Gary’s Life Verse: Philippians 3:10-14 10 I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Episode #16 | Tiffany Stow | Let Jesus, BE Jesus
Tiffany grew up on a strawberry/pumpkin farm and enjoyed an idyllic life filled with godly people who poured into her. While playing softball in college, she heard God say, “This is the way, walk out” as she stepped away from her college softball career to join a traveling worship team/ministry. It was there she met a Godly man and fell in love. However, her entire world was turned upside down after her love story ended. Her story of love & heart break is inspiring! She found the strength of Jesus during darkness as she walked through a tough 2-year season when she wrestled with doubt, panic attacks and vertigo. Learning the truth that the one thing this world cannot take from her is Jesus! “In him is no shadow of turning.” James 1:17Her story isn’t over but just beginning. She shares how she learned about the “Spiritual swagger of the freshly anointed,” from the book Wrestling Prayer, by Eric Ludy. His telling of the David & Goliath story challenged her to stop being defensive and to take the offensive stance, using her spiritual weapons, to walk out of her trauma. Another important fact she shares is to not focus on your issues but turn and pray for the salvation of an unsaved person. Because bitterness & gratitude cannot dwell together. Episode #12 | Darcy & Joey Bennett | Valley of Grace
This couple shares about their 18 years together on a journey they never imagined. Our conversation covers their journey through addiction. This is a RAW conversation, and we are so thankful for their witness. Addiction is prevalent today, everywhere, and the face of addiction has changed over the last 8 years. During our conversation, they shared their entire story. They are transparent and how they allow God to use EVERYTHING for His Glory. During their darkest season, the stigma of addiction had been holding them down, and once they allowed others to know the truth, they found hope in the body of Christ. As a result, their darkest moments led to the birth of Valley of Grace – an addiction recovery center in 2017. They purchased their facility property and home in 2020 right as COVID started. Now, 4 years later, they can house up to 12 men through the 90-day inpatient recovery process. Clearly, God has had his hands on them both throughout this entire process. They trusted him completely. Darcy has a heart for the spouses of the addict and realizes she has more to offer. Again, another glimmer of God’s grace in abundance during the storm. Currently, the men in the program at Valley of Grace are assembling cross mailings during their ‘work time’. These messages will be sent to the 7, 906 households in Vancleave, Mississippi where the Home of Grace is located.Finding Joy in the Sorrow – a 12-week Bible study Darcy has written for the spouses of addicts.Sign up to join the study here https://valleyofgrace.life/spouse-family-support/To learn about Valley of Grace visit https://valleyofgrace.life/Show Linkshttps://www.facebook.com/joey.bennett.184https://www.facebook.com/ValleyOfGraceIndianahttps://www.facebook.com/darcy.bennett.12https://valleyofgrace.life/https://www.homeofgrace.org/Great market we mention on the show https://www.plevnacountrymarket.com/Kokomo Awakening https://firstepc.com/kokomo-great-banquet/kokomo-awakening/Daniel 3:18 (The Message) Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered King Nebuchadnezzar, “Your threat means nothing to us. Episode #8 | Brent Faulkner, TRUST FALL
Influenced by The Bible Project with Tim Mackey https://bibleproject.com/ Brent Faulkner penned his first book about Genesis 3. The Garden of Eden story is an invitation to find a trust-filled relationship with God to live out our potential. The story starts with sin but it’s also about love. There are beautiful glimpses of God’s love through all of the Creation Story. It reveals the truth about God’s character, and how he feels about us, his creation. Brent challenges us to ask questions that align with what the Bible is trying to communicate. The book's heart is that so many people have a fearful view of God. They wonder if God knows and loves them. He even references a great quote by Oswald Chambers, “The root of all sin is the suspicion that God is not good.”TRUST FALL – How the Fall of Man reveals a God worth trusting.Copies of the book can be purchased in the Cross America gift shop, or online at Amazon https://a.co/d/2sERUloBrent Faulkner https://www.facebook.com/brent.faulkner.3 Growth Pastor at Crossroads Community Church Excerpt pulled from pages 145-146 in Chapter 15 of TRUST FALL.· Remember that God’s story starts in goodness and abundance. God is faithful and worthy of trust.· When you do fail to trust God and pull away in shame and fear, remember that God is always seeking and speaking. God is faithfully pursuing you, making a way back to the right relationship. He never pulls away, and he never stops seeking you.· Remember that even when you’ve lost trust in God, God still has trust in you. God hasn’t tossed aside what’s broken. He sees your value and has gone to great lengths to redeem and restore you.· Remember that your truest identity is that you are clothed in Christ. God meets you where you are and clothes you in himself. Sin, shame, and unworthiness do not define you. You are clothed in Christ. You are forgiven, accepted, gifted, righteous, chosen, loved, and empowered to reflect God’s goodness into your community.· Remember that you are the body of Christ. You are part of the foot that crushes the head of the serpent through self-sacrificial love.· Remember that God makes a way home for those exiled from the garden and that the gates of the new Jerusalem are always open for you to come home.· Remember that God desires a trust-filled intimate partnership with you, and he has moved throughout history to make it happen.PRAYER REQUESTS or BECOME A PRAYER PARTNER: https://crossamerica.net/prayer/If you want to sponsor a zip code or learn more about how you can be involved in the ministry and mission of Cross America - visit https://crossamerica.net/.

Episode #3 | Jeff Harlow Honoring His Heritage and Impacting the Future
A conversation with Jeff where we were looking back and looking forward. Jeff has been stewarding what has been passed on to him and honoring his heritage by listening to God first and honoring him. God has orchestrated and ordained his steps from a young age when he met his wife, Becky, received God's call on his life walked boldly on the path that God ordered in his life, and is still mapping out the future. His family farm is 8 generations deep and provides fertile soil for Jeff and his family to lean into their heritage on this earth and the foundation. Discussing seeds, plant life, and farming is a natural tie into our conversation today!A firm foundation and connection to all the parts of his life that paints a beautiful image of God’s plan for his life. Raised in a church in Tipton County, at Rock Prairie church a daughter church of Oakford Baptist. Jeff pastored for 38 years at Crossroads Church, the second-oldest church in Howard County! Established in 1847 and was formerly known as Oakford Baptist until 2003. Named after the physical location ‘at the crossroads of State Road 26 and 931’. As God shapes us, He knows what he is aiming for. God was putting it all together, he is a designer. He has a pattern, and we ARE his masterpiece. He does the first part with our personality, and the nature and nurture part including our family background and heritage shapes us, but the primary stroke requires that we yield our life to Christ and allow the Holy Spirit to indwell in us. Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”Psalm 139: 15-16 “When my bones were being formed, carefully put together in my mother's womb, when I was growing there in secret, you knew that I was there— you saw me before I was born. “Another generational farm family that is honoring their heritage. Jeffs grandfather wisely told him, “One of the most valuable things you have is your name. It’s hard for most of us to imagine her confidence in Christ at such a young age. “There is no pit so deep, that God's love is not deeper still.”― Corrie Ten BoomIn 2019/2020 she took a leap of faith to follow the call on her life. She credits her steadfast spirit to her grandfather, Steve Eckart, Associate Pastor at New Life Church. Of the many people who poured into her and planted seeds, her grandfather and Crystal’s mom, Patti were just a few. She was out of the womb and into the pew. But attributes her biggest life transformation when she encountered the Holy Spirit and started a real relationship with Jesus outside the four walls of her church. Her response to the Gospel was life-changing and still is today. She learned that GOD IS REAL! She is an open vessel who is obedient and continues to ask God to use her. Episode #15 | Greg Reed | Lifestyle Evangelist & Life Coach
A recurring theme this week, it’s all about obedience to what God says. Crystal and Jen had a great conversation with a true heart surgeon, Greg Reed. A home-grown local who has been giving back to this community for generations. He’s a true lifestyle evangelist serving in a ministry of presence. After 40+ years as pastor at Morning Star Church (Now the Connection), Greg launched a new career. Now he talks to people for a living – meeting them where they are (literally at their workplace). His vision is like that of a restaurant. He’s been running a restaurant (Church) for 43 years, and now he’s on the road being a ‘Jesus Food Truck’ relating to people where they work. His ability to sow seeds is expanding beyond the walls of his physical church. His goal is to train 300 life coaches to do what he is doing and impact the marketplace. Quality of life equals your quality of work. Here is how you can connect with Greg Reed and learn more about his professional life coaching services. https://www.thriving365.life/Some other references mentioned in this podcastTrinity Evangelical Divinity School https://www.tiu.edu/divinity/You Version Bible app https://www.youversion.com/the-bible-app/If you want to sponsor a zip code or learn more about how you can be involved in the ministry and mission of Cross America - visit https://crossamerica.net/.

Episode #14 | Seed Expander, Alisha Sears
In this episode, you hear less of Crystal and Jen and more of our special guest, Alisha Sears! The founder of Women of Power Ministries https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100079730671401. God birthed this ministry in Alisha challenging her to dig deeper and to understand that God has more, so much more. She started a women’s ministry in 2018. In its seventh year, they are hosting their annual women’s event on March 9, 2024, at Crossroads Community Church. She is also on the ministerial staff at Life Impact Church https://www.facebook.com/impactlifekokomo.Alisha shares about all the women who have planted seeds in her life and the many lessons she has learned. These seed sewers taught her critical lessons that formed her staying power, faith, and internal spiritual strength. Key takeaways from this episode:· Knowing the word of God has been an anchor in her life. From a young age she was challenged to memorize entire chapters of a book in the Bible. · Tradition + Religion has taken the place of Relationship. God desires a close personal relationship with us. · Having a word for the year! Hearing God and leaning in to ‘rest in Him’ and hear what he has for you.· Touch and Agree. Get a prayer partner, and make daily prayer happen. Matthew 18:19&20 ‘And again, I say, to you if two of you shall agree on earth, as touching, anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them by my father, which is in heaven, for where two or three are gathered together in my name there I am in the midst of them.’ #ThePowerOfAgreement· March 9, 2024 Woman of Power eventIf you want to sponsor a zip code or learn more about how you can be involved in the ministry and mission of Cross America - visit https://crossamerica.net/.

Episode #13 | Seed Planter, Encourager, & Young Leader, Jaimy LaLonde
Another full circle moment here on Soul Farmer. It’s always beautiful to see the fruits of God’s goodness. Our very own Crystal Sanburn was a seed planter in the life of this guest, Jaimy LaLonde. Jaimy felt a call on her life that God wanted her to walk boldly into ministry but learned that it’s always about God’s timing. Today, she uses her God-given talents and walks alongside young adults as a Middle School Director with Bridges Outreach. She showers them with the love of Christ daily. All her experiences and obstacles were clearly preparing her for such a time as this. When we pour into others, we ALWAYS get more in return! Once again, we learn that obedience brings blessings! Jaimy strives to be intentional and go deeper in all her relationships. We just loved hearing her share about all the beauty in her life of serving God.During high school, Jaimy was involved in the Kokomo CEO Program. Through that opportunity she was able to start her own small business, Wise Choice Products https://www.facebook.com/wisechoiceproducts1. Episode #12 | Obediently doing everything in excellence (Part 3 of 3)
We finished up our conversation with the founders of Cross America, Terry and Nieta Merrell. Hear the full vision for the future of Cross America. The cost to package and mail these to 114 million households is beyond comprehension. From the printing to the manufacturing of the aluminum crosses. God has put the right people in Terry’s path every step of the way.The most important part is the people. The goodness in people really is amazing. There are volunteers who have continued to shop up every day to help share the Gospel message. Every Door Direct Mail https://www.usps.com/business/every-door-direct-mail.htmZip codes for all sizes – starting at $.43 a house. The goal is for Cross America to be self-sustaining and for the mission to live on after us. In order to accomplish that we have started a perpetual fund. Along with a 21 year plan to accumulate 8 million dollars. As of the time of this recording, we are on pace to achieve this goal. This should perpetuate this ministry beyond our lifetimes. Terry and Nieta have seen confirmation and blessings along the way. God doesn’t need your money – he needs your obedience. It’s all in God’s hands and we are resting in this. Episode #11 | God confirms HIS plan for Cross America - against all the odds (Part 2 of 3)
Romans 8:28 | And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. In this episode, part 2 of 3 the founders of Cross America continue to share about the seed that was planted in their life to be obedient to God’s calling to start this ministry. In 2017, Terry realized that not everyone in the country had heard the Gospel message, or Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Through this, God reminded Terry to simply “Go and Tell” and to not make it too complicated. After praying and sharing this vision from God with his wife, Terry acted on the plan. During the start-up process, they were met with resistance, health issues, and obstacles – but God prevailed. He was thankful for the boldness to take the first step. After that God surrounded him with the right people and the right resources at just the right time.During this entire process, Terry was able to find a solution to his health challenges when he was diagnosed with a form of Cystic Fibrosis, a disorder that damages your lungs, digestive tract and other organs. This revelation opened their eyes to the overall health issues that had been the thorn in His side since 1981. Terry has outlasted his health issues. Before opening Cross America, his lung function was down to 46 percent. He takes a life-changing medication TRIKAFTA on a daily basis which has enabled him to have a lung function of 62 percent. Every detail about the physical building for Cross America Community Center was inspired by God. He gave Terry visions that clearly spoke to appealing to the five senses in the human body. (sight, sound, smell, touch and taste.) Episode #10 | Terry & Nieta Merrell Founders of Cross America share their story (Part 1 of 3)
Romans 8:28 | And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. We all have had that ‘Santa Claus’ moment in our life when we are made aware of the world we are in and that there really is no Santa Claus. Growing up on farms, this special couple shares the joys and sorrows of their lives over the past 42 years. This is part one of a three-part series where we talk about their testimony. Then in the subsequent episodes, we will talk about the birth of Cross America and the future of this 501(c)3 non-profit. Terry and Nieta Merrell are the founders of Cross America and both are still active on the Board of Directors.God was working all things for the good in the lives of these two very special people. An equally yoked couple that has walked through trials and tragedy. In every situation, they drew closer to God and saw His hand working in their lives at every stage.Dates of note:June 8, 1981, the beginning of Terry’s health crisis when He spent almost 60 days in the hospital. The summer of 1981 dealt them both a lot of trauma. Episode #9 | God’s Faithfulness – a testimony from a cross mailing recipient
Episode #9| God’s Faithfulness – a testimony from a cross-mailing recipientAgain, God’s timing is ALWAYS perfect. A former Pagan received a cross in the mail in the fall of 2022 and a year later she decided to share her story with us. God made sure she knew He was faithfully there through it all. Listen we discuss with Alora in Tipp City, Ohio. She talks us through how she spent 10 years wrestling with her relationship with God. She found that God had always been there and was faithfully waiting for her to return to Him. This story is about planting seeds, gently waiting, and loving those around you through every season. God became the answer she needed. If you want to sponsor a zip code or learn more about how you can be involved in the ministry and mission of Cross America - visit https://crossamerica.net/.
