Things that God hates according to the Bible According to Proverbs 6:16–19, God hates the following things:  Haughty eyes: Pride is the original sin, and God hates pride. Haughty eyes are the eyes of someone who looks down on others as if they are higher up. A lying tongue: All words have consequences, and God will judge all words. Hands that shed innocent blood: God loves and wants us to protect the innocent. A heart that devises wicked schemes: God knows what we think and sees the plans and purposes that are conceived in the souls of all people. Feet that are swift in running to mischief: God hates people who are quick to rush into evil. A false witness who utters lies: God hates false witnesses who pour out lies. One who spreads strife among brothers: God hates people who purposely cause disruption to peace in the body of Christ.  Can one therefore vote Democrat and call themselves a Christian?  The answer is no.  It is inconsiistent with the word of God and the holiness of God
