When a Marriage No Longer Fits
When a marriage no longer fits, it might not be weird. It might even make sense. This episode was originally recorded in late 2021, a few months before my divorce date. I found myself feeling vulnerable and afraid, alongside the contrasting awareness that this was the right move. From the Episode When the walls of that container became smaller and smaller, I was quite ready to free myself. And then as I got closer, and even now that the divorce is just a few months around the corner, it's getting louder in here like… Oh no, where's my security? I mean, it's what we want. It's what we say we want. We need the other to be okay in life. We need a man to be fulfilled or happy or taken care of. All of the things that go into that. For a man, I don't know what it is for him because I'm not a man. So I'm speaking from woman-of-a-certain age point of view. And you know, now this time in life. What once made sense may not make the same sense now. People change. After a couple of decades raising children, and striving for the things we're supposed to strive for, it’s not surprising that two people might find they no longer share the same connection or direction. The expectation that a relationship should remain unchanged for a lifetime begins to feel unrealistic.

Rethinking Purpose – Is it Enough to Just Be?
In this episode, Rethinking Purpose, I briefly explore what gives us our sense of purpose, and the motivation behind it. Purpose is often tied to what we're doing in life, or what we're giving in life, basically anything that we're engaged in that makes us feel like we have purpose. When I recorded this, I was thinking back to a time when I was doing work that I really loved doing. And I wondered if this podcast is, in part, me looking for joyous purpose again. Purpose and Life Shifts Significant life transitions often have the effect of stripping away an established identity that gave you a sense of purpose - and focus. Then, when a relationship or role ends, or our health fails, we often flounder for a while. Who and what am I now? I invite you to look into your life. How do you feel about yourself related to this idea of purpose? Is it enough to just be you?

Introducing Money and Life Shifts
Life shifts first. Money shifts with it. Identity shifts alongside both. This podcast is about what happens when the structures that once defined our lives begin to unravel. Money, identity, belonging, and meaning all have to be renegotiated. Part reflection, part inquiry, these episodes invite you to revisit our assumptions about money, relationships, and the cultural scripts that shape us. This is ultimately about freedom and stewardship. Freedom to choose yourself Freedom to take care of what matters Freedom to create a life that feels like yours. If this speaks to where you are, I invite you to follow or subscribe to Money and Life Shifts. Money and Life Shifts Intro - transcription Hi there, this is Raven. Welcome to the Money and Life Shifts podcast. This podcast is for women navigating those moments when life changes in ways we did not expect. For example, when a long-term relationship ends, a beloved career crumbles, or something in us simply wakes up and realizes that the life we built no longer fits. In this podcast, we'll explore the stories many of us were given about money, success, and who we're supposed to be and what happens when those stories start to fall apart. In my view, as disruptive as these kind of life events are, this is ultimately about freedom and stewardship. Freedom to choose yourself, take care of what matters, and freedom to create a life that feels like yours. If this speaks to where you are, I invite you to follow the podcast, Money and Life Shifts. Again, this is Raven.
