Pondering on the Porch

Hello! Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Let's dive back into James together and head the warning of the power of our words.

Hey hey hey, we're back today! Digging into James chapter two with my good buddy Britt Basket tonight. Britt is a dad, father, veteran and working in IT at a Christian radio station headquarters. James 2 digs deep into getting our faith into action and challenges us to have more than just belief but convictions.

2 years! Can't believe I it took that long to get back on the wagon, but here we go! Joined tonight by one of my good buddies to dig into James chapter 1.

Bringing Proverbs to a close, we learn some motherly advice, and what to look for in a wife.

Let's dig into Proverbs 27 on the back porch.

It's beginning to move towards fall, but still a little warm on the Porch. And Solomon's warning against the fool and his ways is just as hot.

The company we keep, team we build and weeds we let in our heart have real consequences.

God reminds us today that we need to be active and working. Blessings will follow for the diligent, and weeds will take over for the lazy.

Stop it! Let's dig in to Solomon's warning against materialism and pleasure. The bottle will only leave you washed up.

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Looking a little deeper into some of the promises of the Proverbs. Solomon instructs us to be careful with going in debt, and the company we keep.

Burnt offerings or humble obedience? God desires a heart after him and his ways. Solomon didn't tip toe around a nagging woman...

Get up and work! Work hard, play hard.... or maybe not? The writer of Proverbs shares that hard work, integrity and consistency pay off for generations to come. But also there is warning against laziness and over indulgence.

Gooood Evening! A couple snafu's, but then we get down to Proverbs 19. Solomon is real frank about our heart and integrity over the outside of a man. It is better to be a poor man with integrity... and real friends.

Getting into chapter 18 tonight we continue to learn about the way of the fool verses the wise. It is better to have counsel, then to life alone for ourselves.
