The basic, simplified premise of this teaching is that since we are created in “God’s image” (Genesis 1:27) we are then, in essence deity ourselves and therefore essentially anything that God can do we can also do…  for example, we can speak things into existence. As with all Bible study "CONTEXT" is imperative to accurately interpreting, understanding, and applying the Bible. In this particular passage the immediate context as well as the context of the entire Book of Hebrews is critically important. And again, this is yet another passage where chapter and verse numbers invite subdividing and lifting these verse out of the the contextual flow of the passage at large.

For example: the "eye of the needle" refers literally and specifically to a small door in a large gate in the wall around the city of Jerusalem; or, there were three wise men and they arrived at the stable right after Jesus was born; or "money is the root of all evil!" The purpose of this series is to "bust those myths" with the hammer of Biblical truth. It is critically important to understand the Bible accurately and in the light of all it's contextual dynamics. This verse isn't dealing with the "trials" of life, it is dealing with the "temptations" of life; two very different subjects. This episode put's I Corinthians 10:13 back in it's context.
