The discussion explores how buyers at the premium end focus less on racetrack returns and more on long‑term residual and breeding value, particularly for colts with stallion potential. In racing governance, Racing Australia’s foal registration amnesty is welcomed as a pragmatic circuit‑breaker, though concerns remain for horses already deemed ineligible. The panel then turns to the fuel crisis, highlighting its severe impact on regional trainers and the uneven responses from state racing bodies. Finally, the episode previews key Championship races, discusses looming gambling advertising reform, and analyses the political and commercial challenges facing the proposed national tote, questioning its long‑term viability without full industry buy‑in.
