Did you immediately receive them with open arms and a willingness to effortlessly forgive? If the answer is no, you are not alone. Many of us have a challenging time with forgiveness, often carrying unforgiveness in our hearts. The difference is that God is waiting with a willingness to forgive and arms wide open, you just need to take the initiative. The enemy is repetitive targeting the same areas in as many ways as possible, getting you to fall to your temptation. Can you recall a time where you recognized the temptation in the moment and knew it was a trick of the enemy? We are human and far from perfect. It is about what we do when we recognize our doubt. We should ground ourselves in our Faith in our Lord. As you read this, is there a moment of significant doubt coming to mind? A time in which you truly did not see resolve or purpose? Did you ask God why? Well, take a moment now to ask Him “What?” What is it that He needed you to take away from that experience? What was it about those circumstances that could reveal to you a greater truth? Promise: Strength“And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” -2 Corinthians 12:9-10Prayer RequestIt can feel impossible to turn to Christ in thanksgiving when you are burying a loved one, fighting sickness or battling instability. Remember, Christ is not trying to invalidate our pain, but provide a pathway to healing. What are you holding onto that feels too big to heal even with the Lord? Why does it feel too great to reach? Is there something you know would improve your life if you just let it go? What is that? Share it with Christ and ask Him to strengthen you as you aim to pick up your cross and sacrifice your flesh. Glass half empty or half full. It is important for us to be well-informed when we are making decisions that will have any impact on us and others around us. Can you think of a time Christ pulled you out from the dark waters? Did you recognize Him at this time or understand what was happening? Or do you recall that time as a moment where you got yourself out of something? Promise: Redemption“But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.” -Genesis 50:20Prayer RequestPsalms 34:19 says, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all.” This scripture can normalize the challenges we go through and validate that they are painful things to experience while reminding that God has the final say. Can you take a moment to release your afflictions to the Father and allow Him the space to console you as His child? May it be anger, hurt, resentment, rejection etc. begin writing and do not pause until you have laid it all out at His feet. This means that it can be easy for us to fall into old cycles when we face moments of adversity. We, very easily, return to old behaviors, old friends, old relationships that simply do not bring the best self out of us. Can you ask God to reveal to you the cycle you are finding yourself repeating the most? Pray for guidance on breaking that cycle with His help. Yes, you may think He already knows it and well, He does. But that does not mean He does not want to hear it from you directly. When you are made aware of someone’s trial, it is always more descriptive when they tell you themselves versus through the grapevine. Have you allowed yourself space to grief those loses in gratitude towards God as He is making room in your life for more? Promise: Lifeline“…Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ…” -Philippians 1:6Prayer RequestTake some time to recall a moment where you fell the hardest, maybe you are currently feeling that way now. Whenever that time was, can you describe in detail the ways it has caused you agony? Like we do with our health care providers when they ask about our pain in detail to make an assessment and a plan for treatment. God is our healer, and yes, He knows it all, but we must invite Him into that pain and pray for understanding around our circumstances. This fall that you are recalling, ask God about the outcome. Invite Him to speak to you about the plan He has already written out for your life.
