  1. 83

    Everlasting Father

We all long for a reliable and loving father. Through Jesus, we gain access to an intimate relationship with God, where we can approach Him boldly as "Abba, Father," with trust, dependence, and confidence. The message challenges us to live as though our Everlasting Father has "got us."

  2. 82

    Mighty Mighty God

In week two of this advent series of sermons, we dive into the meaning of Christmas through the lens of Isaiah 9 and the promise of Jesus as our Mighty God. At a time when we can feel ourselves buckling under the weight of the world, we remember that God sent a little baby who is also our Mighty God.

  3. 81

    Wonderful Counselor

In week one of this advent series of sermons, we dive into the meaning of Christmas through the lens of Isaiah 9 and the promise of Jesus as our Wonderful Counselor. We'll learn how Christ’s wisdom and power bring rest to our weary souls, even amidst the chaos of the holiday season. Join us as we unpack the hope, joy, and light that God has already secured for us and learn how to take the next right step in following Him.

  4. 80

    Next to Them

We are fiercely independent, but is that the best way to be? When God created the church, how was it meant to function? In Nehemiah 3, God shows us how his big plans are only possible when we step up, work side by side, and move forward as God’s people.

  5. 79

    Compromise... Is It Worth It?

We all have standards set for our lives, but are we living up to the standards that God has set for us? Are we compromising, or are we forging ahead to do the tough thing but the right thing?

  6. 78

    Rise Up and Build

When life is crumbling around us, what do we do? Just as metal is forged by fire and the strikes of a hammer, our faith is made stronger in times of trial. But how? This sermon takes a look at the story of Nehemiah and the steps he takes to forge ahead, rise up, and build.

  7. 77

    How Big Is Your God?

Have you ever had someone be an advocate for you? To have someone in your corner no matter what and to know that you’re not alone in whatever you’re going through is amazing! It helps you go from feeling unsure, frightened, or confused to having someone to lean on, confide in, and trust to see you through. What all of us would give for someone like that in our lives!

  8. 76

To Trust God is To Be Truly Loved

If there’s one thing that we all know for certain, it’s nothing lasts forever. That’s why, if we put all our time, effort, and love into things that fade away, we’re only going to be disappointed in the end. We’ll be left with nothing. The good news is that, as believers, we know that there is one thing that does not fade away. One thing that is real and true. One thing that will really last forever. That’s our relationship with God! As Christians, we’re called to live real lives based on the stuff that really lasts. Rather than put our energy into the temporary, God calls us to put our eyes on the eternal. (1 John 2:15-17)

  9. 75

    Table for Two

So often our fears and worries are rooted in the what-ifs: What if I lose my job? What if no one likes me? What if I’m a bad parent and I’ve ruined my kids? And as we get overwhelmed by these what-ifs, the Shepherd sets a table for us amid the chaos. Why? What should we do about it?

  10. 74

    To Be Known

You’ve probably heard the old saying, “You want to put your best foot forward.” In today’s world, this often looks like a perfect picture on Instagram, an effortless climb up a corporate ladder, or a well-mannered family. Of course, while none of these things are terrible, they’re not really the whole story. But there is one place we can go to find the one who wants to see it all— the good, the bad, and everything in between? God! God doesn’t just want to see the highlights of who we are; God doesn’t want our best foot forward. Instead, God wants to meet our authentic selves. His light in our lives can illuminate who we really are in Him. It can lead us to real lives lived as our real selves!

  11. 73

    The Shepherd's Pace

David Powlison created the tongue in cheek “Anti-psalm 23,” which begins, “I’m on my own. No one looks out for me or protects me. I experience a continual sense of need. Nothing’s quite right” But there is something so much better available to us, if we would only go at the Shepherd's pace.

  12. 72

The Shepherd Doesn't Want Your Leftovers

The choice for the believer is whether or not to willingly become the shepherd’s sheep. Will we allow ourselves to give up control and follow the wisdom of a good and caring shepherd who can meet our every need? Can we truthfully say, “The LORD is my shepherd”?

  13. 71
  14. 70

You Gotta Fight for Your Right to... Work?

Is every Sunday full of the "Sunday Scaries?" This week in our series, The Fight, you’ll hear what God thinks about how and why we work and why He feels you and your job were created for such a time as this.

  15. 69

    God's Perfect Pick

We have the tendency to underestimate life's challenges. Reading from Ephesians we see that we are called to be light, imitating God, and being filled with the Holy Spirit. By transforming our being, imitating God, and staying connected to the Holy Spirit, we can effectively combat life's battles and find joy.

  16. 68

Fight the Right Fight (Ephesians 6:10-12)

This sermon addresses the reality of battles in our lives, covering personal struggles such as marriage, parenting, purity, mental health, and temptations. Using Ephesians 6:10-12, we can see the spiritual warfare we face and the need to identify the true enemy. Drawing parallels to a boxer in a match and the city of Ephesus, Pastor Andrew emphasizes relying on God's strength and putting on the full armor of God to engage in the good fight alongside God. Ultimately, the sermon encourages recognizing and engaging with life's battles through understanding their spiritual nature and standing firm in God's strength. Ephesians 6:10-12

  17. 67

    "Holy" Ambition (Romans 15:14-21)

Were we saved to only think of bettering ourselves? There is always more to God’s plan and it usually involves us. What is our mission? Romans 15:14-21

  18. 66

    Surrender Tastes Like...Broccoli? (Romans 12:1-3)

Pastor Andrew's sermon titled "Surrender Is Like...Broccoli?" in the Romans series emphasizes surrender, worship, mercy, and sacrifice. Drawing parallels from everyday experiences, he highlights the importance of worship, practical guidance from Romans 12, and the act of surrendering to God. Through anecdotes and biblical examples, he underscores the value of living a sacrificial and worshipful life, focusing on mercy and offering all aspects of our lives to God. The sermon ends with a call to value and glorify God above all else, inviting the congregation to recommit their lives to worship through prayer and communion.

  19. 65

God Always Has and Always Will Choose YOU (Romans 9:14-25)

We have all been chosen last for something, but what if we were never chosen at all? God says I chose you then and I would choose you again. No matter what you bring to the table. Romans 9:14-25

  20. 64

From Groaning to Glory (Romans 8:18-24)

SERMON DESCRIPTION: We have been rescued, justified, and are pursuing righteousness, so why is everything falling apart? What should we do with our suffering? Is there hope even in our suffering? A story of our justification, sanctification, and glorification. 21. 63

    New Life...Who Dis?

Now that we have been justified what should we do? Should we go on sinning? Maybe it is time to get rid of the “old man.” Romans 6:1-11 ABOUT THIS SERIES: This seven-week sermon series on the book of Romans will take us through the book and remind us of the story God wants to tell in our lives. A story of our justification, sanctification, and glorification. ABOUT THE FOUNDRY: The Foundry is an independent, non-denominational church in Burke, VA with the mission of "guiding people to forge a lifelong reliance on God".

  22. 62

They Save That A Hero Can Save Us (Romans 5:1-8)

Mistakes can be costly, but despite the cost of sin, we have a rescuer who saved us while we were still his enemies and sinners. Romans 5:1-8

  23. 61

    The Problem With the World

The book of Romans is chock full of truths we need to live this life well, but it starts with our sin. Being honest about the state of our hearts is a difficult but necessary place to start.

  24. 60

    Your Generosity is Someone's Testimony

The sermon "Your Generosity Is Someone's Testimony" emphasizes the joy and fulfillment found in giving, contrasting it with the regret often associated with material possessions. Through biblical examples and principles, Andrew illustrates the concept of supernatural math, where God's provision multiplies generosity. Encouraging a shift in perspective towards trusting God's daily provision, the sermon highlights the eternal impact of generosity beyond mere financial blessings. Testimonies shared throughout the sermon affirm the transformative power of generosity in changing lives and communities for the better.

  25. 59

The Church Should Reflect God's Generosity

Every person is created in the image of God and it is the responsibility of the Church to do what Jesus did: restore dignity, support the needy, comfort the hurting, and proclaim the goodness of God. But how does the Church do that? It's definitely not by checking in for a Sunday sermon or a Bible study and just taking care of those inside the four walls we call "church". The kingdom of God takes enemy ground when His people recognize the great generosity of God and reflect that back to the world. This takes the form of heart changes and practical means.

  26. 58

    Failure & Forgiveness

This sermon delves into Peter's misunderstandings and failures, emphasizing Jesus' grace and forgiveness towards him. It urges listeners to acknowledge their flaws and depend on Jesus' sacrifice for salvation. Sharing the gospel is underlined as crucial, even amidst personal failures. The narrative incorporates biblical teachings and historical examples to exemplify the significance of God's grace in one's life.

  27. 57

Jesus Has A Name For You

John called himself "the one Jesus loved" in his Gospel account. Far from being a snub to the other disciples, John title because it is how he identifies: he is one the Jesus loves, just like we all are. Jesus also called John and his brother, James, "sons of thunder" and it might not mean what you think. This sermon serves as a poignant reminder of the transformative impact of wholeheartedly following Jesus. ABOUT THE FOUNDRY: The Foundry is a non-denominational Christian church in Burke, VA that is focused on "Guiding people to forge a lifelong reliance on God."

  28. 56

    Thomas: Doubt and Belief

This message focuses on the disciple Thomas in his moments of trust and doubt. The sermon addresses doubt as a common experience and encourages believers to wrestle with it, viewing it as a stepping stone towards deeper faith. Ultimately, the message stresses the importance of taking the next right step in one's faith journey, even in moments of doubt, trusting that God is at work.

If you have been around church for even a little while, you have heard a request for more people to ‘serve on a team’ None of these ways of serving are bad things! They are just the beginning! Service denies self to serve those around us and to help us become more like Jesus. (Matthew 20:28)

  37. 47

    The Point of Prayer

Prayer is personal communion and dialogue with the living God. Seen from a biblical perspective, prayer is an opportunity and a privilege rather than a burden or a duty. As such, prayer should not be limited to structured times but should also become an ongoing dialogue with God as we practice his presence in the context of our daily lives. (Ephesians 6:18)
