"Thanks to the Father for His work of Salvation" 1 Peter 1:3-5

Text: 1 Peter 1:3–5  Introduction Peter opens his letter with praise to God for His great salvation. Even in suffering, believers can rejoice because God’s mercy has given us new life, a living hope, and a secure inheritance. I. The Source of Our Salvation (v. 3a) According to His abundant mercy, God has given us new birth. Salvation begins with God, not us. The new birth (John 3:3) means being made spiritually alive through His mercy. II. The Certainty of Our Hope (v. 3b) We are born again to a living hope through Christ’s resurrection. Our hope is living because it rests in a living Savior. Earthly hopes fade; this one endures forever. III. The Security of Our Inheritance (vv. 4–5) Our inheritance is:   – Incorruptible (cannot decay).   – Undefiled (unstained by sin).   – Unfading (never loses its glory). It is reserved in heaven and kept by God’s power through faith. IV. The Celebration of Salvation Peter’s message is more than doctrine—it is praise. Salvation is planned by the Father, purchased by the Son, and preserved by the Spirit. We can rejoice even in trials because our salvation is secure.   Conclusion Our salvation rests in God’s mercy, our hope in Christ’s resurrection, and our inheritance in God’s power. Let us live in praise and gratitude for His saving work.

The Unchanging God in a Changing World

The Unchanging God in a Changing World Introduction In a world of constant change, Jesus Christ remains our unchanging anchor (Hebrews 13:8). Main Points God’s Love Never Fades His grace and strength are always present. • His faithfulness works in every circumstance. • His concern for justice is unchanging. A Solid Foundation Build on the rock of Christ (Matthew 7). • Shifting sands of culture/opinion will not stand. God Works All Things for Good Romans 8:28—God redeems pain into blessing. • The cross turned the greatest evil into the greatest good. The Best Is Yet to Come Jeremiah 29:11—God’s plan is filled with peace and hope. • For believers, the best is always ahead. Living With Unshakable Peace God’s peace is unshakable. • Equips us to do good, pursue justice, and live with hope. Conclusion Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His love, foundation, purpose, promise, and peace never change.

    "Protecting our Relationship with God"

Text: 1 John 5:18–21 Introduction - Relationships need protection—especially our relationship with God. - John shows us how: know who we are, abide in Jesus, and avoid idols. 1. Know Who We Are—and Who Our Enemy Is (vv. 18–19) - Born of God → No longer bound by sin • Not sinless perfection, but no habitual, unbroken pattern of sin. - Kept by Jesus → Protected from Satan • Christ keeps us; the devil cannot cling to us. - Set apart from the world • We belong to God, not under Satan’s control. 2. Abide in Jesus and Avoid Idols (vv. 20–21) - Know Him who is true • Knowledge of Jesus is experiential (ginosko). - Jesus is the true God and eternal life • Fully God and fully man—the source of real life. - Keep yourselves from idols • Idols can be obvious (statues) or subtle (career, money, self, relationships). • Idolatry always chokes fellowship with God. Conclusion Protect your relationship with God by: 1. Remembering who you are in Christ. 2. Resting in Jesus’ protection. 3. Knowing Him deeply. 4. Guarding against idols.

    "Help for the praying Christian"

1 John 5:13-17 Introduction Prayer is not ritual—it is confidence in God. John shows us two lessons: 1. Confidence in prayer 2. Praying for a sinning brother 1. Confidence in Prayer (vv. 14–15) • Confidence in Him – We know He hears us. • Ask Anything – Pray about everything (Philippians 4:6). • According to His Will – Prayer aligns us with God’s purposes. • Assurance – We can stand on His promises when we pray. 2. Praying for a Sinning Brother (vv. 16–17) • First Response – Pray, don’t gossip. • God’s Promise – He gives life in response to prayer. • Sin Leading to Death – Some sins may lead to God’s discipline (1 Corinthians 11:30). • Not Every Sin Unto Death – All sin is serious, but not all in the same way. Applications 1. Pray with confidence—God hears you. 2. Pray about everything—big or small. 3. Pray for others—especially when they fall. 4. Trust God’s wisdom in hard situations. Conclusion Prayer is our lifeline to God. It shows confidence, love, and faith. Let us be a praying people—standing on His promises and lifting one another up.
