Alleviating Poverty: “The Attitude of Poverty"
Dear Friends,Today, in our series on Alleviating Poverty, we’re exploring “The Attitude of Poverty.” Have you ever wondered how your attitude toward the poor can change lives? Amid the complexities of our world, how we see the “poor in spirit” can make an incredible difference. As I Care Outreach engages in the work of alleviating poverty—I believe there is a hidden invitation in a more meaningful way to understand poverty or even to seek to understand poverty. Poverty is a shared human experience. Each of us wrestle with a sense of lack or incompleteness and neediness. Poverty exists in those parts of ourselves that are not what they could be… places we cannot repair through our own well-meaning resources and strength. As I reflect on the instability within our communities. I am reminded that Christ-centered, practical life education, training, and service is a critical need to “tackle the shackles of poverty” while fostering spiritual connection, relationship building and community re-humanization.In Luke 18:9-14, Jesus speaks of being “poor in spirit.” He tells a story of a Pharisee and a tax collector. The parable illustrates the difference between those who think they are spiritually connected and the “poor in spirit.” Listen as I share some insights regarding alleviating poverty.Pastor Robert M. Alleviating Poverty, Part 2
Dear Friends,I Care Outreach, Moving Through PodcastNovember 2025: “Alleviating Poverty, Part 2”“They all ate and were satisfied.” (Mark 6:42)“In every crisis, the wisdom of God is on display.” We are continuing with our Fall “Moving Through Podcast” series on “Alleviating Poverty”. In today’s podcast I will tell a story about an opportunity, a real life story for all of us to see Jesus inviting people to alleviate poverty. We see Jesus solve this crisis and gave the disciples a life practice task to take away.I believe Jesus still places impossible tasks in front of us to see if we will bring the problem back to Him so His wisdom is put on display. I Care Outreach understands the importance that education and training are problem-solving significant components that work within the transformational process to add new practices of life for alleviating poverty.Listen to His story, Pastor Robert M. Dear Friends,I Care Outreach, Moving Through - Podcast #49December 2024: “Hope that Birth’s”“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel, which means ‘God with us.’” (Matthew 1:23)Rev. Dr. Kirk Byron Jones joins us today as we share and reflect further on our “Moving Through podcast” with insights on, “Hope That Birth’s.” When Jesus shows up, our hope and expectations go up!In a world that can often feel hopeless, the message of Christmas should remind us that God is still at work, bringing light into our darkness. Listen as Dr. Kirk shares about “Advent Hope”, the birthing of hope as it relates to being embedded in our practices of soul care and the guarding of our minds and hearts. Our need to say “Yes to GRACE” to hold onto the space of having regular devotional experiences with the Lord. UnCaptive Hope, Part 2
We began exploring and examining what it is like “to live “Uncaptive” to the things, places, people and circumstances that can hold us hostage from being anchored in Hope”. During our last conversation we shared what it means to have a Biblical approach to victory against strongholds that seek to take captive our “Hope” as we are moving through life. Today, Dominic Scerbo joins me on part two of this subject “UNCAPTIVE HOPE”. Dominic serves in our I Care Outreach Training Center as a Co-learner, Facilitator and Ally with participants, sharing his faith, work/career experiences, and journey of moving through life working through challenges and choices. Captivity can speak of one that has been “taken and held by a stronghold as if a prisoner of war.” To the extent that it can be involuntarily because you are in a situation that makes “free choice or departure” difficult. Listen as we share about how life challenges come before us and if we are not soberminded and prayerful, life situations and/or decisions can derail us from being truly anchored in Hope. The building of Hope and Spiritual Growth does take time. It is a lifelong journey! Remember to hold in your heart God’s Word, “He know the plans He has for us…to give us a hope and a future! (Jeremiah 29:11).

We have true victory in Jesus. He fought for us and is still fighting for us, but we are also invited into the battle to stand up, make choices, seek help, inviting Him into our battle so we can celebrate the win with Jesus together. Freedom of Hope
Dear Friends,We welcome you to join us in our 39th Podcast titled, “Freedom of Hope.” I am convinced that in our day-to-day journey, having focus, purposeful living, and intentionality involves standing firm with the power to live a life that is free and fully alive, not bound or restrained outside of our destiny and purpose. This kind of hope is manifested in our intentional living, intentional compassion, and intentional care. Having determination and confidence to “press on” in our lives, anchored in the Lord, with certainty and capacity despite the unseen. Freedom with resolve to open our spiritual eyes and heart in view of the “yet to come,” with expectancy and certainty, that God will do what He has said (Hebrews 11:1). Resolved in Hope
The Christmas season is upon us, and we are about to enter a New Year. This time of year is a special season of hope with expectation, as we reflect upon the Christmas story and the coming New Year. This 37th Podcast in titled, “Resolved in Hope.” Our hope must be grounded firmly in God. He provides the stimulus and motive to live as an authentic life-giver even in the face of difficulty, loss, and suffering, while bringing His gifts of peace and joy. Rev. Howard Thurman, an American author, philosopher, theologian and educator who lived from 1899 to 1981 says it best, “THE WORK OF CHRISTMAS BEGINS” and continues year-round. His writings on “The Work of Christmas” and “The Mood of Christmas expresses it very clearly in his poetry. As we are “Moving Through” the Christmas season is an invitation that calls us to be challenged and changed by what is at the center of the Christmas story: the work and life of Christ. His life matters! Merry Christmas and Happy 2024 YearPastor Robert M. Turner

Soul-filled Thanksgiving
Now as we are moving toward the end of November our podcast is titled: “Soul-filled Thanksgiving.” Thankfulness is a soulful motive for our Christian life and conduct. It should be our general attitude, our “frame of mind” toward both the blessings and trials of life, with having a vital component of a prayerful life and the right context, for the proper use of material things.Thankfulness expresses our attitude and heart towards God and others. We draw close to Him with gratitude, and it is a soul-filled signal of our true affection. As we are “Moving Through Life” it is essential to have a rhythm of ongoing spiritual times of embracing ourselves before God with a “Thankful Heart.” With our hearts right toward God, we find ourselves in a life practice that rests on our belief in God with careful petition and sincere thankfulness. And this kind of heart will pump and flow right into our soul. The word thankful implies action as a result. Once we become aware of the benefit received, we express it through our conduct, verbal affirmation, and actions. A Thankful Heart matters! In Him,Pastor Robert M. Turner

New Start, New Harvest
The bounty of the harvest is a blessing indeed. Fall is a season known for harvest and loss as it brings in a Fresh Start. There are things to be loosened and removed as we prepare ourselves for a fresh start in making a difference in our lives and in the lives of others. In our last podcast, we continued with the Summer 2023 overarching theme of “Soul Care” with the thought that we have been given “A New Season, Make a Difference.” Today’s Podcast we want to continue with this focus, titled: “New Start, New Harvest.” As we journey through the pathway of our lives, the life of faith can be characterized by a series of stages that will lead us progressively toward healthy spiritual living, and engaging others well. What really makes a difference in our lives is to know our identity in Christ and be willing to allow God to use us in this new season with a “Fresh Start and “Fresh Fuel” for His will and purpose in these times. We must “release and relinquish” those things that hinder us from stepping into “the new” that God is calling us to. This is done with our hands and our hearts open to be used by God as His vessels. Elder Dominic Scerbo from Calvary Church in Trumbull who serves as a volunteer Ally in our I CARE OUTREACH Training Center will join me in this conversation. Caring for His harvest matters! In Him,Pastor Robert M. Turner

A New Season, Make A Difference
Happy Autumn! Fall 2023 is here and it transitions us to make necessary changes to our everyday patterns of life. I’m learning more about how seasons bring transitions that can lead to transformation. Many of us would prefer the summer to keep going, but Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens”.We are extending our Moving Through Podcast series on the topic of “Soul Care.” Our 34th Podcast will hopefully inspire all of us as we have been given “A New Season, Make A Difference”. God has ordained a new season for us to not only care for our souls but for us to reach out to others with His love, care, and compassion. Joshua Turner, I Care Outreach volunteer, will join me in conversation regarding Soul Care and the difference in his life while impacting others’ lives. The caring of our souls should ignite our passion to strengthen others as they are moving through their journey. A soul generated by God’s love is enough to make a great difference in someone’s life. Caring for souls matters! In Him,Pastor Robert M. Turner

Caring for Wounded Souls
The summer is almost ending, and we are completing our series on “Soul Care.” Together we examined the impact of Soul Care for our everyday life practices as it relates to our relationship with God, ourselves, and others. In this 33rd podcast, we are focusing on “Caring for Wounded Souls”. Many souls are wounded. Walking wounded. Living wounded. Working wounded. Worshiping wounded. And reading God’s word wounded. Many people in our families and community are experiencing trauma-generated strongholds asking, “How to move through their life?”The Lord wants you and I to live, with our mind and heart, centered on Him and His will, with our souls fully connected with His Spirit, to live as true followers of the way Jesus Christ demonstrated and taught. Again, with me is Joe Murray from Recover All Ministry who will also share perspectives on how “Caring for Wounded Souls” relates to our “Identity and Destiny” Summer “Workshop. I Care Outreach is so grateful for this God-given opportunity!Carrying for our soul matters! In His Care,Pastor Robert M. Turner

Soul Care and Life Tensions
July summer heat is here, and we are continuing our summer podcast focus of “Soul Care.”We have been examining the impact of Soul Care for our everyday life practices as it relates to our relationship with God, ourselves, and others. In this podcast we are focusing on “Soul Care and Life Tensions”.We are all experiencing the rise of tensions, anxieties, outbursts, and troubles of all kinds. The English Word “tension” comes from the Latin Word “to stretch”.Despite what’s going on we are called to “navigate in culture” with the tensions of “living in Christ’.Again, with me is Joe Murray from Recover All Ministry who will share how “Soul Care and Life Tensions” relates to our “Identity and Destiny.” I Care Outreach is currently hosting a six-week “Workshop on Identity and Destiny.’ The workshop has begun, and we have 23 attendees!

Summer is here and it brings a new Season to refresh and move through in our spiritual journey of moving through life with Soul Care.In our last episode, we began to examine the impact of Soul Care on our everyday life and day-to-day practices. In this third podcast on Soul Care, we want to examine the impact of the call of being a life-giving image bearer, living, centered, empowered, led by the Spirit of God in Christ.Becoming more like Christ is a steady progression of growth over a lifetime, a continual freedom of transformation of our souls. It does not happen in one great transformation. Also, we interviewed Joe Murray from Recover All Ministry who shares about his ministry’s upcoming six-week Wednesday evening Workshop on Identity and Destiny which will be held July 19th through August 26th in our I Care Outreach Training Center. We invite you to attend. Registration info is posted on our website at www.icareoutreach.net

SOUL CARE: Impacts Our Life Practices
The warmth of a new Season has already begun! The freshness of Summer brings excitement, anticipation, new opportunities and expectations for ourselves and others. In our last episode on “Soul Care”, we shared it is time to reset, refresh, and remain focused on the essentials. That is, to be on guard for the well-being of our hearts and souls so we can help ourselves and others live well. In this second part, we are examining the impact of Soul Care on our everyday life, our day-to-day practices. This spiritual journey that Christ has called us to is “to be present with Him” in our moving through. We all need true healthy spiritual and emotional capital in our moving through with God to serve others. I Care Outreach is filled with joy knowing that the Lord desires for us to really care and have compassion for others. Thus our soul care really matters! In His Care,Pastor Robert M. Turner

Moving With Soul Care
The freshness of Spring 2023 gives us the opportunity to reset and refresh the well-being of our souls! As we celebrate the Resurrection of Christ it inaugurates a type of “start-over,”—it marks the beginning of a new order of life! “Out of the heart flows the Springs of life.” Soul care is so important because out of the heart comes the good noble things of life in Christ Jesus. We must be on guard for the well-being of our hearts and souls so we can help others live well. I Care Outreach is filled with joy knowing that the Lord desires to heal and restore souls with His love, compassion, and care. It is His Compassion that directs us, and His Care that motivates us to actively consider the well-being of others! In His Care,Pastor Robert M. Turner
