles. He knows! He gets it! He can give you exactly what you need to make it through and overcome.

In challenging us to “consider Jesus,” (3:1) he uses Israel's own history and the analogy of “rest” to challenge us all to not only consider Jesus but to “enter in” to His rest. That is, put your faith totally in Him.

Think about how important Jesus is...Who He actually is...what He has done for you and what He offers you. He not only came and paid your sin-debt to give you forgiveness and freedom, but He also offers your soul something incredible that you can only receive by faith (totally trusting) in Him—eternal rest!

The Gospel is greater than the OT Law or anything else because... Jesus is the only king who died to redeem us He is the only Savior who suffered to perfect this life on our behalf He is the Lord who is not ashamed to identify with us in order to save us He is the only High Priest who can help us

Chapter one of Hebrews shows us that Jesus is superior because of who He is, but chapter two shows us He is also superior because of what He did. The Gospel is greater!!!

The writer of Hebrews wants us to know that there is no other name more excellent or higher than the name of Jesus. Jesus didn’t just come merely to tell us about God or just point the way to God. He came to show us God in the flesh and do for us what we could not do for ourselves—save our souls.

It is obvious that God has dealt with us humans in different ways through different periods of time in history. In fact there has been a progressive revelation of God and His plan, but it all culminates in Christ. He is the Final Word. His Name is the Name above all names. You can put all your trust in Him.

This is the story that started before time began. It is the story above all stories!

Most of us are dealing with a lot of stuff this Christmas. But what we really need is to focus on His presence (not presents!). May we learn how to experience the peace that passes all understanding. Joy and peace go together (with love).

As we move into the Christmas season, we need to focus one of the keys to experiencing God’s joy and peace even during the ups and downs of our lives: our thoughts. We tend to focus our thoughts on how we feel. But with God’s presence dwelling in us and His Word to guide us, we learn that His plan is to focus our thoughts on His truth which will direct feelings and behaviors. The result is joy and peace even in the midst of stress and struggles.

Think of how crazy and mixed-up the world we live in is. Most of us are pretty sure that we are living in the last days. But, in 1 Timothy 3:1-2, Paul says a couple of the main characteristics of the the last times are that people will be lovers of self and lovers of money.  How do we deal with our built-in greed and selfishness? The answer is found in our walk of faith in Christ and the contentment only He can give.

Pastor Seth takes us to Deuteronomy chapter 6 (D6) and pulls out God's timeless principles for parenting.

Paul identifies an amazing source that results in thanksgiving flowing out of us unto God. We realize that we only have something to give others because He first gave to us. We realize that we really don’t deserve anything at all. Everything we have comes out of God’s grace. This realization produces praise and thanksgiving to God and generosity in our hearts.

What does it mean to have faith? Why is it so vital?

What does the Bible teach about the human condition? Who are we, why are we here? Why do we need salvation and what does that mean?

What does the Bible teach about the Triune nature of God? What do we believe? What have the overwhelming majority of Christians throughout history believed? 

What we believe about the Deity of Christ.

What do we believe about God? It must come from the pages of Scripture! It's good to know that what we believe is not only Scriptural but also connects with what God's people have always believed as evidenced in the Nicene Creed from AD 325.
