Powerful Truths About Postpartum Depression and Anxiety

There are many ways I could begin talking about postpartum depression and anxiety - however, I think the most valuable place to start is with this truth: It is time to normalize a mother's struggles post-birth, during that sacred 4th trimester when everything in her life has been turned upside down. If you have ever walked through PPD or PPA in any capacity, I offer you so much love and understanding - from one mother to another. May you be blessed by this episode.JOIN OUR EMAIL COMMUNITY (w/weekly or bi-weekly notesn directly from me!)FREE MOTHERHOOD GUIDEPOSTPARTUM E-BOOK

I have heard this exact phrase on a few podcasts I listen to. I agree with the over arching idea of it, however, we are going to break down why I disagree when it comes to walking out the Christian life. Our confidence in motherhood comes from knowing that God is in the midst of every season. He is WITH us through the ups, downs, joys and sorrows. Getting tasks done in postpartum (all the practical tips)!

Friends, a few weeks back I asked a question on IG about what part of postpartum is most difficult? The responses were very similar and that's why I wanted to dedicate a podcast episode to sharing all the practical tips on how to accomplish tasks during those few few months to honestly, that first year of your baby's life. I am a firm believer that we can be both present with our children while also getting things accomplished around our home. Baby Sleep (sharing my experiences between my three boys)

Friends, I prayed and asked God for a great sleeper with my third baby. My first two boys were difficult and I stumbled through the process of helping them sleep well. Our third son has been the easiest, by far,  (including the 4 month sleep regression) but it hasn't come by some type of magic formula. And from one mom to another, I'm here just sharing my experiences and I pray that it helps you with your baby also! My greatest encouraging resource for you: Taking Cara Babies

You are not the hero of your motherhood journey.

Friend, I have tried so many times to do it all - to prove myself to...myself. I thought that if I figured everything out on my own that it would somehow provide me the value I was seeking. I thought that if I kept it all together that everything would be okay. What I didn't see was that even when everything wasn't okay that my worth was unshakeable in Christ. What I didn't see was that life was still so beautiful and good even when I messed up as a mom.The hard truth about motherhood is that we are not the hero. We are not the one that we should be boasting in at the end of every day. We will never have enough patience or strength on our own efforts. We will never have all the answers to challenges we face with our children. We will never have the capacity to fulfill every single need around us.I pray this messages blesses you deeply,~Hope
