Relevant + True

Hey all! We're Bre and Kim. We are just two women who love the Lord. We are wives, mothers, daughters and followers of Jesus. We want to talk about anything, everything and nothing at all as it pertains to our daily Christian lives in accordance to God’s word. In a world that seems like there is really no concrete truth, we as Christian women, believe the only truth comes from God’s word. The world sees the Bible as outdated, but We see it as relevant to our daily lives and the only source of truth. We invite you to join us as we pursue Jesus and together grow to become more like him. Welcome to Relevant and True. ❤

    When Fear Takes Over

Sometimes we know God's promises about fear and anxiety. We know that he says he will be there and we can hand him our worries and yet we still hold on to the fear. It is only through prayer that we can get through the times of paralyzing fear. Kim tells her testimonial of how God recently helped her with a Fear/Faith crisis. If you like this episode please subscribe and share with a friend.

Can people see a glimpse of God through you?

Kim has been prepping for a new school year and I've had no voice and a terrible cough for a couple of weeks but I wanted to take a few minutes to share some thoughts with y'all. Hopefully we will be back next week. Is this podcast helpful to you? Email us your thoughts at [email protected]

The Anxiety Battle with Sarah Littlefield

We are so thrilled to have a special guest join us today! Sarah Littlefield is a licensed therapist, as well as a Jesus loving, Bible believing woman. She affirmed that anxiety is an epidemic, but it does not have to (nor should it be) that way. We're diving into science and scripture to look at the roots of anxiety, and how we can pull them from the garden of our souls to live in peace and with confidence that God is really working all things together for good. We can't wait to hear your feedback on this one!If you have enjoyed this episode please share with your friends and leave a review.

That Which Serves You (Part 2)

Let's flipping the whole serving narrative on it's head! What does the Bible say about serving, loving others, and how to be more like Jesus? It definitely doesn't look anything like the world's message of "you do you!" or "do what makes you happy." Join Bre and Kim as they discuss Truth from the Word, and what the Lord is teaching them about how to serve well. If you have enjoyed this episode please share with your friends and leave a review.

That Which Serves You (Part 1)

Today we're taking a listen and responding to a sound bite of a well-known pastor talking about cutting out those who no longer serve him. What does the Bible say about serving? Do we see it mention doing or pursuing that which serves you? Or on the contrary, should we be more concerned with ways we can serve over be served? Grab your popcorn, friends! This topic is a hot one. If you have enjoyed this episode please share with your friends and leave a review.

Godly Friendships: Through The Good and The Bad

Having discussed society's "you do you" and "let go of what/who doesn't serve you" movement, Bre and Kim are diving into what Godly friendships actually are. Do we only hang around those who make us look or feel good? What about when friendships are tested? The book of Proverbs speaks of "iron sharpening iron".  Surprisingly, that isn't just about us making on another better through all the fun and feel good stuff. Like iron, our relationships are forged through the good AND the bad, tough, difficult stuff of life. Join us for the convo, and as always, leave us a comment and let us know your own thoughts and experiences on the topic! If you have enjoyed this episode please share with your friends and leave a review.

    Canceled!

Our culture is filled with the idea of "serving" and self. And most often we hear those two things brought together in seeking out that "which serves you" or let go of that which doesn't. Cancel culture is out in full force. If someone or something doesn't agree with us or bring us more of what we want, canceled! As Christians, how does that fit what God's Word says? Bre and Kim are taking a deep dive into the topic, sharing experiences, and (as always) running back to Truth. This is a deep conversation with so many nuances. We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments! If you have enjoyed this episode please share with your friends and leave a review.

    We're Back!

We're kicking off another season, and praying the Lord uses it to speak Truth and life into hearts. We started this podcast in pursuit of obedience to ideas He had planted into both of our hearts, and we had so much fun learning and growing through the first season. As the world continues to throw its loud chaos and opinions our way, we hope to continue to bring perspective and encouragement that is both "relevant and true!"This first episode is a chatty catch-up to what's gone on in our lives from the start of the podcast, what we're learning, struggling with, and focusing on. Thank you so much for coming along with us! We'd love to hear from you! Send us your thoughts, topic requests, prayers, etc. If you have enjoyed this episode please share with your friends and leave a review.

Obedience Part 2: Following God Even When It Doesn't Make Sense

Part 2 of 2 in the conversation on Obedience, Suffering and living a life focused on Christ. In a culture that loves to talk about living the abundant or blessed life, the conversation tends to neglect one of the most important parts God calls to that equation… our obedience. Where society talks about all about self improvement, God seeks our hearts and offers sanctification. As followers of Jesus, we can be confident that trusting His ways and following His lead will always lead to an abundantly more blessed life than this world could ever offer. Bre and Kim invite you in as they deep dive into what God is teaching them on living obediently.

Truth Byte #2 - Warning to Christians from Hebrews 2

For this reason we must pay much closer attention to [a]what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it. Hebrews 2:1 What does this even mean in our life today. Bre breaks down how this scripture can ask as a warning for Christians today to heed His Word and not to lose sight of the most important thing... Jesus!

Doubt in Decisions + Our Daily Lives

Bre and Kim continue the conversation from living proactively to making decisions and how doubt can often creep in and cloud our thoughts. Did we really hear God correctly? Was that a sign He gave us, or did we read into it too much? God reminds us all throughout scripture to not doubt, but to be led by faith and to believe. Grab yourself a seat and join in as they discuss how to work through doubts and live a life full of faith and obedience to God's call.

Truth Byte #1: What to do when you are at a crossroads

Kim takes us through her recent experience of making a decision to follow Jesus's calling by being obedient or doing what she thought made more sense. This is a great 11 minute episode to give you a little nugget of truth to take into your week. Our goal is to have a few of these shorter episodes sprinkled into our show. Let us know what you think!

Living a proactive life according to Jesus

We often hear phrases like, "living my best life!" or "YOLO!" But, what does that even look like? One thing we've both learned is that living our best lives and living God's best in our lives can be two very different things! In this episode we explore living out God's best, following His will (even when that seems to be a season of waiting or unknown) and trusting in the hard. Whether you're in the valley or on the mountain peak, you can live a life of purpose and proactivity rather than just reacting to the season you're in. Join us as we dive in to living each day with intention, proactively focused on God and the rewards He offers in our acts of obedience.
