How to Use Blurt Media Part 1
BlurtMedia is a audio/video sharing platform that has blurred the lines between web2, web 2.5 and web3 into one cohesive platform. Users can interact with the content creators and other users across the different platforms. You can log in with Blurt, Dero, Fediverse, Hive or Nostr and comment on any video. The comments are cross platform so a Blurt user can have their comment seen and responded to by someone on Nostr and vice versa. The votes on the comments are not cross platform though, AFAIK. For the content consumer: Viewing/listening to content Discover page Trending page Recently added page Commenting Subscribing to content. Using the Fediverse (ActivityPub) Using good old RSS (including podcasting 2.0) Using a web3 platform (Blurt, Hive, Nostr) Downloading content. Yes you can download the videos! Regular audio/video BitTorrent and magnet links Playlists Creating playlists Sharing playlists For the content creator: Your Peertube account Settings Notifications Import/Export Applications Moderation My Videos page My Subscriptions page My History In part 2 I will go over some things extra things about BLurt Media and throw out a lot of little tips for creators who want to post audio/video media on Blurt.

bm-live-strategy
Live streaming on BlurtMedia: Decide on a regular schedule that is realistic for you to keep too. Once or twice a week, day or month at a specific time. Set up a recurring live on Blurt.Media Put those keys into OBS Studio and save it. They wont change. Also while in OBS Studio set it up to automatically start recording when you hit the start streaming button. I will go over setting up OBS Studio in a different video. Pimp out your scheduled date and time with the link to where your stream will be. Try to do this at least a week in advance. Doing it this way net you more rewards in the long run. You can also use this to hone into specifically what your audience wants to see through the comments on those posts. It will also allow your audience more time to make themselves available for the stream. Do your best to not be late to your own stream or reschedule. People like punctuality and regularity. When you do go live dont just tear into the content immediately. Wait and make small talk for about 10-15 minutes to allow people to show up. Play some music, etc. Have a banner or something saying "stream is starting soon" or something similar. This way when people hop on they know you arent just being stupid and wasting time. Dont forget to talk. Even when nobody is watching. In fact dont even look at the number of viewers. Just dont do it. Pretend their is people there if you have to. Just do a fun and entertaining live stream. HAPPY BLURTING!

Blurt Media Live Streaming is Fixed with Some Minor Restrictions!
And how to use the new restrictions to your advantage! @kencode has fixed the issue with the live streaming on Blurt.Media but there are some restrictions in place. These are so that they can be sure that the hardware can handle the live streaming without a bunch of upgrades. I'm guessing that as more and more of us do those live streams they will be forced to upgrade. I would personally love to see that. Lol. The Restrictions Site wide there can only be 6 current running live streams at once. There can only be 3 simultaneous live streams per user. The maximum time a live stream can last is 5 hours. If you still cant live stream since this fix was announced on 2025-04-23 then check in your admin screen to make sure you do not have any live streams that are waiting to go live. If you do delete them until you get down below the 3 allowed. Take advantage of these restrictions! Instead of creating a new live stream every time create a recurring live stream. This will allow you to: Pimp out your stream to your audience over many days or weeks. Your audience will always know the link to tune in and watch/listen to you. I know this has a couple of perceived disadvantages and although I didnt talk about those in this video I will on the one tomorrow. Those two perceived disadvantages are actually very big advantages to both you and Blurt. But I will quickly touch on them here. A recurring live stream does not get votes every time you go live. It's a one and done thing. But you will make up for it in all your announcement posts about the next time you go live. ie It's Monday and your live doesnt start until Friday night. How many post can you write about it over those 5 days? How much more audience interaction will get? Allow you to hone in on exactly what they want from you? You will need to record your stream locally on your computer. OBS Studio is completely capable of doing this. Stream and record at the same time. You can then upload that recording later and get votes on it as usual. Like I said I will go over that part tomorrow with a lot more nuance. Btw, welcome to my new Blurt.Media channel. OpenSourceStudio. Can you guess what I will be talking about on it? Happy Blurting!
