Queer Camino Podcast

The Camino de Santiago is a network of pilgrimages leading to the shrine of the apostle James in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. Each year hundreds of thousands of people take part in a pilgrimage to Santiago for all sorts of reasons. While everyone is on their own Camino, the history and connections with the way has connected with Christianity may lead queer people to wonder if they would be accepted or welcomed along the way. This podcast explores queer people's experiences and reflections from their own time along the way with the hope it may inspire other queer folk to find their way to Santiago.

    Portugal or Bust

Welcome to the second season of The Queer Camino Podcast! This season Larry and his cousin Dillon co host the show from their time prior, during, and after completing Camino Portugues. In this first episode Larry and Dillon take turns asking the other questions about age, expectations, worries and what our family will think of this kooky podcast.

    8 Years of Anticipation

In a surprise twist, Larry switches chairs and is interviewed about his experience on the Camino in 2023. This is final episode of season 1 of The Queer Camino Podcast but also introduces to a new main character of season 2 - Dillon! Who just happens to be Larry's cousin. In this episode you'll hear about why Larry waited 8 years to do the camino, situationships on the Camino, and the unfortunate news chocolate croissants and wine are only a good 10-15% of the Camino experience.  Like what you hear? Subscribe so you don't miss out on Season 2 where Dillon and Larry will document their experience of two queer cousins walking from the Camino Portugues, coastal route, in April 2024.

Lupe Blames It On The YouTube Algorithm

Hello and welcome back to the Queer Camino Podcast. I am so happy to have the opportunity to collect the stories of queer camino pilgrims and share them with you. In today's episode I am chatting with my friend Lupe, who also completed the Camino Frances in the summer of 2023. Lupe is a delightful human whose story may resonate with many past, present, and future pilgrims. Listen along for stories about some of the joys of the trail, personal insights about grief from a queer Mexican American reality, and the power of doing something big by yourself.

Everyone Is On Their Own Camino

Welcome to the first Episode of the Queer Camino Podcast. In this episode we set the stage on how to have a gay old time along the Camino de Santiago. Our first guest, Robbie talks about his connections with Catholicism, stumbling into his first Pride celebration on the way, how he developed the catch phrase "everyone is on their own camino," and why he wants to recruit everyone to complete their own camino.
