    These four drivers lie between you and your goals

    Activate these four human drives and you become unstoppable. Neglect these drives, and you become miserable. These core four determine whether you’ll achieve your wildest dreams or out yourself before you even get close. So it might be valuable to learn and apply these if you’re trying to stay motivated or disciplined. I also included 3 essential habits to keep those drives alive! You can even use these drivers as a checklist for your 2024 dreams! Here’s the core four, plus a bonus at the end! **Internal drivers** 1. Identity: simply put, if your brain doesn’t see itself as someone who does x, you most definitely are not doing x, at least long-term. It just won’t happen because it’s not integral to who you are. High performers see themselves as capable learners who can tap into higher potential. If you cut esteem off, none of this equation works because you’ll water down the dreams even when they’re hot. - What’s your self concept? Investigate how you’ve been speaking and seeing yourself. How’s that been affecting you? How have you been showing up for yourself lately? Everything between speech and show up, thought and action, is forming your self concept. 2. Obsession: mastery, depth, learning, flow, full immersion, deep learning into higher levels of potential. Crucial. Shallow scrolling mode = shallow drive (aka you won’t get far). - What’s your daily learning plan? What’s the five key skills you need to learn to succeed? What interests captured the most energy and attention from you as a kid? Find key skills and develop them, obsessively. Every day. It’s planned. It’s in the calendar. **External drivers** 1. Service. If you can’t see the impact your actions are having, you’re not going to show up when it matters. See the future consequences, and you show up. - Here’s a great motivating **question**: “What happens if I don’t show up here? What happens if I fail?” Negative consequences, as well as positive consequences, both serve as drivers for action. 2. Social accountability. If you don’t know *who* needs you to show up, you won’t show up. If you’re not deeply connected to the tribe that needs you, find it, create it, or make it up in your mind. Even if you can’t see them, there are humans every day who are impacted by your decisions. - **Daily question:** “Who needs my on my A game today?” Bonus factor at the end!
