Many of the racers who have been on the podcast took home trophies and some with championships. Overall, this year was a test for many, with major crashes mid year for a few and bikes not working how they should. Excitement from PRs and close races were captured on YouTube with 951 Live. Thank you so much for listening to season 2 of Monki Moto Pod! It was more than I could hope for and it persists into year 3! When I was a kid, I idolized Smokey the Bear. A large brown bear with a marketing purpose. The United States Parks service used the image of the brown bear to educate the public on wildfire prevention. Each 4th of July, I'd see Smokey (probably a dude in a suit) walking and waving to kids, accompanied by two wheeled machines, fire engines, and police vehicles. I came from a very small town, so this was exciting to me at the time.Now I find myself at a point in my life where I can walk in my own parade and I choose yet again to continue documenting stories as told by the moto community. Supermoto Championship Round 2 2026The Supermoto Championship Round 2 of the 2026 race season took place at Kern Raceway on March 28th, 2026. The weather was perfect, high 70s and mid-low 80s. Golden State Championship round 2 took place at Apex Motorsports Park in Perris CA on March 14 and 15.  This series aims to support racers by providing pro-level experiences around the state. Mark and I had one hectic week. Between business ownership and day jobs, plus our plumbing needed a major repair we didn't feel ready to race at Golden State Championship. Racing was part of the weekend plan, so I looked elsewhere for the challenge we were hoping for and signed up for SRA GP at Glen Helen Raceway.Big hill surprises, baby bird omelets, and finding our limits were some of the great highlights of the weekend. Hi All,I did my best to report on actual news (yey?). Although I did my best, I wasn’t able to convince Mr Flyer, Dachner’s attorney, to join the podcast conversation. I spoke with Michael Gougis, fellow journalist and motorcycle rider (racer & test rider) to talk the basics about lawsuits and similar cases. I then spoke with Mr Assanti to find out details behind his claims from the Roadracing World Article and the reality they face with this trial. Finally, I spoke with a third party attorney, Scott Adrian, to talk about leftover questions and discuss some of the things from the plaintiff’s claims.I am not choosing a side, but I represent motorcycle enthusiasts when I say:  we shouldn’t be suing one another for track incidents that are bound to happen. It sucks, actually quite a bit, since Dachner had a medical injury. But it also sucks to have bad sportsmanship. I’m hoping this continues the conversation towards a future we can all enjoy to the capacity that we are able.Should racers be separated from regular track days or grouped separately from hobby riders? Should we advocate for riders insurance on track? Last year, I found out that my home state, Alaska, has its own road racing series - on a local airstrip that was built in 1943. Known as Tanacross Track, this special race series was made possible in 1987 by the Carter Family and Glen Gillette. When summer rolls around, you can probably find my guest, Lucas Cantarelli, out at sea, searching for blue-fin tuna. It's one of the ocean's most challenging fish to spear, which is why Lucas likes to hunt them so much. He grew up fishing with his dad, both in the USA and Brazil. This is the second time I've been ran into at a track in SoCal. This time I was rear ended in the bowl (T9) at Streets of Willow. Could have been much worse!Here's an update: I'm ok, nothing broken. Bike needs some minor parts. Hospital bill to deal with and some feelings about how my track weekend ended early. While I was crashing, I felt disappointed. I don't know if I'll get to ride this track again. It's quite important to me since it is the first track I ever rode back in 2021. Lots of great memories here! An iconic exit to my days at Streets. Chuckwalla Valley Motorcycle Association's 2025 Race Series second round (CVMA R2) took place at Chuckwalla Raceway on Nov 1 and 2, running counter clockwise and was preceded by Friday practice, which was staffed and run by Apex Assasins.This round, Moto America pros joined after their season completed, some theatrical races, podium finishes, and a few helicopter exits.There were 15 races on Saturday and 18 races on Sunday. At the time of this recording all positions are provisional, but they should update to final in a few days. About two years ago, I got a RMZ250 for dirt riding. I raced it at Glen Helen and learned what a bummer it is to race and have to kick start a bike. So I did what every silly person would do: converted it to a supermoto.I was curious to race, maybe hooligan or supermoto. So when I finally had a weekend available and saw Supermoto Championship in Bakersfield had an event, I signed up immediately! I was unprepared and a bit scared, but I found some very important lessons and made great memories with amazing people.Bronson Pearce started his event because he wanted to create a premier event in his home town, Bakersfield, for people to race supermoto. It is part of an event with many shows included and thousands of fans gather each round to watch the races and cheer on.
