    The Three Step Shuffle

Everybody knows this dance. Your neighbor does it. Your coworker does it. Your representative does it. It's been passed down for generations and America has never stopped doing it.Step one — I have a Black friend. What's their name? When's the last time you had dinner at their house? Or is this friendship based on sitting next to a Black guy at work ten years ago and laughing at his joke once? Because while you're posing for that photo, your "friend" is getting pulled over for driving in the wrong neighborhood. Getting followed in stores. Getting steered away from houses by realtors with redlined maps. Knowing one of us doesn't make you not racist any more than owning a plant makes you a farmer.Step two — I don't see color. Then you don't see me. You don't see four hundred years of history. You don't see the Black family getting evicted. The school getting defunded. The voter registration line stretching for miles while somebody else walks right in. You closed your eyes and called it progress. The world kept burning in full color while you looked away.Step three — I can't be racist. The grand finale. Racism isn't just the hood and the burning cross. It's the slow leak. The pipe dripping in the basement that nobody fixes until the whole foundation rots. It's the knee on the neck. The boy in the hoodie who never made it home. The church bombed on a Sunday morning. You see all of it. You're standing in it. But you fold your arms because you didn't personally light the match. Watching suffering and choosing comfort doesn't absolve you. It's just the third step in the dance. This episode also explores what it's like to BE the Black friend. The questions we always get. "You're so articulate." "Where are you REALLY from?" "Can I touch your hair?" And the history behind it — from the Tignon Laws of 1786 forcing Black women to cover their hair to the CROWN Act still being fought for today. The Three-Step Shuffle is comfortable. But comfort never changed anything. Discomfort did.Stop shuffling. Start listening. Every Accusation is a Confession

When someone accuses you of something out of nowhere, pay attention. Nine times out of ten, they're telling you what THEY did.Episode 8 of Quote the Smoke breaks down the psychological trick that built MAGA — projection. Accuse the other side of exactly what you're doing. Do it first. Do it loud. Do it so often that when the truth comes out, people are too exhausted to care. That's the playbook. And Smoke is about to rip every page out of it.Four projections. One episode. Receipts for days."Save the Children" meets 900 documented cases of Republican sex crimes against minors and Trump's flight logs on the Epstein jet. "Law and Order" meets 34 felony convictions and a cabinet that can't stay employed. "Election Integrity" meets fake electors and January 6th. "Family Values" meets three marriages, multiple affairs, and hush money to porn stars.Every accusation is a confession. The mirror doesn't lie. This is not a Democrat defense. The jellyfish doesn't get a pass either. But what MAGA has done — projecting their own sins onto the other side so effectively that millions of Americans believe the lie — is something different. And it's time to name it.Think for yourself. Now quote me on that.🔗 FOLLOW EVERYWHERE:YouTube: https://youtube.com/@quotethesmokeTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jamesspearitBluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/rabidsalvation.bsky.socialX/Twitter: https://x.com/QuoteTheSmokeDiscord: https://discord.gg/K34EztPNJ#QuoteTheSmoke #EveryAccusationIsAConfession #Projection #PoliticalPodcast #ThinkForYourself

    This the Line? Really?!

Trump called the first American-born pope weak on crime and terrible for foreign policy. Claimed he personally put Pope Leo in the Vatican. Posted an AI image of himself as Jesus — glowing hand, eagles in the sky, military forces in the clouds. Then said he thought it was him as a doctor. And the MAGA Christians who survived the war, the Medicaid cuts, the generals fired during combat, and 42 million Americans who didn't get food in November — some of them finally said enough. In this QTS Quickie we take the theological objection seriously. Comparing yourself to Christ is blasphemy. The religious community that pushed back is not wrong to push back. But we are asking the question nobody in that coalition is asking out loud — where was this energy when Pete Hegseth prayed for overwhelming violence with Crusader tattoos? When Matthew 25 people lost their healthcare? When the children went hungry? The AI Jesus post found a line. Medicaid didn't. The war didn't. Ask yourself why.The real blasphemy was never the picture. It was using the name of faith to justify everything the faith explicitly forbids.Think for yourself.

    What's Your Bible Really For

Paula White stood in the White House East Room on Easter and compared Donald Trump to the suffering and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In front of over a hundred faith leaders. The White House posted the video — then deleted it. The pastors in that room sat there and said nothing. This QTS Quickie is a direct word to the Christian left. Not the right — you already know where they stand. This is for the people with the Bible on the shelf, the progressive church signs on the lawn, the ones running Sunday morning concerts and motivational speeches while false prophets set up shop in the White House Faith Office. Paula White demanded entire January salaries as "first fruits" offerings. She declared a prophecy that Trump would win in 2020 — he didn't. She was never held accountable. She now leads the White House Faith Office. The receipts are in your own Bible. Deuteronomy 18:22 tells you exactly what a false prophet is. Hebrews 4:12 tells you exactly what the Word was given for. The sword. Not background music. A sword.Pope Leo XIV quoted Isaiah to power this Easter — "your hands are full of blood" — while the Pentagon threatened the Vatican and told them the Catholic Church better take America's side. He didn't flinch. He's spending July 4th on Lampedusa with refugees instead of at the White House. The church is emptying not because people stopped believing in God — but because they stopped believing the church believes what it says. Now is the time to use what you were given.

Selling You a Holy War....Don't Buy It

n America, we like to believe our elections belong to us. That paper says democracy. But paper doesn't run elections. Money does. And nobody is spending more money to buy American elections than AIPAC.Episode 6 of Quote the Smoke is the most heavily researched episode in the series. Every number is documented. Every charge is real. Every dollar is traceable. This is not opinion. This is the receipt.AIPAC spent over $100 million buying Congress in 2024. 349 senators and representatives — 65% — took the check. Both parties. They spent $20 million to remove two Black progressives for calling for a ceasefire. Benjamin Netanyahu has ICC arrest warrants for war crimes and faces three separate domestic corruption cases. He can't enter most of the Western world without being arrested. But Congress protects him. And Christian Zionism wraps the entire operation in scripture so millions of Americans cheer for war and call it God's will. Two billion dollars in tithes funneled to illegal settlements. Military commanders telling soldiers the war is biblical prophecy.Money buys the politicians. Politicians protect the war criminal. Scripture convinces you to cheer for it. Three gears. One machine. And it has been running for decades. This episode is not about Jewish people. The loudest voices against this machine are Jewish — Jewish Voice for Peace, Israeli human rights organizations, scholars and rabbis horrified by what is being done in their name. This is about power using faith as a disguise. When your faith threatens lives, it's not faith. It's a farce. And Smoke refuses to be quiet about it.Think for yourself. Now quote me on that.🔗 Look up your representatives: trackaipac.com🔗 FOLLOW EVERYWHERE:YouTube: https://youtube.com/@quotethesmokeTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jamesspearitBluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/rabidsalvation.bsky.socialX/Twitter: https://x.com/QuoteTheSmokeDiscord: https://discord.gg/K34EztPNJ#QuoteTheSmoke #TheHolyWar #AIPAC #FaithIsNotAWeapon #FollowTheMoney #ThinkForYourself

    Don't Clap for the Arsonist

Two weeks. That's what we got tonight.Pakistan mediated a ceasefire 90 minutes before the deadline. Iran reopened the Strait of Hormuz. And the White House is already framing it as a victory. Karoline Leavitt is already calling it tough negotiations. The victory laps are starting. This episode is about why you should not clap for the arsonist.Donald Trump started this war February 28th without congressional authorization. His own intelligence community disagreed with his justifications. 1900 Iranians dead. 13 American service members killed. Over 300 wounded. 170 children killed in a school early in the war. Gas projected to hit $4.30 a gallon. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Qatar, and Bahrain shut down 7.5 million barrels of oil per day. The global economy tipping into recession. And this morning, on Truth Social, he threatened to exterminate 93 million people.Amnesty International called it incitement to war crimes. The Iranian Ambassador to the UN called it potentially genocide. Pope Leo called on Americans to demand peace from their own president. Pakistan had to be the adult in the room because there was no adult in our own.And now we're supposed to applaud him for not pulling the trigger on the extermination he openly announced.Don't.He closed the strait by starting a war. He threatened mass death to get it reopened. He's demanding credit for fixing what he broke while we're worse off than we were before he broke it. We lost credibility. Moral authority. Lives. Economic stability. Democratic norms. All of it on the world stage. Two weeks is not peace. Two weeks is a stay of execution. And in two weeks we find out what kind of country we are.Think for yourself. Don't clap for the arsonist. Now quote me on that.🔗 FOLLOW EVERYWHERE:YouTube: https://youtube.com/@quotethesmokeTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jamesspearitBluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/rabidsalvation.bsky.socialX/Twitter: https://x.com/QuoteTheSmokeDiscord: https://discord.gg/K34EztPNJ

    It's Not Funny Anymore

On Tuesday morning, the president of the United States wrote on Truth Social: "A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don't want that to happen, but it probably will."He's talking about Iran. A country of 93 million people. More than Germany. More than France. More than California, Texas, Florida, and New York combined. This isn't a joke. It isn't negotiation. It isn't the art of the deal. Amnesty International called it "incitement to war crimes." The Iranian ambassador to the UN called it "potentially genocide." The former executive director of Human Rights Watch called it "collective punishment" — a Fourth Geneva Convention violation. Former U.S. military lawyers say threatening civilian infrastructure on this scale is itself a war crime under international humanitarian law. Multiple members of Congress called for the 25th Amendment today. And while the president of the United States is threatening mass extermination from the White House, his Vice President is in Hungary campaigning for Viktor Orban. His Attorney General was fired last week. His Homeland Security Secretary was fired last month. His own Supreme Court — three of his own appointees — told him no on birthright citizenship. His primetime Iran speech contradicted itself every 30 seconds. Gas is projected to hit $4.30 a gallon this month because of his war. The Strait of Hormuz is still closed. The global economy is tipping into crisis. This is what a cornered man with nuclear codes looks like. There is no adult in the room anymore. No one is coming to stop him. The Cabinet won't invoke the 25th. The House won't vote articles. The courts can rule but they can't physically restrain him.Which means it has to be us.Call your senators. Call your representatives. Say the words 25th Amendment. Say the word impeachment. Say the words war crime. Make your Republican rep go on record. Make them put their name on it. Because history will ask what you did when a sitting American president threatened to kill 93 million people on a Tuesday. This isn't funny anymore. It never was. But tonight it's undeniable.Think for yourself. Act for others. And for God's sake — quote me on this one.🔗 FOLLOW QUOTE THE SMOKE EVERYWHERE:YouTube: https://youtube.com/@quotethesmokeTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jamesspearitBluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/rabidsalvation.bsky.socialX/Twitter: https://x.com/QuoteTheSmokeDiscord: https://discord.gg/K34EztPNJ#QuoteTheSmoke #25thAmendment #Iran #WarCrime #93Million #NotFunny

    More than two Doors

Two parties. Two doors. Red or blue, pick one — and don't ask questions. That's the deal America has been offering for over 150 years. And most of us just took it. Episode 5 is about why we took it, how the system was rigged to make sure we kept taking it, and what's actually behind the doors they never told you about. We break down the duopoly — how the two-party system locks third parties out through debate rules, ballot access laws, and a media that refuses to cover anyone outside the two-team game. Then we get into the real alternatives: the Green Party, the Libertarian Party, the Working Families Party, ranked choice voting, and the structural changes that could open this thing up for real. This isn't about telling you who to vote for. It's about making sure you know you have more than two choices. Because you always did. They just built walls around the other doors.

    THE Constitution Isn't his Employee

48 hours. Three disasters. One president. The Supreme Court heard oral arguments on Trump's attempt to end birthright citizenship — and his own three appointees tore the argument apart. Roberts called it "quirky." Every lower court has called it "blatantly unconstitutional." The 14th Amendment was written to overturn Dred Scott. He tried to undo it with a pen. The Constitution said no.Then his primetime Iran address contradicted itself every other sentence. The war is nearing completion — but also we're bombing them for three more weeks. Nukes are handled — but also a future president might have to finish the job. The enriched uranium that started the whole war? "I don't care about that." The Strait of Hormuz? It'll "just open up naturally."And today Pam Bondi was fired as Attorney General. Second cabinet firing this term after Kristi Noem. Third AG pick after Gaetz withdrew. She couldn't prosecute his enemies fast enough and botched the Epstein files. So much winning. He can't run on accomplishments so he attacks — the Constitution, babies, Iran without a plan, his own judges, his own cabinet. The Constitution isn't his employee. And neither are we.Think for yourself. The Clout Trap

Nick Cannon said "I f*** with Trump." Amber Rose said one Black appointment proves he's not racist. And both of them did it on a platform built by Black audiences. In this QTS Quickie we take every argument at face value — then put the actual policy record next to it. The Central Park Five. The dismantling of 60 years of civil rights protections. The cuts to schools serving Black students. The Black unemployment rate hitting 8.3% under mass federal layoffs. One appointment doesn't cancel any of that. But the real story isn't Nick and Amber. It's the pattern Lizzo predicted before she deleted the video — an influx of Black celebrities who find it more profitable to align with power than to protect the people who built their platforms. The clout trap doesn't catch people who don't know better. It catches people who do. The access is real. The reward is immediate. The damage lands on someone else.Today we name it. Run the receipts. Think for yourself.

    The Personality Trap

In this episode of Quote the Smoke, Smoke cuts through the charisma, the theatrics, and the noise to expose a hard truth: too many of our so‑called leaders sound good but build nothing. From megachurch pulpits to activist bullhorns to social‑justice influencers chasing algorithms, Smoke breaks down how we’ve been conditioned to worship personality instead of demanding real, measurable change. With raw honesty and zero theatrics, he challenges pastors, activists, influencers and all of us to confront the gap between performance and production. What structures are being built? What policies are being pushed? What communities are actually being transformed? This episode isn’t about tearing people down. It’s about raising the standard. If charisma is the show, then receipts are the truth and Smoke is asking the only question that matters:What have you built?A sharp, necessary call to accountability. A mirror held up to the culture. A reminder that beautiful noise is still just noise.Tune in. Sit with it. And quote the smoke.

    The Monster and the Jellyfish

Just because I don't like Trump doesn't mean I'm riding with the Democrats. In this episode, I break down the real history both sides don't want you to know. The GOP — the Monster. Built by Nixon's Southern Strategy. Supercharged by Reagan, who closed mental health facilities, weaponized the War on Drugs against Black and brown communities, ignored the AIDS crisis, and bloated the military budget beyond reason. Every Republican since just added another floor to that house of destruction. The Democrats — the Jellyfish. Spineless and floating. Bill Clinton smiled in our face, played a saxophone on Arsenio Hall, then signed the crime bill that locked up our communities. His wife called our kids super-predators. Obama — the best of the worst — managed the country but never led it. And the last three primaries gave us two Trump presidencies. Both sides serve the same masters. Same corporations. Same lobbyists. Same table. We're not invited. As a Christian, a thinker, and a man with glasses and common sense — I refuse to choose between the one that bites me and the one that watches me bleed. It's time to stop picking teams and start thinking for yourself. Now quote me on that.— Quote the Smoke
