This is the last episode of our employability mini-series. The idea of working in construction didn’t really appeal to her but she was encouraged to attend a focus group by an officer. During the session, Siyanda discovered the wealth of roles offered by Kier and reached out to them when she moved to open prison which led to her securing employment with them.She is now their 'senior D&I project coordinator' and says attending that focus group was the best thing she ever did. Around 13% of prisoners were released to homelessness last year. Having no fixed address can make it really tough to open or maintain any kind of banking provision. Having no kind of banking provision can make it more difficult to receive benefits, wages or to pay for goods or services. The 18th - 24th November is 'Safer Gambling Week' - A cross-industry initiative to promote safer gambling in the UK & Ireland Gambling can have a huge effect on your finances as our guest Ben found out first hand. Ben's gambling started small before spiralling out of control and eventually culminated in a prison sentence after stealing from his employer to fund his addiction. Ben now supports people who are suffering with similar issues.
