Episode Title: She Sold Her House. He Sold Her a Dream.Podcast: Stories on Love, Life, & Real EstateFormat: MicropodRelease Date: January 30, 2026Host: L.J.Episode Summary:In this reflective micropod, L.J. shares a fictionalized but true-to-life story about the intersection of love, money, and major life decisions. It explores how hope can sometimes outpace clarity, and how peace can arrive only after letting go of a future that was never fully defined.Safety and Clarity Takeaway:When love influences financial or housing decisions, pause long enough to ensure transparency and alignment. Emotional connection should never replace full information. Peace often comes from choosing clarity over potential and protecting your long-term stability, even when it means walking away. This is not a story about regret. It is a story about recalibration. Not every reset arrives after a breakdown. Some come when life simply stops fitting the way it used to.A reset is not about starting over.It is about noticing what feels heavy, misaligned, or forced and giving yourself permission to pause.Sometimes the most honest move is slowing down.Pulling back from urgency.Releasing roles, routines, or expectations that no longer match who you are becoming. We reset systems when they lag. 🏡 The Divorce Clause
from Stories on Love, Life, and Real EstateThere’s a certain kind of silence in a house that still belongs to someone else. Not just physically but emotionally, legally, energetically.I lived in that kind of house. Not mine. Not even fully his.It was still co-owned with his ex-wife. Divorced, yes. But financially tied. Emotionally... unfinished. He said he’d buy her out. Said it was just a matter of time.Said the market needed to shift. Said, said, said.Meanwhile, I was living in a relationship that felt like it had a foot in two decades. Mine and theirs. And no matter how much love was in the space, I could feel what wasn’t being said. What wasn’t being resolved. What was still being held onto.In this episode of Stories on Love, Life, and Real Estate, I tell the story of “The Divorce Clause.” It’s about the kind of unfinished business that doesn’t live in your heart but on a deed. It’s about the people who say they’re ready to move forward… but haven’t done the paperwork. And it’s about knowing when love is real and when comfort is just control in disguise.🎧 Listen now to The Divorce Clause on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you tune in.💬 Have you ever been the one waiting for someone to “figure things out”? 🎙️ Episode Backstory – Timmie the Moocher
This piece was inspired by a very real experience and one that I know a lot of people can relate to.Timmie isn’t just a name. He’s a type. Someone who shows up sweet, says the right things, and gets close fast. You offer to help one time out of love, kindness, or just being a decent person and somehow, that one gesture turns into a cycle of requests, expectations, and emotional drain.I dated a “Timmie” once. What started as support turned into unpaid therapy sessions, last-minute bailouts, and constant guilt-tripping. He wasn’t interested in building something real he was just comfortable being carried.Leaving that dynamic wasn’t easy. These situations rarely end with a clean conversation or closure. Sometimes the only way to truly protect your peace is to go silent. From the outside, it might look like ghosting. But from the inside, it’s survival. The written poem is my way of processing that experience with honesty, humor, and just enough distance to laugh about it now.Been there? Share this episode with a friend who’s done helping Timmie. Leave a review if this hit home—and if you’re finally choosing peace over guilt, you’re not alone.👀 Want more? She Got the Keys... to the Wrong Things
🎙️ Episode Title: She Got the Keys… to the Wrong Thing📅 Release Date: January 9, 2026🎧 Podcast: Stories on Love, Life, and Real Estate ~ Deals and Detours SeriesRuntime: ~6 minutesHost: L.J.Episode Summary: In today’s episode, we explore a true and all-too-common real estate disaster: a buyer gets approved for her dream home — until a last-minute luxury car purchase blows up the entire deal. What happened? Why did the lender pull out? And what can you learn from it?Whether you're a first-time buyer, a real estate professional, or just love a good “you won’t believe this” story, this episode is for you.🔑 Key Takeaways:Mortgage approvals are conditional until the moment of closing.Lenders do last-minute credit checks — often 24–48 hours before closing.New debt (like financing a car) can change your debt-to-income ratio and disqualify you.Buyers should avoid major financial moves — no new loans, no new credit cards, no big purchases — until after closing.Real estate is emotional, but it’s also strategic. Small decisions can have big consequences.💬 Quotes from the Episode:“She had the house, the keys were almost in her hand… and then she drove off the lot in a G-Wagon.”“Closing is not the time to get cute with your credit.”“That dream home? He calls it friendship. He says he values connection. But what he’s really holding onto is access: to comfort, to validation, to attention… without ever having to commit. In this episode, we unpack the dynamics of emotional insurance — how some men maintain emotional intimacy without emotional responsibility. And clarity? It’s uncomfortable… but honest. What We Explore:Emotional insurance vs. emotional availabilityThe illusion of being “kept close” without being chosenHow women are often cast into invisible roles of emotional laborWhy choosing self means recognizing non-choicesUnlearning the belief that connection always means intentionQuote to Remember:"He’s not emotionally available — he’s emotionally insured. Keys and a Pink Slip
📝 Episode Show NotesSeries: Deals & Detours: True Stories from the Buying Side Podcast: Love, Life, and Real Estate Episode Title: Keys and a Pink SlipEpisode Description: In this episode of Deals & Detours, I share a true story from the buying side that reminds us how quickly life can shift, even on a closing day.He was a first-time buyer who did everything right. The paperwork was clean. The savings were earned. The goal was simple: stability. Closing day felt like a win. Keys in hand. A front porch moment. A quiet sense of pride. And then, one hour later, the call came. This episode isn’t about market stats or interest rates. It’s about the emotional whiplash that can come right after a milestone. The moment when celebration collides with uncertainty. The kind of detour no one plans for, but many experience. What This Episode Explores:The emotional reality behind “successful” closingsWhy timing can feel cruel even when decisions are soundThe shock that can follow a long-awaited winWhat stability really means when life changes overnightHolding onto ownership, identity, and resolve during uncertaintyWhy This Story Matters: Real estate is often framed as a finish line. This story reminds us that it’s sometimes a starting point, even when circumstances change. A door can close hard, while another quietly remains open.Listener Reflection: What does stability mean to you when life doesn’t follow the plan? Is it certainty, or is it having something solid to stand on when everything else shifts?Closing Thought: He got the keys the same day he lost the job. One door opened. One slammed shut. And he’s still standing. If a story hits close to home — share it.New episodes drop weekly-ish, whenever the truth is ready. But every Wednesday night, we go deeper with exclusive talks on my channels.Follow, rate, and listen wherever you get your podcasts.👀 Want more?
