Sabrina Dzugalo

Originally written in 2018, and performed here as part of my downtempo intro set at Common in Nanaimo on April 25, 2026. At first, this piece was a reflection on the early morning crows in Burnaby. Now, on northern Vancouver Island, my mornings are shared with ravens, eagles, and the wetlands that sustain them. So this version is dedicated to Simms Creek in Campbell River, the last remaining wild salmon habitat in the region, and a place of deep ecological importance for the health of the local ecosystem and future generations. Simms Creek is currently under threat from proposed development by WestUrban Developments. If you feel moved to learn more or get involved, you can visit:

This is an ambient dub track which I wrote for CITR Radio, inspired by my love of crows. You'll hear a flute and a synth, but all other sounds are samples taken from my idea of crow life - an egg cracking, wings flapping, a wooden egg dropping, and wind blowing softly through a cornfield.

Written and Performed by Sabrina Dzugalo This piece is based on my live performance in Sidney, BC for "Wonderment: Ambient Music at the Sidney Waterfront Pavilion", August 2017. This work celebrates my love for classical music and is particularly inspired by Erik Satie, Claude Debussy, and Felix Mendelssohn, whose melodies I have woven into my composition. I hope to have made a delicious sonic experience of music magic, old and new.
