Today I am reading the first chapter of the book of Proverbs with Brother Allen and then we talk about it. Today I read this book as it reminds us that Christmas isn’t just about the presents. Dad joins me today so we can talk about the history of Thanksgiving and then we read a few verses on how we can give thanks to God. We also discuss memories and traditions of Thanksgiving. Today I read the history of Halloween to you. I had the idea to do a Halloween episode last year, but people said no and so I decided to research some this year to let y’all know if you want to do it or not. I note the difference in doing something and celebrating something. I also paraphrase Matthew 5:15. Then I end it by giving my viewpoint on Halloween. Today’s episode is a special one because I read out of one of my favorite Christian fiction books. This book is one of the first fictional Christian based books that I’ve read. Since then I’ve read the book Monster by this author and have loved that one as well. This episode features Mrs. Jennifer Seals, who’s been on here before, but it’s a big deal because I have been influenced by her podcast, Chapter One, to read some in a Christian book every now and then and then talk about it. I had a conversation with someone whose birthday is today. My guest today is Brother Chad Jenkins. We talked about how Jesus is the Way and how “the Way” can mean “the path”. I even used the example of how the Way is like “The Game of Life” because we’re all on a path going somewhere in life and Jesus guides us as the Good Shepherd.
